Blinded in Left Eye from Police Beating

[Minghui net] As a Falun Dafa [great law and universal principle] practitioner for four years I have benefited in body and mind. When the Teacher and Dafa were suffering from slandering and framing, I went to Beijing to appeal many times. However, as a citizen, and a good person who acts according to "Zhen-Shan-Ren" [Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance], even my freedom of speech was deprived; the "people's" police battered my left eye and consequently it is now blind.

One day around noon in the middle of last December, I went to Tiananmen Square. There were not many visitors, but plenty of plainclothes police, uniformed police, and armed police. There were police vehicles all around Tiananmen Square. A plainclothes policeman came up close to me and asked sharply, "Where are you from and what are you doing?" I ignored him. There were several plainclothesmen close to me. I saw that it was very difficult to free myself from them, so I ran two steps to the front and shouted loudly, "Falun Dafa is good," "Falun Dafa is a righteous Fa [law and principle]," "Return Teacher Li's clean reputation" and so on. Before I could finish, the first policeman caught my hair and turned my face to the sky. Several other police came and raised their feet to kick my face, the left eye, and other places. I did not know how many times I was hit before I went down to the ground. They took me by my four limbs and threw me into the police van like just throwing a object, not a person. There were already around ten Dafa practitioners in the police van. The police were searching everyone. To deal with disobedient practitioners, they used electric batons to beat them. At this time, I said loudly, "Doing good deeds is met with good rewards, and being evil is met with evil returns. How can police beat people casually?" One policeman with a ferocious looking face used his fist to bash my left eye again.

I was sent to Tianjin City. After being detained there for some time, the police decided to bring me back to the Beijing office of my hometown. On the way back to Beijing, one policeman gave vent to his personal spite without reason and used his fist to beat my left eye twice. Then my left eye became black and blue. The eyesight was blurred.

When I was brought back to my hometown, I was illegally sentenced to labor reeducation. I couldn't see anything out of my left eye, and it was diagnosed in the hospital as traumatic retina separation and conjunctivitis; my left eye was completely blind. The doctor suggested an operation as soon as possible, but there was no hope of regaining sight after the operation. Right now, I have been released on bail for medical treatment at home. (They stopped paying my salary because of labor reeducation.)

I cultivate and practice according to "Zhen-Shan-Ren" to become a good person. When encountering unfair treatment, I appeal according to lawful procedure. This is the most basic right of a citizen, but for this I was left with a blind eye.
