However, the Public Security Unit sent her to the labor camp. Her husband, Zhao Baoting has also been detained and tortured for 3 months since he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. His mind is not in a right state [because of the torture] and he is now being watched at home. Their son, Zhao Xudong, was sentenced to 2 years detention in a labor camp. Their daughter-in-law, Li Hongping, knowing that she would also be sent to a labor camp, was forced to leave her four-year old daughter with relatives and go into hiding. A good family has thus been totally torn apart. Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Yuzhong (male) received a phone call and was asked to go to the unemployed worker's center for something. This was just an evil trick the authorities used to get him out of his home. They proceeded to force him into a labor camp for a term of one year. She was sentenced to 3 years of forced labor in Tangshan City, due to practicing Falun Gong. They have an underaged child in school. No one is looking after their child now. Practitioner Yang Jiulan (female) is a 59 year-old practitioner. She went to appeal in Beijing. When she just got to Tiananmen Square, even though she said nothing and did nothing, she was forced into a police vehicle and sent back to a local detention center where she was imprisoned for 37 days and forced to write the "guarantee statement." [a statement that guarantees that she would never again practice Falun Dafa; have no contact with practitioners; never again go to Beijing to appeal/translator] She had to hand over a so-called "deposit" of 1,000 Yuan and a "transportation fee" of 300 Yuan, and "living expenses" of 150 Yuan. At that time, the police said the deposit would be refunded 1 year later. But now it is 1 year and 3 months later already, and not even one Yuan has been returned. Practitioner Yang Anbei (male), went to appeal in Beijing three times, was illegally detained three times, and illegally fined 3,000 Yuan. Now he has been sentenced to one year of forced labor. Furthermore, because she refused to write the "guarantee" statement, the authorities illegally arrested and sentenced her to 5 years in prison. 2. Tang Sulan (female) is 63-years-old.. In December 1999, she went to Beijing to appeal. She was arrested and sent back to Linshui County where she was illegally detained for 90 days. On January 28, 2000, something quite humiliating happened to her. The guards had tied her up, paraded her through the streets and loudly declared in public the reasons for her arrest. In July 2000, for posting Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials, she was sentenced to 4 years imprisonment. The court originally had sentenced her to 3 years in prison, but later publicly and arbitrarily changed and extended the sentence to 4 years.
3. Ge Decai (male) is an employee of the Electric Factory of Linshui County. Between October and December of 1999, he went to Beijing twice to appeal for Falun Dafa. He was arrested and sent back and detained for 15 days and 80 days, respectively. During detention, the vicious policeman Li Jiliang beat Ge Decai so brutally and severely that he fainted several times. Li Jiliang also abetted some criminal prisoners to torture him over a long period of time. In June 2000, Ge Decai went again to appeal and was illegally detained for 45 days after being sent back. During midnight of November 2, 2000, the local police took him away from home by force and told him that he was sentenced to 1.5 years in a labor camp.
4. Dong Ming (male) is also an employee of the Han race of the Ironware Company of Linshui County. Between October and December of 1999, he went to Beijing twice to appeal for Falun Dafa. He was detained for 15 days and 90 days, respectively, after being sent back. In June 2000, he went again to appeal. After being sent back, he was illegally detained for 45 days. During detention, the police enticed some criminal prisoners to beat him severely and torture him over a long period of time. Around midnight of November 2, 2000, the local police illegally took him away from home by force and told him that he was sentenced to 1.5 years in a labor camp.
5. Mei Lunxian (male) worked at the Agricultural Bank of Guang'an City. He also was sentenced to 3 years in a labor camp because he had gone to Beijing four times between September and November of 1999, appealing for Falun Dafa.
6. Wang Xianhui (male), is an employee of the Culture & Education Bureau of Linshui County. In December of 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. After returning home, the vicious policeman Li Jiliang and some other police slapped him on his face at his work unit in front of his colleagues. Wang Xianhui was detained for 75 days. During detention, the policemen ordered some criminal prisoners to beat him severely and torture him over a long period of time. In February 2000, for fear he would go to Beijing again, the local police took him forcibly from home at midnight and illegally detained him for 30 days. The police again enlisted the aid of criminal prisoners to beat him severely until he fainted. In November 2000, the local police again took him away from home forcibly at midnight and illegally imprisoned him. He is imprisoned and held up to the present.
7. Cao Zhirong (male), 71-year-old, is a retired employee of the Cotton & Linen Company of Linshui County. On July 10, 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa, and was detained 15 days after being sent back. On March 23, 2001, he was arrested again while he was distributing Falun Dafa truth materials in Changshou County of Chongqing City. He fainted when the local police beat him severely to make him reveal other Dafa practitioners' whereabouts. It is not known where he is imprisoned now.
8. Wang Yizhen (female), Bao Chunlan (female), Wang Qizhen (female), Liu Fenglin (male), Bao Zhongyu (male), are presently being held in custody for distributing truth materials in November 2001.
9. Luo Shixiu (female) is a descendant of the Han race. In October 1999, she was intercepted on her way to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and was subsequently detained 15 days. In December of 1999, she again went to Beijing to appeal and was severely beaten by policemen at Tiananmen Square. For a long time, the vicious beating caused her loss of normal hearing. When she was sent back, she was whipped with a leather belt by vicious police thugs Huang Mingde and Lin Jinghui (female) in the Linshui Detention Center, for insisting on practicing the Falun Dafa exercises. Her whole body was swollen and she was handcuffed for 4 days and detained 75 days. On January 28, 2000, while being tied up, she was publicly paraded through the streets. In July 2000, she was arrested for distributing Dafa truth-clarifying materials. During detention, four vicious policemen, Li Jiliang, Wang Xiangao, and two others whose names we don't know, tortured her cruelly. They grabbed her hair and knocked her head against the wall; they handcuffed her and then pried them open with an iron bar. The poor circulation even now makes her thumbs feel numb. She sustained injuries all over her body and fainted several times during detention. They would forcibly awaken her with salty water. After she had regained consciousness, they continued to torture her. The inhumane acts and tortures lasted nine hours. She was detained 30 days.
10. Haibo (pseudonym) (male), 28-year-old. Since October 2000, he has been on the move between Chengdu City and Chongqing City for distributing truth materials. On April 13, 2001, he was arrested by the local police while distributing Falun Dafa materials in Chongqing City and was severely beaten by five or six policemen. Whether he is still alive or not is not known.

Her house was illegally broken into and ransacked by local National Security personnel. The next day she was sent to a detention center and was put in handcuffs 13 days, for insisting to practice the Falun Dafa exercises. She was therefore unable to take care of herself. On January 28, 2000, together with seven other Falun Dafa practitioners, she was paraded through the streets and police publicly revealed the reasons for their arrest. She was not released until March 20, 2000.
