[Beijing] The Obscene and Vicious Behavior of the Director of the Qianmen Police Substation

I am a Falun Dafa practitioner from Jilin province. On December 21, 2000, I went to Beijing Tiananmen Square to validate Dafa, where I met five practitioners from other provinces. I unfolded a banner and shouted loudly, "Falun Dafa is Good, Falun Dafa is a Righteous Fa [law and principles]." Police arrested me immediately. In the afternoon, all six of us were escorted to Qianmen Police Substation and tortured there. One male practitioner from Tangshan City was called out first. Even though it was winter, the police striped off his clothes. They then beat him with a wooden baton. Later the police shocked him with an electric baton. When the electric baton moved to the bottom of his feet, the practitioner didn't feel pain but the policeman said to himself, "Why does it shock me? I feel pain in the bottom of my feet." This is truly that "all the good and bad deeds have retribution." The policemen let the practitioner put his clothes back on, poured water over his head till he was thoroughly wet, and then escorted him back to the jail. That night, the police didn't allow him to sleep, and ordered him to sit the whole night on the brick floor.

The four female practitioners were called out one after another. I was the last called by the director of the Qianmen Police Substation. When I stepped out of the room, I saw a practitioner was tied to a tree. After I entered the director's office, the vicious director pressed me down to the ground, sat on my back, and ordered me to crawl on the floor. I refused. He then beat me brutally. He also reached his two hands under my clothes to fondle my breasts and then tried to touch my private parts. I tried my best to avoid his groping and warned him, "When God created human beings, he set up moral rules and ways of life. If someone transgresses these rules, he is no longer a human being. Your current behavior is immoral." He didn't listen to me at all but pulled out his penis instead. Because he couldn't strip off my clothes, he used his penis to touch my body randomly. In the end, he grabbed my hair like a furious beast, pushed me onto a couch and said, "You don't let me take off your clothes, so I will put it into your mouth!" At that moment, I couldn't move under his force and was very anxious. I called to the Teacher in my heart, "Teacher, please help me!" When this idea came out, the beast stood up and I then ran away from him and his attempt to rape me. I wonder whether his family members know he commits such atrocities while on duty.

[Dalian, Liaoning Province] Police Force Falun Dafa Practitioners to Have Photos Taken and Use These Photos to Make False Reports about the Number They Have "Reformed."

Before the end of March, a Dalian Falun Dafa practitioner was at a neighbor's home. Suddenly, several policemen came in and wanted to take photos of them. The practitioner refused to have a photo taken but the policemen insisted that all persons who practice Falun Gong must have photos taken. After taking the photos by force, the policemen confessed the truth - they would report to the higher level authorities that those practitioners in the photo were reformed. After learning of this plan, the practitioners wrote a statement to Minghui Net to clarify the truth and to deny the false claims made by the police.

This also exposed the propaganda that appears in Newspapers and on TV that the "reform" rates of XX districts were 99 percent or even 100 percent. These claims are absolutely the lies of Jiang and his accomplices. Jiang Zemin wants to persecute Falun Gong, but the local authorities cannot reach the quota required by higher authorities. So the local authorities have to find its way to defraud the higher-level authorities. The kindhearted authorities try their best to protect Falun Dafa practitioners, but the wicked authorities escalate the persecution and beg for rewards.

[Beijing] Practitioners Working Together Step out to Expose Jiang Zemin's Crimes

On April 9^th, some Beijing practitioners working together distributed many photos to expose Jiang Zemin's crimes. The weather of Beijing on that day was windy followed by rain. It was good weather to distribute the materials. They distributed over 20,000 photos this time, but in some places, the photos still ran out.

[Beijing] A Female Plainclothes Policeman, Who Disguises Herself as a Photographer on Tiananmen Square to Arrest Falun Dafa Practitioners, Was Beaten by Other Police Accidentally

Near the national flagpole on Tiananmen Square, a female plainclothes officer disguised herself as a photographer to search for Falun Dafa practitioners among the visitors on the square. When she saw anyone like a practitioner, she would approach and ask, "Would you like to have a photo here?" If the visitor said, "no," she would then ask, "Are you a Falun Gong practitioner?" If the answer was "yes," she would immediately call on her accomplices to arrest the practitioner. [Note: The policemen receive a cash bonus everyday based on the number of practitioners they arrest.]

On May 13, 2000, a practitioner went to Tiananmen Square to safeguard Falun Dafa. This female plainclothes officer played the trick again. "Would you like to have a photo?" she asked. The practitioner answered, "No." She kept on asking, "Are you a Falun Gong practitioner?" The practitioner didn't answer her but instead walked away. The practitioner walked for a short distance, took off his shoes, sat with legs crossed, and began to practice the fifth set of Falun Gong exercises with a heart full of compassion toward all human beings. The female plainclothes saw him and shouted loudly, "Here is a Falun Gong practitioner. Come catch him!" At the same time she rushed toward the practitioner. She grabbed the practitioner's clothes but the practitioner did nothing but continue to sit with his legs crossed. A group of policemen arrived after hearing the call and they thought the female plainclothes officer was the "Falun Gong practitioner", so they began to beat her up. Soon, the female plainclothes' accomplices rushed there after hearing her shouting. When they saw one of their members was beaten up, they began to fight with the policemen in a melee. After a while, they heard someone yelling, "Stop! Stop fighting! We beat the wrong person. He is the real 'Falun Gong practitioner'."

[Xi'an, Shanxi Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Validate Dafa and Suffocate the Wickedness

One night in early April, some Falun Dafa practitioners of a district of Xi'an city brought many paper banners and truth-clarifying flyers to expose the wickedness and validate Dafa. They posted the flyers and banners at the gate of a government office building, on the electric poles, and on the walls. They also put many flyers outside the doors of the residents in that district. The next morning, the police were as scared as though they were facing a troop of the enemy. They surrounded the district, made a lot of phone calls, and analyzed the footprints. They investigated busily for a long time but could not find any clue. This event had a big impact on the local people. Once again with reason and wisdom the Dafa practitioners validated Dafa, and suffocated the evil force.

[Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] A Veteran Officer from Guangzhou Military Command Arrested for Practicing Falun Gong Is in Critical Condition Yet Denied Immediate Treatment

Yu Shiyu is over 70 years old. He is a retired veteran officer from the Department of Liaison and Logistics (formally Department of Logistics) of the Guangzhou Military Command. He was arrested on June 18, 2000, for practicing Falun Gong in a park of the Guangzhou cemetery of martyrs. He has been in prison for nearly a year. During his imprisonment, he developed a critical illness, but police guards in the prison would not send him to the hospital without a significant delay. During the Spring Festival (February 24, 2001), after his family made impassioned pleas, the prison authorities agreed to release him on bail to go back home for a few days. However, the authorities did not release him in accordance with their agreement. Their excuse was that one of his sons was also a Falun Gong practitioner. This is how Jiang Zemin and his accomplices treat a veteran military officer who once fought for his country, risked his life for his country and indeed devoted his whole life to his country.

[North China] Director of Police Substation Protects Falun Dafa Practitioner, "I Give her my Personal Guarantee."

The director of a police substation in North China has avoided persecuting Falun Gong practitioners as much as possible. Since July 22, 1999, he has treated practitioners practicing righteous Fa [law and principles] with great kindness. Reading Falun Dafa books and improving his moral standard has become an important part in his life. He has never ransacked any practitioner's home.

A practitioner realized she was wrong to have written a guarantee letter not to practice Falun Gong. She wrote a statement declaring the guarantee letter invalid and submitted it to the police substation. The director said, "If you do not write a guarantee letter, you will be sent to 'Study Class'. It is the order of higher authorities." The practitioner was determined not to write the guarantee letter. The director called her husband to the police substation. He started beating her as soon as he entered the station. However, she still would not write the guarantee letter. Finally the director said, "I will hand her over to you. Take her home. I will personally guarantee her. However, you should not beat her again after going home. Falun Gong practitioners are good people. They are not against the Party or society. They just pursue their own beliefs. Let them practice at home if they insist. The practice is effective for curing diseases and maintaining good health." Dafa practitioners have helped the police understand the heavenly principle that good will be rewarded with good, and evil with evil. This can be seen in police actions during the execution of their duties.

Over the past 20 months, Dafa practitioners have been firm in practicing Falun Gong. They have gone to Beijing to guard Dafa and clarify the truth of Dafa one after another, thus creating an unconquerable environment in the human world. People have come to understand the viciousness of Jiang Zemin and his accomplices more clearly. We hope those kind-hearted governmental officers support Dafa practitioners more actively. People with wisdom will perform many good deeds and bring benefit both to the nation and to their own future.

[Beijing] Accounts of My Appeal during the Conference of the "People's Congress"

On March 7, 2001, I went to Beijing to exercise my lawful right to appeal. As soon as I arrived at Tiananmen, plain-clothes men and police stopped me. Before I could walk into the Square, they started their interrogation. "Are you a Falun Gong practitioner?" I answered, "Yes." They put me in a police vehicle.

At the Tiananmen Police Substation, several policemen beat and kicked me. One policeman got a bloody nose after beating me. He had no understanding, so he complained to me and beat me with his baton to force me to give out my name and address. I said that the solution to the problem was not for me to give my name. I did not want to implicate local officers and work units. They continued to beat me. At that moment, I thought that if I did not practice well, I could disappoint Teacher, who takes care of all of our lives fully and heartily. I should bear more and have Teacher bear a little less. Then my heart became very calm. They realized that they could not get anything from me and requested that I stand in a corner and wait to be picked up by X. I had only one thought: that I came to validate Dafa. I would not give out my name and address whatever they did. I would only believe my Teacher. I had a clear and calm mind. I could not help but reciting Teacher's poems. My whole body felt relaxed. The police realized that they could not get any answer from me. They cursed me, "You XX go away." Thus I returned home.

[Haidian District, Beijing] The Criminal Offense of Haidian Detention Center

I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. On December 7, 2000, I went to Tiananmen Square to validate Dafa. I was arrested and detained in Haidian Detention Center. During the illegal detention, I witnessed police persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. The facts are as follows:

1. Upon entering the prison cell, I saw three police shocking a female Dafa practitioner (from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province) in turn with electric batons because she refused to give her name and address or recite prison rules. They shocked her fingertips, toes, hands, face and neck over and over. The high-power electric shock resulted in blisters on her face and hands. The shocking lasted over 40 minutes and made her almost lose consciousness (but her mind was clear). The police saw that she was in a critical condition, so they ordered her back to her cell.

In the cell, the head of the cell ordered a criminal prisoner to watch her and force her to stand and to stay awake. This torture lasted for four days and nights. As soon as she closed her eyes, the criminal prisoner poured cold water over her body and fanned freezing air to her. The torture did not end until the fifth day when she gave out her name and address.

2. Another practitioner from Norhtheast China did not give out her name and address. Criminal prisoners locked her in the windy corridor of the cell, stripped her, and sprayed cold water over her body for over one hour. She did not give in. They beat her with rubber hoses. The practitioner had a righteous mind and never gave in.
3. A 65-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner did not give out her name and address. The police urged the criminal prisoners in the cell to torture her by forcing her to squat down and stay in the same position. The elderly practitioner squatted for two days and one night, but did not give out her address. All Dafa practitioners illegally detained in Haidian Detention Center who do not give out their names and addresses will be tortured by being made to squat for long periods. This is just the beginning of a series of tortures.
4. One practitioner from Shanxi Province gave out her name and address upon entering the Center. However, because of her accent, the cell leader named Tian Chao (a criminal prisoner) did not understand her. So he slapped her face over 20 times. Her face became read and swollen. The pitiful criminal prisoners are thus transformed into tools to persecute good people.
5. I was illegally detained for 20 days. I went on a hunger strike for 10 days. I was force-fed from the fourth day. I spoke out the truth of Falun Dafa to the police guards each time I met them. I did not commit wrongdoing and I am not a criminal prisoner. I did not perform any criminal offense against either the law or the constitution. So I refused to recite prison rules or say, "Thank you, police guard." After I returned from illegal interrogation and force-feeding, the criminal prisoners forced me to squat down. I did not do what they requested. They were afraid of punishment by police guards and pushed me down forcibly. I still wouldn't do what they requested. However, due to my inadequate reading of Dafa books and shallow understanding of Dafa, I did some other things unintentionally in accordance with their requests, such as having a photo taken, fingerprinting, and signing a note, etc.

Many of the Dafa practitioners detained in Haidian Detention Center went on a hunger strike. Two of them are professors from Qinghua University. They had already been detained over a month. Both of them were force-fed everyday but they refused to obey the vicious police.

Every day when I was force-fed, I saw two police guards carrying a Dafa practitioner in handcuffs and shackles and force-feeding her.

[Binzhou City, Shandong Province] Police Persecute Falun Gong Practitioners in Binzhou City, Shandong Province

The police station of Binzhou city, Shandong province received its quota of Falun Gong practitioners allocated from higher authorities to send to labor camps. On March 29, 2001, police launched a large-scale citywide campaign that illegally arrested practitioners including Li Haiqing and over 50 others, who were then sent to Wangcun Labor Camp in Zibo city. Still short of meeting the quota, police rounded up some more on March 31, including: Gao Jianxin, Geng Liming, Dong Guozhen, Wei Shuang, Li Dahu, Yu Xiaolan, Zhang Quanzhong, and Wu Yueying.

Also in Boxing county of Binzhou city, the following practitioners have been illegally sent to labor camps: deputy principal of Boxing Sports School, Dai Dongwu, nurse in Boxing Hospital An Dehua, farmer in Panjia town Cui Xiuhua, principal of Wangcun Elementary School in Caowang town Cao Lianyun, and temporary employee of the postal office Han Guofeng.

[Hunan Province] Dafa Practitioner Illegally Held in Qingling Watch House

Practitioner Chen Jinhui of Hunan province, male, 31 years old, was arrested in February 2000, for organizing experience-sharing meetings. He was held in Danshuichi Labor Camp for almost a year. Due to his insufficient understanding, he wrote down materials that were against the Dafa. He was released last December. After reading recent articles from the Teacher and exchanging thoughts with other practitioners, he quickly woke up. He was so miserable that he decided to make up the losses. On December 25, to validate Dafa he went with other practitioners to Tiananmen Square to appeal peacefully. While running he held up high a banner shouting loudly, "Falun Dafa is good!" His voice could be heard from far away. Several policemen ran toward him and knocked him down on the ground and viciously beat him up. After he was taken onto the police vehicle, he again shouted out loudly, "Dafa is good!" Two policemen held him down on the floor with their feet. He was later held in custody in a detention center in Beijing. On the 29^th day of the 12^th month in the Chinese lunar calendar (January 21, 2001), his family was notified that Chen Jinhui was held in Qingling Watch House. He remains in custody.

[Beijing] Lu Huihua of the High Energy Physics Institute of Academia Sinica Is Sent to "Transformation Class" by Force

Lu Huihua, engineer in the High Energy Physics Institute of Academia Sinica was tracked down by national security agencies for publishing a solemn statement. Police demanded her work unit send her to a "transformation class." Her work unit agreed to pay 30,000 Yuan RMB for expenses for her attending the class. Police took away Ms. Lu Huihua from her work unit by force late March of this year. Her child is only 1 year old, and is in need of a mother's care. We request attention from kind-hearted people.

[Guanzhou City, Guandong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Are Held Illegally

One day before the Spring Festival of the Chinese lunar calendar, Dafa practitioner Li Jieqiang in Dongshan, district of Guangzhou city, sent her daughter to kindergarten. People from the street office and police sub-station took him away by force from within the kindergarten and sent him to a "transformation class." He is held in Meihuayuan Cadres' Sanatorium until now. There are altogether 19 practitioners held there.

[Jinzhou City, Hebei Province] Police Extort Arrested Practioners

A practitioner in Jinzhou city, Hebei province started practicing Dafa in May 1998. Since then she has benefited significantly mentally and physically. In order to restore justice for Dafa and restore the innocence of the Teacher, she went to Beijing to peacefully appeal on November 27, 1999, by exercising the constitutional rights endowed to citizens. She was arrested in Tiananmen Square and illegally held in Tiananmen police sub-station. While taking her to the Beijing liaison office of Shijiazhuang city, the driver (male, around 40 years old) demanded 30 Yuan from each person citing orders from higher ups. In the afternoon, Niu Wei and Zhao Yongqian, from the politics and security section of her hometown's police station and Zhan Guo from the security section of her work unit escorted her back. Zhao Yongqian demanded 150 Yuan as travel expenses; her work unit deducted 1 month's salary (around 500 Yuan) to pay for expenses of those who escorted her back according to work unit leader, Tian Jianying. During the month or so when this practitioner was held in a local watch house, she was given sorghum buns, pickles, and corn porridge as breakfast; buns and boiled radish as lunch. However, over 300 Yuan was demanded as meal expenses. Later on, her family had to submit 5,000 Yuan as a guarantee before she was allowed to go home.

All relatives who have witnessed her mental and physical changes after practicing Falun Gong and friends who know about how nice she treats others are disgusted by the police's practices. They all know that she has chosen to practice out of her own will and has not even spent a dime. The police want to force people to change their minds, meanwhile collecting money through extortion.

[China] Transformation Class Is Re-education through Forced Labor in Disguise

Under the pretense of "uniting, educating, and saving," the Jiang Zemin clique has treated Falun Gong practitioners unscrupulously. They cruelly directed the inhuman self-immolation incident, fabricated rumors that Falun Gong has a foreign political background, organized massive campaigns that rival "the Cultural Revolution," and instigated hatred against Falun Gong within a misled public. At the same time, they have tried to brainwash Falun Gong practitioners by sending them to labor camps to attend the so-called "study classes" or "mind transformation classes."

Most practitioners who have been sent to "transformation classes" did not provoke wicked persons by unfolding banners or distributing leaflets. Rogues thus had to resort to surprise attack, lies, or kidnapping to get practitioners into vehicles. As soon as practitioners have been taken to "transformation classes" they lose their personal freedom. They are not allowed to meet family members or to have telephone conversations with people in the outside world, nor are they allowed to talk to each other. And the practice of Falun Gong exercises is strictly banned. Some practitioners have been "escorted" for extended periods of time; 3 beds are arranged side by side; the practitioner has to sleep in the bed in the middle between the so-called "escorts."

At the very beginning, a crowd of "red clothed people" [Note: term for special agents] would surround the practitioner, pouring out devious teachings, which distort Dafa. These special agents sometimes threat, sometimes reproach, and sometimes scold the practitioner. Police officers sometimes side with these special agents. It goes on like this day after day. Practitioners who refuse to be transformed will face "extra hours," and will be endlessly surrounded by a crowd. No rest is allowed from morning to evening so as to constantly torment practitioners. If at the end of one session practitioners still refuse to be reformed, the "study" session will be extended.

This is the "help and education" that is taking place in the so-called "best period of human rights" claimed by Jiang Zemin. Falun Gong practitioners are facing forced "transformation" under the disguised measures adopted in labor camps. Yet, "Coercion cannot change people's hearts," [Note: title of Teacher's article written on March 4, 2001] and "transformation classes" eventually end in shame under the resistance of Dafa practitioners.

[Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Watch Out for Special Agents Lurking among Falun Dafa Practitioners

Recently, a small number of special agents in Wuhan area who have lurked among Dafa practitioners are actively providing information about practitioners to the perverse forces. At the same time, they pretend to be firmly cultivating practitioners themselves and make contacts everywhere to encourage practitioners to go to Beijing to promote Dafa; they then immediately report to police departments the schedule and itinerary of practitioners who are going to Beijing. Police thus are able to intercept practitioners based on the information. These people who betray Dafa use this to court favor from the perverse forces. It was learned that for every Dafa practitioner intercepted on his way to Beijing, the informer receives 100 ?200 Yuan in award. Quite a few practitioners have encountered extra tortures because of this. These agents are even more despicable than the perverse forces; they make a fortune by trading their souls. They are bound to pay for what they have done. Yet it is still necessary to expose their scheme. We should not follow the instigations of rogues, and leave no advantages for them to take.

[Binzhou City, Shandong Province] Both Wang's in Binzhou City, Shandong Province Receive Retribution for Countless Crimes Committed

Wang Zonglian, party secretary of Binzhou City Committee of Shandong Province and chairman of the city's Standing Committee of People's Congress, and Wang Xingfa, chief of Binzhou Public Security Bureau issued orders to open fire at and kill unarmed civilians. The Public Security Ministry arrested Wang Xingfa in Beijing, on April 1, 2001. Meanwhile the Party Central Committee's Disciplinary and Procuratorial Committee has placed Wang Zonglian under investigation and in isolation. The two Wang's are followers of Jiang Zemin in Binzhou city and are the leading criminals of persecuting Dafa practitioners. The two Wang's are the organizers and implementers of sending practitioners to labor camps, putting them into custody, dismissing them from work units, and other various persecutions.
