UK Practitioners

Today is 2 years since Zhong Nanhai Event happened in Beijing in 1999. During these two years, Falun Gong practitioners have been through the most difficult time. Thousands and thousands were detained without trial and hundreds were sent to mental hospital.

UK Falun Gong practitioners had activities in Scotland, Manchester and London today. Over 30 Falun Gong practitioners in and around London gathered in front of the Chinese Embassy to peacefully appeal to Chinese government to stop persecuting Falun Gong and to pay tribute to the 195 Falun Gong practitioners who have been tortured to death in police custody in China. We delivered an open letter to the ambassador of the Chinese embassy. Media also arrived to do spot news reports.

It was raining when we started the exercises, but everyone was in good spirits. When the parade began, the sun was shining. The parade was accompanied by the music of Pu Du and Ji Shi. Two Falun Gong practitioners were walking in the front holding a wreath; they were followed by practitioners holding photos of those practitioners who have been tortured to death in china and banners that read "Falun Dafa," "Stop persecuting Falun Gong," and "Paying Tribute to 195 Falun gong Practitioners." The parade was on the busiest route in London: Oxford Street, Regent Street, through the world famous Chinatown, Tafalgar Square and back to the Chinese Embassy. Along the route, hundreds of Dafa leaflets and newspapers were given out. People stopped to watch the parade, and to read the leaflets and newspapers. Many were shocked by what was happening to Falun Gong in China. In Chinatown, many chefs, waiters and waitresses came out of the restaurants and shops to obtain Chinese Dafa newspapers and leaflets. One young man said that he has been out of China for over one year now. When he was in China, he knew that the reports about Falun Gong were all fake. He said people there cannot get the truth about Falun Gong because it was covered by the government; he wanted to get a Dafa newspaper to understand the truth of Falun Gong. Another lady said she knew Falun Gong was good.

The parade ended in front of the Chinese embassy and we did the exercises again. The whole activity finished in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere.
