[Minghui Net] Report from Geneva on April 5, 2001--- Shortly after a Falun Gong practitioner from Switzerland spoke at the United Nations Human Rights Commission on behalf of The World Citizens' Association yesterday, Falun Gong spokesman, Mr. Zhang Erping, representing the NGO called Freedom House gave a speech this afternoon (April 5th) about the Chinese government's persecutions of Falun Gong, A delegation from the Chinese government gave a speech before Freedom House claiming that there is no mistreatment of any citizen, and that Chinese citizens enjoy freedom of thought, belief and expression, etc. Countering these lies, Mr. Zhang listed specific cases of Falun Gong practitioners having been persecuted in China and exposed the crimes of framing, fabricating, abusing, and killing conducted by the government represented by Jiang Zemin to "eradicate" Falun Gong at any cost. Mr. Zhang pointed out that "the persecution is irrational and cruel" and called on the United Nations Assembly delegation to have special rapporteurs or to form a special committee to conduct an overall investigation of this issue in order to end Beijing's persecution of the peaceful Falun Gong practitioners in mainland China. Through the collective efforts of Falun Gong practitioners from various countries, the international community has a better understanding of and deeper sympathy for the tragic experiences of Falun Gong practitioners in China. The speeches of the British Foreign Minister and the German Foreign Minister both mentioned and condemned China's persecution of Falun Gong. Many non-government organizations and human rights organizations also frequently condemn Beijing's persecution of Falun Gong in their speeches.
