Liu Xiaoling, female, about 35, Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province

Liu Xiaoling was a 35 year-old woman who was born in Wuzhan Township of Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province. On the eve of the year 2000 Chinese New Year festival, she, her younger brother and her sister-in-law who was in her 5th month of pregnancy, as well as her mother all practiced the Falun Dafa exercise in public. Because of that, they were all detained in the Zhaodong City Detention Center. Ms. Liu was illegally detained nearly 16 months beyond the customary legal detention period. Around May 13, 2001 she was pronounced dead in the detention center. Details need to be further investigated.
