Letter of Appeal from Ying's Friends in Montreal

Ying Zhu is a very caring, gentle and loving person. Everyone that has ever come across her knows of her big heart and of her often dynamic and light hearted personality. She has touched the lives of many Montrealers, including all of her friends that miss her deeply. With her kindness and genuine optimistic attitude, she has helped many people feel and experience the inner light that she has found within Falun Dafa. Her English skills and ability to communicate have enabled many Westerners to learn and understand the practice and principles she cares so deeply for. She has been a bridge between the Chinese and Western communities here in Montreal, open and willing to share her knowledge of Chinese traditions and eager to learn about Montreal's French and English cultures. We are saddened by her arrest and disappearance in China, and have difficulty understanding how such a person can be viewed as a criminal by anyone. We worry for her safety, and that of her husband and family. We know that Ying is strongly committed to the principles of truthfulness-compassion-forbearance. We know that regardless of what coercive or repressive measures the Chinese government uses to attempt to convince her to let them go, she will surely stand up for what she knows is right. We hope her beliefs will give herself encouragement and help her get through this most difficult trial, just as it has been for the tens of thousands of other Falun Gong practitioners, simply asking for their basic human rights to be respected. We hope that Canada and all kind-hearted people can help in Ying's return to Canada.
