Falun Gong Practitioners Hold Press Conference in Rome, Italy

Hosted by the Radical Transnational Party, Falun Gong practitioners held a press conference in the Italian capital of Rome on May 18. They revealed the truth of Jiang Zemin government's arbitrary violations of the Chinese Constitution and of human rights, and its persecution of about ten thousand Falun Gong practitioners. Reporters from several major Italian TV stations and newspapers attended the meeting. Practitioners first showed a documentary videotape on Falun Gong. Falun Gong spokesman Zhang Erping and an Italian practitioner presented facts on Falun Gong and its tragic situation in China, and then answered questions. The European Union Parliament member, Mr. Marco Pannella, and the Secretary of the Radical Transnational Party attended this meeting and gave speeches to support Falun Gong's human rights and freedom of belief. Mr. Pannella expressed his gratitude for the Falun Gong practitioners' courage towards their freedom of belief. He cordially invited Mr. Li Hongzhi to visit Italy and urged the newly elected Italian leaders and the President to receive him. This was the first Falun Gong press conference at the Italian Capital. It successfully helped many people to understand Falun Gong objectively. Italian media also reported on the conference objectively and positively.
