Photo Report: Practitioners In New York Send Forth Righteous Thoughts In Front Of The Permanent Chinese Mission To The UN On June 16
For the past two weeks, hundreds of practitioners from the New York area
have gathered in front of the New York Chinese Consulate to join with Dafa
disciples from around the world in "sending forth righteous thoughts."
This Saturday, however, New York practitioners obtained a permit to perform this
Fa-rectification activity in front of the Permanent Chinese Mission to the UN.
The police sealed off an entire sidewalk next to the mission for our activity.
Practitioners "sent forth righteous thoughts" at 5, 6, and 7
o'clock. Between the hours, Dafa practitioners did the 5 exercises. Some
practitioners used this good opportunity to HongFa to the passing
pedestrians as well as the many police officers guarding our activity.
Practitioners also put on display a new poster with screen shots of the
"Self-Immolation Deconstruction Video" in order to clarify the truth
to the Chinese people who might walk by near the Chinese UN Mission (see photo).
Some Chinese people, driving in cars, stopped to give us the "thumbs
up."
There were many more police officers (between 15 and 20) watching over our
activities in front of the Chinese mission than our old place in front of the
consulate. The scene was a little tense in the beginning. But practitioners then
started chatting with the officers, telling them that this was going to be the
"most peaceful duty" that they ever had, while at the same time
exposing the evil persecution of Falun Dafa to them. One female practitioner
showed some officers the horrifying pictures of the tortured practitioners.
Officers nodded in agreement and sympathized with our situation. After seeing
our orderly and peaceful activity, the police were at ease. Later the police
told us "you are right, this is the most peaceful duty we ever had"
"Where can we learn? We'll come next week." At the end of our activity
all the practitioners gave a warm applause to the friendly officers.
