Peaceful appeal and Falun Gong exercise practice in front of the Chinese consulate

While the European Council was holding a meeting in Gothenburg, Sweden, more than 600 Falun Dafa practitioners from 23 different countries came to Sweden to participate in Fa (universal law and principle) promotion activities.

At 9:00 a.m. on June 14, 2001, more than 120 practitioners arrived at the Chinese consulate to expose the crimes committed by Jiang Zemin and his followers, and clarify the truth about Falun Gong. At 9:30 a.m., the press conference began. Some Swedish T.V. and radio stations reported many of our activities, such as the Falun Gong practice, news conference, and the attempted submission of an open letter to the Chinese consulate. At 10 a.m., three Swedish and German practitioners along with news reporters tried to submit the letter to the consulate. However, consulate officials rejected the letter and asked the police to intervene, but they refused. The local radio station accurately broadcasted the details of the event. In the evening, a T.V. station also broadcasted the scene of our peaceful appeal in front of the consulate. Many Swedish people listened to the radiocast and learned the truth about the situation.

At the same time, practitioners launched demonstrations of the exercises and Dafa-promotion activities elsewhere. Many practitioners distributed flyers that clarified the truth and introduced Falun Gong to tourists; many tourists showed interest. At around 5:00 p.m., about 50 practitioners from Europe and Taiwan rode by on the top of a double-decker bus. They waved little yellow flags that had "Falun Gong, Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" written on them. They promoted Dafa to residents as well as tourists, as the bus drove through numerous places in the downtown area. Passers-by along the way constantly waved to and cheered on the practitioners. Next was the around-the-city Fa-promotion activity in a tour boat in Gothenburg. More than 90 practitioners sat in the boat and introduced Dafa to the people along the riverbank for about 45 minutes. Several practitioners demonstrated Falun Gong exercises on the bows of the boat. As the boat passed by, constant cheers arose from the people on the bank.

To Dafa practitioners, today in Gothenburg was a hectic day, but it was also a day in which we shone brightly as Dafa particles in this historic time of Fa-rectification.
