A Swedish Practitioner's Experience with Chinese Police


My name is Anne and I started practicing Falun Gong in 1995, when Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong, personally introduced it in Sweden.

I found this practice to be a good way to improve myself because it is guided by the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. It has benefited me both physically and mentally. As you know, the XX [party name omitted] Party has suppressed Falun Gong since July 20, 1999, and they have used the most vicious method to make the practitioners stop practicing. This has led to at least 228 people being killed by brutality.

In 1999, I went to China to study Chinese and when I was visiting some practitioners in Canton, the police came into the private apartment I was staying in and arrested all of us without giving us a reason.

We were all detained. I was interrogated. They confiscated my passport and visa. I was kept in the police station for 14 hours under surveillance. Thanks to help from my friends in Sweden and the Swedish media, I was released.

A Chinese friend of mine who was very diligent in practicing Falun Gong and who also went to Beijing to tell the truth to the western media was arrested and detained. She was sent to the Masanjia Labor Camp; one of the most cruel and vicious labor camps.

Police tried to brainwash her with constant propaganda, separated her from the others, and pressured her harshly. The police finally forced her to give up practicing Falun Gong and forced her to help them coerce other practitioners, traveling to different labor camps and detention centers.

It took her five months to recover and she recommitted herself to practice Falun Gong. She wrote a letter explaining what had happened and sent it to a Falun Gong web site.

The very next day, police arrested her again. She is now detained and we do not know what will happen to her.

I hope that more and more people will learn the truth and help stop what is going on in China, so that the Chinese government will stop killing innocent people.
