Heavy Winds Uproot Trees in Tianjin

[Minghui Net] At midnight on June 15, an abrupt storm hit the center of Tianjin (city), causing the most severe damage to the forest in Tianjin since 1976. In the Nankai and Hedong districts, where the damage was most severe, around 7,700 trees were snapped or uprooted, calculated as 85 percent of all the damaged trees in the city.

The wind reached force 8 during this storm. In the city's 6 districts, 9,071 trees were snapped or uprooted, among which there were more than 1,400 big trees (trunk diameters over 30 centimeters). Collapsed trees fell on about 300 houses and many cars. Roads were blocked due to fallen trees and electric poles, causing severe traffic congestion.

It is common knowledge that the incident related to Falun Gong, on April 25, 1999, began in Tianjin. On April 11, 1999, Luo Gan's borther-in-law He Zuoxiu wrote an anti-Falun Gong article in the Youth Overview magazine published by Tianjin Normal Institute. Falun Gong practitioners in Tianjin went to Tianjin Normal Institute, and other relevant organizations, to clarify the truth about Falun Gong. However, The Public Security Bureau in Tianjin used riot police to beat the Falun Gong practitioners. As a result, there were practitioners injured, and 45 were arrested.

Since Jiang Zemin's political group publicly started persecuting Falun Gong, the officials in Tianjin closely followed Jiang Zemin's lead to persecute Falun Gong.

Tianjin University forces all students who have ever practiced Falun Gong to write their understanding before graduation. If they don't write the statements, they will not be permitted to graduate and will be sent to brainwashing classes hosted by the City of Tianjin.

Last March, a court in Tianjin illegally tried 13 Falun Gong practitioners who were already imprisoned for allegedly holding Falun Gong banners on Tiananmen Square and distributing materials clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. The longest term among the 13 practitioners was 6 years.

A 65-year-old female Falun Dafa practitioner was tortured in the Baodi Detention Center in Tianjin. The police pulled her hair, twisted her ears and mouth, pushed her against the wall and forced her to kneel down and squat. They poured freezing water onto her back, kicked her legs and beat her. Just before she was about to faint, the leader of the police used a lighter to burn her fingers, one by one.

On January 15th of this year, a female practitioner Zhang (surname) who lives in the District of Tanggu, Tianjin, was arrested and detained in the brainwashing class hosted by the Anti-Drug Office. Over 100 Falun Dafa practitioners were detained in this brainwashing class. Ms. Zhang was illegally sentenced to a labor camp for a year and a half. At 5:00am on May 11, practitioner Zhang suddenly fell down and died after she was sent to the hospital. The doctor notified her family that she "died of a sudden heart attack."

The authorities in Tianjin have committed countless bad deeds, persecuted Falun Gong and created a tremendous amount of karma, which make them unredeemable. The karma caused boundless disasters in Tianjin.

Since spring, it rarely rains in Tianjin. The drought has gotten much worse. The agricultural water reservoirs are at levels 80 percent less than past years. This is the 5^th consecutive arid year that Tianjin has experienced since 1997. Hit by heavy winds after a big drought is the destiny due to the fact that both good and the evil are surely rewarded by good and the evil respectively. People who still have some compassion, for your own sake and that of your family, for the sake of your eternal life, please stand up bravely, resist the evil forces, and treat Falun Gong kindly.
