Do Not Forget Benevolence When Eliminating the Evil

Just as I came home on June 6, at 8 p.m., my mother-in-law told me from the upstairs, "They are already here." "They" were the local police and two people from our local residence office. They told me, "Several days ago, we asked you to fill out a form (a 'Transformation Form', in which the first line was to acknowledge that the self-immolation in Tiananmen Square was conducted by Falun Gong practitioners...), and you refused. This time you have to go to the transformation (brainwashing) class. Today you have to go no matter what and we will carry you there if we have to."

At that moment, I recalled what Master said, "If you are a true practitioner, our Falun will safeguard you. I am rooted in the universe. If anyone can harm you, he or she would be able to harm me. Put simply, that person would be able to harm this universe." (Zhuan Falun) He also said, "just by having your heart unaffected you will be able to handle all situations." ("Eliminate Your Last Attachment(s)") So I said, "I did not violate the law, nor did I do anything wrong. I won't go. Furthermore, my son, who is about to take the college entrance examinations, needs my care. My parents-in-law are almost 80-years-old, if I leave and something happens to them, will you be held responsible?" Not knowing what to do, they called the police chief, who soon sent two policemen to take me forcefully. At the same time, the director from the district's law and politics committee, along with two other people, also came and told me, "Today we will use heightened measures. You are now subject to "focused" law enforcement, so we will carry you there if we need to." Then they asked me to sign my arrest warrant.

I followed Master's requirement "No matter what the situation, do not cooperate with the evil's demands, orders, or what it instigates." ("Dafa Disciples' Righteous Thoughts are Powerful") and firmly refused to sign. I knew that there were evil factors behind them. At the moment I realized that facing the evil tribulation, I must first put down concern for myself. When eliminating the evil, I also needed to be benevolent with kind thoughts. Therefore, while they were talking, I silently murmured Master's words "The Fa rectifies the Cosmos, the Evil is completely eliminated." In my heart, I said this continuously. When they stopped talking, I clarified the truth to them. I told them about the great changes my whole family experienced physically, mentally, and in our daily interactions with other people. My mother-in-law even showed them her picture before she practiced Falun Gong, in which she appeared to be frail and ill.

At this point, the director of the law and politics committee left, and the others were carefully listening to me. After a while, the director came back and announced, "Out of consideration that you have two elderly people in the family and your child is taking the college entrance examinations, we will not take you today. Otherwise, you might have been locked up for at least 15 days." He then turned to leave. I said, "I would like to say something. From how you handled this case, I think that everyone here has kind thoughts but may have been fooled by irresponsible one-sided propaganda..." I saw that the director seemed to be shocked, but he then said, "We do not really listen to it. We are just carrying out our duties." I said, "Whether you truly listen or not, I am doing this purely for your own good. I am advising you towards kindness. Our Master is rectifying the Great Law of the universe, and everyone is positioning themselves during this process. Heaven's law ensures that kind and the evil behavior will both receive what they deserve."

Later I thought, the reason that I was not taken by the evil force this time was not because these people made their decision, but it was the result of my benevolence towards these people while eliminating the evil and taking the Fa as my Teacher.
