A report from Yunnan Province states that Xinping, Yuanjiang and some other areas in the Yuxi region were struck with severe floods, which has not happened in the last century. Six people died from the disaster, 35 were injured and 96,000 were afflicted in Xinping county alone. The direct economic loss was estimated to be over 200 million Yuan (Chinese currency).
Heavy downpour struck the upper stream of the Guishu River on the evening of June 2, 2001. Then the water level of the river in Yuanjiang county rose over 10 meters. The overhead bridge of highway 323 tilted, causing traffic breakdown. The resulting economic loss was estimated to be over 4 million Yuan (Chinese currency).
On June 3 and June 4, the many days of heavy downpour caused the middle part of the Ailao mountain ridge to break apart. The biggest fracture near Yaonan Village is 0.5 kilometer long, 2 meter wide. It is reported that more than 9,000 local inhabitants in Gasa Town have been rescued to a safe area.
All these natural calamities were caused by man-made disasters. If in doubt, then what about all those evil human deeds, which have taken place in Yunnan Province?
Since the "Human Rights Abuse scoundrel, Jiang Zemin," launched his persecution against Falun Gong, the local government in Yunnan Province illegally detained, sentenced to forced-labor, and imprisoned many innocent Falun Gong practitioners. Many practitioners have been tortured until they were severely injured or to the point of death. Practitioners had to exile themselves away from home
In April 2000, Kong Qinghuang, a male Falun Gong practitioner, was detained for over a month. The news was too harsh for his father to accept. His father died soon afterwards. In June, Kong Qinghuang went to Beijing again to appeal for Dafa and was again detained in Jianshui Police Station. He suffered from extreme physical and mental torture. In August, Kong Qinghuang was forced by the "610" office to receive treatment in the hospital. On September 1, he suffered from severe stomach pain after being force-fed some "soup." He passed out the very next day and died on September 3. His wife was dismissed from work and is homeless now.
Finally, Jiang Zemin's regime in Yunnan Province was punished with natural disasters. Human beings ought to realize that at work is the universal principle in which good deeds get rewarded and evil deeds are punished. If one can defend justice and conduct himself/herself compassionately, one will not be struck by these natural disaster. By defending Falun Gong against the evil persecution, one is laying a solid foundation for a beautiful future.
