[China] Falun Dafa Practitioners in a Detention Center Send Forth Righteous
Thoughts, Police are Shocked
There are many Dafa practitioners in detention centers. Before reading
Master's new article "Dafa Disciples' righteous thoughts are
powerful", they did not enlighten to this principle of the Fa. Although
they understood that they have extraordinary abilities as a result of their
cultivation, they were not sure whether Teacher unlocked them so they could use
them. After reading the article, they came to understand that we should not
passively forbear. On the contrary, righteous thoughts should be used actively,
in all cases to wipe out the evil in other dimensions that persecutes Flaun Dafa
and practitioners. To those vicious policemen who have completely lost their
righteous thoughts and humanity, we should set a time limit for them to receive
retribution. At present all the practitioners in this detention center have
practiced the exercises openly. They also seriously warned those policemen who
still have a little humanity not to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners anymore.
One policeman is extra vicious. When he saw that a practitioner was
practicing the exercises he wanted to punish him. The practitioner warned him
instantly, "If you touch me even a little, you will receive retribution
right away!" This policeman became frightened by this strong righteous
thought, so he indicated to the head criminal to beat this practitioner. The
practitioner spoke loudly, "Whoever touches me will receive [karmic]
retribution!" The head criminal raised his leg to kick the practitioner but
his foot broke immediately as if he had kicked a hard iron board. Another
criminal stepped forward and kicked at the practitioner, but before he could
stop to think, his leg swung around and kicked the vicious policeman in the
face. Our practitioners continued sitting in the lotus position the entire time
without moving. This event was quite a shock to those evil people. Now Dafa
practitioners in other detention centers all use righteous thoughts to wipe out
the evil that persecutes Dafa and Dafa practitioners.
[Kaifeng City, Henan Province] The Director of the Kaifeng City Yu Opera
Troupe Receives [karmic] Retribution and Is Sent to the Hospital; the
Authorities want to Dispatch a New Director
In May 2001, under the direction of the corrupt authorities, some malicious
people played another ugly trick. They fabricated a Yu Opera [chinese style
of opera], which slanders Falun Dafa and defames Teacher and sent both the
Kaifeng City Yu Opera Troupe and the Kaifeng County Opera Troupe to different
areas to perform. They were even planning to go to Beijing. A few days ago, the
director of the Kaifeng County Opera Troupe received [karmic] retribution
and was sent to the hospital. It is said that Beijing sent another director to
Kaifeng. We see that the evil wants to put up a final struggle.
[Changchun City, Jilin Province] Arresting Dafa Practitioners With the Excuse
of Investigating the Mobilizing Population
Recently in Changchun, notices were posted on the walls of every street,
district and work place stating that "in order to fight back crime, rectify
social order and clear out the mobilizing population [this statement usually
refers to poor people from the countryside who come to cities to find labor jobs],
from May 23 until the end of September, a census of the whole province will be
held". Why do they want the census? This is obviously aimed at Falun Gong.
They are intending to arrest the Falun Dafa practitioners who left their homes
and prepare for a new cycle of persecution.
[Beijing] Dafa practitioner Li Wanxiang Is Kidnapped
On June 10 between 7 and 8pm, some staff members from the Beijing Jingsong
District 610 office, policemen, a street committee director and secretary, along
with some female accomplices in plain clothes, with a total of over 10 people,
broke into Dafa practitioner Li Wanxiang's home. When Li came home at around
9pm, these bad people took her away by force. Coming downstairs, Li spoke out
loudly "Falun Dafa is good!" The head of the 610 office said,
"Just these words alone are enough to sentence you to three years in a
labor camp!" During the entire event, they showed no legal documents. The
police vehicle that took her away was a gray IVECO with tag number CW1631. The
tag of the other white Beijing Cherokee Jeep is Beijing HC6075.
Before this happened, the staff of the 610 office had been monitoring this
building 24-hours a day, with 6 people taking turns on duty, in order to arrest
the other Falun Dafa practitioners and send them to a "transformation
class". After waiting for three days and two nights, they illegally
arrested two practitioners who live in the same building as Li Wanxiang. These
two practitioners have not been released since they refuse to be brainwashed.
[Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Authorities at Suihua Labor Camp
Persecute Falun Dafa Practitioners
At 7:00 P.M., on the evening of the Autumn Festival of 2000, [a
traditional festival in China, similar to Thanksgiving Day in the U.S., when
family members are typically reunited] the police guards at Suihua Labor
Camp maliciously beat Falun Dafa practitioners in an attempt to force them into
"reforming" and to make them denounce Falun Dafa. Although many
practitioners were tortured and beaten, the policeman on duty, Yang Bo, refused
to stop this brutal activity.
Yang Bo has often deceived the detained Falun Dafa practitioners by
fabricating fake articles by Teacher and threatening the practitioners, in an
attempt to mislead them into "enlightening" along an evil path.
In October 2000, a police guard named Li Yanbing asked a practitioner some
senseless questions. When the practitioner refused to answer, Li Yanbing
repeatedly and savagely slapped the practitioner's face.
During August and September 2000, the brutish guards of the labor camp used
coercive methods to brainwash the practitioners. With the excuse that
"training" was necessary, they subjected the practitioners to
brainwashing tactics, outdoors in the hot sun. If anyone submitted to the
coercion, and started to denounce and slander Falun Dafa, they would stop the
brainwashing. Those steadfast practitioners were forced to exercise under the
baking hot sun for five hours each day. It caused many practitioners to have
their faces severely sunburned and their legs swollen from exposure. One
practitioner fainted from sunstroke during these sessions.
[Chengde City, Hebei Province] Female Practitioners Detained in Chengde
Detention Center Are on Hunger Strike
Recently, all the female practitioners detained in the Chengde Detention
Center went on a hunger strike to protect the Fa of the cosmos, to restore the
innocent reputation of Falun Dafa and to ask for their own unconditional
release. The ruthless thugs from the 610 Office [An office created in every
city by Jiang Zemin's regime to deal specifically with issues related to Falun
Gong ], Public Security Bureau and Police Substations sent the hunger
striking practitioners to labor camps for harsher punishment. The eight
practitioners who have been sent to labor camps are: Li Xiaolan, Liu Shuyun,
Zhang Jingzhen, Wang Yaping, Han Liping, Yang Aiping, Hu Jianping and Liu Jingfu.
They were all sent to labor camps without any notice to their families of their
whereabouts.
Practitioner Lu Guiyuan, the Secretary of the Disciplinary Investigation
Committee of Chengde Nationality Vocational Technology College (formerly Chengde
University) was deceived into a forced brainwashing class in the middle of May.
Because she refused to cooperate with any of the orders and requests from the
malevolent authorities, she was regarded as a stubborn person, and was
transferred to Big Tiger Valley Detention Center. Her relatives were forbidden
to visit her. On June 6, after much difficulty, her husband, who had been on a
hunger strike for seven days, was finally allowed to visit her. Observing wounds
and bruises all over her body, he asked the guards why this had been done to
her. The rough police guard answered, "Although it may seem that she has
done nothing wrong, two students from the Medical University, who had almost
become brainwashed, had instead become steadfast again and even began the hunger
strike together with her after having lived with her for only a short time. This
is even worse than distributing truth-clarifying materials. We had planned to
sentence her to three years of forced labor."
[Chengde City, Hebei Province] Prison Guards Brutally Beat Falun Dafa
Practitioners in Chengde City Detention Center
We are Falun Dafa practitioners who went to Beijing to appeal and to clarify
the truth about Falun Dafa to the people. As a result, we were arrested and
detained in Chengde City Detention Center. We lost our personal freedom and
endured sufferings that ordinary people are unable to endure. We practitioners
have all been detained here for at least six months. The prison guards violate
the basic principle of the law by scolding and beating us whenever they feel
like it.
At about 10:00 A.M., on May 29, 2001, guards Wang Shulin, Lu, Yang
and Captain Ma stormed into our cells to take away Teacher's articles by force.
We all tried to protect the articles and, consequently, were beaten and kicked
by the guards. Captain Ma struck our heads with a large steel keyring that held
a lot of keys. The attackers injured practitioner Yang Aiping's eyes. Her
eyesight became blurred, her whole body was in pain and she vomited, possibly
due to internal injuries from being repeatedly kicked. Practitioner Liu Shuyun's
shoulder and nose were injured. Han Shuping's legs were wounded, and she felt
pain in her chest and head. Several other practitioners were slightly injured,
as well. At that point, the guards intended to take one of us away, but facing
strong resistance from all the practitioners, they let that practitioner go back
to their cell. But they had robbed us of Teacher's articles. That is why we
practitioners at Chengde City Detention Center went on a hunger strike, to
safeguard the great law of the universe with our lives.
[Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Public Security Illegally Detains Falun
Dafa Practitioners in an Filthy Abandoned Barn
In July 2000, the public security section of the mining bureau of Qitaihe
City threatened Falun Gong practitioners who went to appeal. They held over 30
Falun Gong practitioners in a detention center that had been abandoned for over
a year. It was used as a barn for raising dogs and pigs. Insects and parasites
were everywhere. A fetid odor filled the space. The vicious public security
personnel had not removed the dogs and pigs until the day before they detained
the practitioners. During the period of illegal detention, Falun Dafa
practitioners were severely beaten. To make an impression during the inspection
by the leaders of the city, under the director Dong's leadership, all the police
wrote slogans slandering Falun Dafa. If a Falun Dafa practitioner did not submit
the public security personnel beat him mercilessly.
[Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Zhang Deyi
Is Abducted
Falun Dafa practitioner Zhang Deyi from Qinhuangdao City has been
illegally detained in Shanhaiguan Batiao Detention Center of Qinhuangdao for
half a month now. No one has informed his family. Some fellow practitioners who
know the situation have sent Zhang Deyi some clothing and other personal
essentials.
[Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Zhang Li
Is Illegally Sentenced to Three Years in Labor Camp
On April 15th I was delivered to Dongwuan Shangqiao Detention Center. As soon
as I entered the detention center, I met a middle-aged woman Zhang Li, who was a
firm Falun Dafa practitioner. She told me Falun Dafa is the righteous way. She
was arrested and put in prison for cultivating
"Truthfulness-Benevolence-Tolerance". Since she knew she was innocent,
she did not tell the police her name and address. The police in the detention
center beat her so brutally that there were wounds all over her body. Afterwards
a family member came to bail her out for medical treatment. The personnel of the
detention center refused. Instead they dragged her into a cell. Zhang Li went on
a hunger strike to protest. She also continued practicing the exercises. As soon
as they saw her practicing, the police beat her and force-fed her. They even
knocked out one of her front teeth in the process of force-feeding her. Seeing
that she still did not eat, the police gave her injections. These vicious people
simply don't treat Falun Dafa practitioners as human beings. Zhang Li
encountered these cruel tortures merely for practicing Falun Gong exercises and
believing in the characteristic of the universe:
"Truthfulness-Benevolence-Tolerance". After more than 20 days' hunger
strike, Zhang Li became as skinny as a skeleton and could barely stand. However,
as serious as her condition was, she was still illegally sentenced to three
years in labor camp. She was transferred from Dongwuan Detention Center to
Sanshui Labor Camp on April 27, 2001.
[Changchun City, Jilin Province] Street Office and Residents' Committee are
Reprimanded by the Family Members of Falun Dafa Practitioners
The police in Changchun City went to Falun Dafa practitioners' homes, in the
name of the street offices, residents' committees, and the local police
stations, in a new round of persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. The idea
was to register Falun Dafa practitioners and collect their signatures in the
vain hope of forcibly brainwashing them. In the end, they encountered not only
the firm resistance of the Falun Dafa practitioners, but also received severe
reprimands from the practitioners' family members.
One Falun Dafa practitioner received a phone call from the street office
asking him to sign something. He replied firmly, "I won't sign anything.
I'm busy working and do not have time to sign anything." Soon, several
people from the street office and the residents' committee arrived at his house
together. His spouse said: "He has gone to work." The people said:
"Then let us have a chat with you." "I do not want to discuss
with you. Last time you took away my innocent spouse and detained him over ten
days, without notifying us of his whereabouts. We were left at home alone. You
did not let him return home even on New Year's Day. I have not yet argued with
you about this! You are even so shameless as to say that Falun Gong does not
talk about human feelings. In my view it is you who have no human nature! What
has my spouse ever done to make you treat him like this?" "We are
taking charge of him." "If you want to take charge of someone, I don't
care. Just don't think about taking charge of my spouse. If you do this kind of
villainous thing, you will suffer [karmic] retribution! Now please leave
immediately!" Upon hearing this, these few persons had no choice but to
leave.
[Shanghai] Police Illegally and Forcibly Brainwash Falun Dafa Practitioners
in "Brainwashing" Classes
On the eve of the Spring Festival, police in Shanghai forcibly or deceptively
brought 80 Falun Dafa practitioners to the so-called "reform" class to
brainwash them. Two of the practitioners refused to be brainwashed and were
sentenced to two years in labor camp.
Now the vicious people are holding a second and a third brainwashing class.
Falun Dafa practitioner, Ms. Cui from Baoshan District, was forcibly taken away
on the afternoon of June 11 to be brainwashed in the. Her current whereabouts
are unknown.
[Changchun City, Jilin Province] A New Session of Transformation Classes in
Changchun City for Forcible Brainwashing
On the morning of June 11, numerous Falun Dafa practitioners in the education
field of Nanguan district of Changchun city were forcibly sent to Xinglongshan
Transformation Class. Every attendee of the transformation class has to pay 700
Yuan for room and board [over one month's income for an average urban worker
in China]. The persecution against Falun Gong has intensified across various
areas of Changchun city. At present, some Falun Dafa practitioners have been
illegally detained, sent to labor camps, or recruited forcibly into
transformation classes under all kinds of excuses.
Sources say this new session of transformation classes, coming after the
large-scale roundup that took place a while back, has been conducted to prevent
any occurrence of appeals in Beijing by local practitioners on the 80th
anniversary of the founding of the Party on July 1st.
Several Falun Dafa practitioners were forcibly taken into police vehicles
under the direct supervision of the Party secretary of the Nanguan district
education bureau. These practitioners' work units had not received any prior
notification, and opposition from work units' leaders against this action was
ignored.
[Beian City] Falun Dafa Practitioner Suffers from Brain Damage As a Result of
Police Beating at Huayuan Labor Camp in Beian City
During their illegal detention in Huayuan labor camp in Beian city, three
Falun Dafa practitioners, including Li Yunbiao and Bai Shuiliang, were viciously
beaten by police officers. Li suffered from brain damage as a result of the
beating. When Li was transferred to Suihua labor camp, his symptoms became
serious. He became incontinent - unable to control either his bladder or bowels.
[Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Kidnapped after
Being Beaten Unconscious
Zhang Xuming, male, 30 years old, employee of Huaxin Cement Factory and Falun
Gong practitioner, had been forced to leave home since he was unwilling to
attend the involuntary brainwashing classes held on February 27, 2001.
Li Furong, female, 30 years old, from Lijiawan district in the Tuanchengshan
Economic Development Zone and a Falun Gong practitioner, was forced to leave
home since she could no longer bear the threats from vicious police officers.
Both of them were beaten unconscious at 11:00 PM on June 1, 2001 near Xialu
Steel Factory in Liutanwan district. They had been telling the truth to the
public but were spotted by government thugs. After being knocked out, they were
immediately dragged away. Since both of them were on the top of the local
blacklist, national security agents will definitely put them through cruel
torture. Presently they are held in secret custody, and all relevant information
has been withheld.
