[Minghui Net] I suffered from enteritis and gastritis ever since I was a child, and it grew more severe over time. Since I was 45 (I am now 65), I suffered from a stomachache all the time. My bloated belly made it hard to go to bed before midnight, or to sit on a low chair. I didn't have an appetite for years. I also suffered from trigeminal nerve pain for forty years which nobody could cure. All these ailments made me wish to die. In order to cure my diseases, I had been seeing both traditional and modern doctors often for forty years. Yet whenever I saw a doctor, my head hurt. When the worst pain came, I couldn't fall asleep at all, and would spend the night walking around in the yard. The pain was so bad that I couldn't drink water for several consecutive days. I also was susceptible to colds, which I caught one after another. I really felt life was worse than death.

On February 2^nd of 1998, I borrowed a copy of Zhuan Falun. The more I read it, the more engrossed in it I became. I felt every word of the book penetrated my heart, and went even deeper, to my very marrow. Because I was so weak, usually I couldn't read a book for more than 15 minutes. I would get a headache and feel sick if I kept on reading. But I finished Zhuan Falun in only two days. Usually my appetite suffered around Spring Festival season. But the more I read Zhuan Falun, the more appetite I had. I was hungry enough to have three full meals. Almost as soon as I finished reading Zhuan Falun, I started watching Master's lectures on videos. The night after I finished the 2^nd lecture, I felt too hot to sleep. It seemed to me it was a stuffy hot summer night but actually it was one of the coldest nights of the year, and in fact, it had just snowed. I learned later that it was Master cleansing my body completely. The next morning, I went outside for a walk. I was surprised that my body felt weightless as though I could fly. My stomachache and trigeminal nerve pain were all gone! I really experienced the miraculous feeling that one has when he is free of disease. My incurable diseases, which had lasted for several decades, had ceased to exist after only four days of reading a book and watching some videos. Wasn't this a myth! It indeed could be called a myth. When I talk about what the Master did for me, it is something of mythic proportions. People might not believe these events, but they, in fact, happened to me.

Miraculous and magnificent as such a great Fa (law or principle of the universe -- translator) is, Jiang Zeming and his political gang still dared to slander it wantonly and started persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. In February 2000, because I remained steadfast to the principles "Zhen-Shan-Ren" ("Truth-Benevolence-Forbearance") and practiced at home, the police took me away from home and illegally detained me for thirty days. Then, they used the excuse that February has 28 days, and since I stayed two additional days, I had to pay for two months' room and board. In this way, they extorted a hard earned 8,500 Yuan from me , which I had planned to use for my son's wedding. In June of 2000, the director of the police substation rummaged through my home and took Dafa related reading material and a copy of a Dafa book and illegally fined me another 200 Yuan.

A few days after this happened, the vice chairman of the Political Consultation Committee came and said to me, "Are you a member of PCC?"

"Yes."

"Do you still practice Falun Gong?"

"I do."

"The authorities have regarded Falun Gong as [slanderous words omitted], why do you still practice it?"

"Because Falun Gong is a righteous Fa which teaches people to be compassionate."

"How dare you go against the Party!"

"I am not against the Party, I am just telling the truth. My intention is good."

"You are reversing their verdict!"

"It's not an issue of reversing a verdict. Good is just good and it's not determined by anyone."

"Do you want to be PCC member, or do you want to practice Falun Gong?"

"I only abide by 'Zhen-Shan-Ren' and have done nothing wrong. Why should I have to choose?"

In the end, I wrote, "Falun Dafa teaches people to be good people and raises people's morality. Therefore it benefits society. I will do my best to practice Falun Gong." I also requested the PCC of our county to tell the truth to superior institutions and then to reinvestigate Falun Gong so as to resolve the issue peacefully.

On July 20, 2000, I was illegally detained for four days by the Township authorities because I was a resolute Dafa practitioner. During that period, a person from the Education Bureau found me and asked similar questions to those above. In conclusion, he asked me, "What do you want, Falun Gong or a salary?" I answered the same way. So the Education Bureau withheld the monthly payment of my pension.

What is wrong with practicing "Zhen-Shan-Ren"? Why have the police rummaged through all the valuables from my home, and why has the Education Bureau cut off my income? How many tens of millions of practitioners like me are persecuted just because they insist on telling the truth? If the authorities want to use this means to force Dafa practitioners to give up cultivation, then they will definitely fail to achieve their goals. On the contrary, this can only make the Dafa practitioners firmer in Dafa, while at the same time let people who have been deceived see the truth of the persecution.

On December 28, 2000, being afraid that Dafa practitioners would go to Beijing to appeal, the police took me away from home and illegally detained me in town. Other practitioners and I started a hunger strike to protest their crime. Then the police took us to the county detention center , and we were detained there for 45 days. This was during Spring Festival, so we all suffered a great deal being separated from family during the holiday season. In addition, township authorities also detained me twice, each time for four days. They also monitored me for almost a year. Sometimes they went to my home to harass me three times a day.

But "Coercion Can't Change People's Hearts." Dafa disciples who know the true meaning of life will take responsibility for all the righteous factors of the universe until the end of this drama. Now I am more determined in Dafa cultivation, and like others, I am doing things a practitioner should do and striding forward on the road of Fa-rectification.
