A: --Falun Gong is a mind-body cultivation practice that teaches people to follow (or act in accordance with) the principles of "Truthfulness, Benevolence, and Forbearance." It features five sets of gentle and graceful exercises, including one for sitting meditation.

(i) Inciting fear of Falun Gong among the population by spreading lies and concealing the truth through official newspapers, radio, TV, mandatory "political studies" in the workplace, and other means controlled by its extensive propaganda machine. They continually brainwash all the unwitting Chinese people who are deprived of the opportunity to know the truth, and make them terrified of Falun Gong.

Stirring up discrimination, hatred, or even violence against Falun Gong by the so-called Lian Zuo system that operates throughout the whole Chinese society, so everyone around practitioners is considered guilty by association. [Lian Zuo: a vicious policy created by the authorities to suppress Falun Gong. To illustrate, if a Falun Gong practitioner from a certain work unit went to Beijing to appeal, the officers of that work unit and their superiors on the levels of the city, the county, or even the province would all be punished]

By depriving the opposed of their basic necessity needed to survive, Jiang's regime coerces the Chinese people into giving up their conceptions of good and evil as well as their commitment to most basic human values, so that they have to participate, against their will, in the campaign against Falun Gong. This is done in government organizations, the military, police departments, schools, enterprises, non-profit organizations, public transportation services, neighborhood councils, mental hospitals, prisons, labor camps, drug treatment centers, and intelligence agencies, and so on. Each and every citizen is forced to state publicly his stance on the issue of Falun Gong. Thus hostility towards Falun Gong is made a necessity for living a normal work and family life, and in many cases even for keeping basic human dignity. This has fundamentally destroyed social stability and the environment for further economic and cultural development.

a. The regime has set up an informal policy to "spread rumors to ruin Falun Gong's reputation, cut off practitioners' family income, and eliminate Falun Gong physically." By enforcing this policy, Jiang's regime has cut off the livelihood of millions of practitioners and their family members.

b. The Beijing government secretly ordered all levels of local governments and police

to beat practitioners relentlessly, and treat death from torture as suicide, especially for practitioners who refuse to renounce their belief. Police was also told not to identify practitioners but to cremate them immediately. No legal justifications whatsoever are given to surveil, detain, or send to labor camps Falun Gong practitioners. In addition, every lawyer in China has been explicitly warned not to accept appeal cases from Falun Gong practitioners.
