[Clearwisdom.net] Falun Dafa practitioner Wu Yueping is a Ph.D. candidate
advisor in the Philosophy Department of Jilin University. At the end of April
2001, he was illegally arrested because he distributed Falun Dafa literature in
order to dispel the official propaganda about Dafa. He was then sent to Weizigou
Labor Camp in Changchun City and was unlawfully sentenced to 2 years of forced
labor re-education. In the labor camp, Professor Wu stated many times, "It
is not a crime to practice Falun Dafa. Set us free, and restore the good name of
Falun Dafa." Professor Wu has been on a hunger strike for 12 consecutive
days, and his life is currently in danger.
Wu Yueping is the youngest Ph.D. candidate advisor at Jilin University. Jilin
is a multiversity, well known both inside China and abroad. His works have been
published in both Chinese and foreign publications on many occasions. He is well
respected in academic circles. Wu's former students can be found all over the
world. Professor Wu's students in China and overseas were all shocked and filled
with indignation upon learning that he was being held for no good reason. They
have gone into action utilizing all possible channels to request the
unconditional release of Professor Wu.
China often declares that her future development relies on science and
