Practitioners of Falun Gong will have a public meeting 4-7 p.m. Saturday at Centennial Park to talk about the Chinese government's attempts to suppress the movement in that country.

Falun Gong, also known as ''Falun Dafa,'' is a spiritual and meditative regimen that has come under increasing attack in the past several years. [...]

Practitioners say it uses meditation and [...] exercises to move energy in the body and improve health.

The presentation Saturday is part of a national awareness campaign about the Chinese government's treatment of practitioners.

After the event at the park Saturday, there will be a presentation about the practice itself from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Magical Journey Bookstore, 212 Louise Ave.
