Photo Report: Press Conference in Spain Brings Tears to Reporters' Eyes

Practitioners in Spain called an urgent press conference to bring attention to the escalating deaths of Falun Gong practitioners in China. A wide variety of press representing major television, radio, newspaper, and magazine media attended. Most of the reporters have read about Falun Gong but had little personal knowledge and were very interested to learn more.

The practitioners in Spain used their creative thinking to take full advantage of every opportunity to clarify the truth about the persecution against Falun Gong in China. As a result the press conference was very successful.

The practitioners speaking at the conference read a statement about the escalating deaths of those practitioners in forced labor camps who will not give up their beliefs. They specifically mentioned the recent case of the deaths of the 15 women at the Wanjia Labor camp as well as the horrifying abuses other female practitioners face in prison.

Ms. Zhang Cuiying spoke about her own experience of being beaten and tortured for eight months in a Chinese prison. Later a husband and wife who practice Falun Gong and are musicians, told of their personal experience of being arrested without cause and of their son who is still held in a labor camp. After their statement they played "Pudu" for the reporters attending the conference. The practitioners introduced it to the Spanish people explaining that it was Falun Dafa music that expresses the principles of "Truth, Benevolence, Forbearance". Although it is somewhat unusual to have such an activity in a press conference, the music provided a deeply moving and profound moment. Reporters attending the press conference shed tears and the local practitioners also had tears running down their cheeks. One practitioner left the room so as not to disturb the conference with his sobs. In that moment, pure righteousness filled the room and wiped away all doubts and evil thoughts. After the music stopped, everyone looked solemn and didn't speak for a moment before applauding.

Photographs of the history of Falun Gong and the victims of the persecution were placed around the room for journalists to view. The reporters were very interested and took many pictures and TV footage of the injuries of the victims and those who died.

The conference came to a successful conclusion and reporters took the time afterward to conduct personal interviews. They all expressed their sorrow that Falun Gong is being persecuted in China and thanked the practitioners for taking the time to explain the real story.
