1. Police Department Spreads Rumors about Falun Dafa Practitioners
The Police Department of Chanchun City, Jilin Province has been spreading
false rumors that Falun Dafa practitioners are planning to blow up the Changchun
City Mall around October 1. Consequently, the mall security has been on high
alert, keeping a close eye on everyone that enters the building.
2. Practitioners' Labor Camp Sentences Extended in Show Trials
Many Falun Dafa practitioners in Chaoyanggou Labor Camp in Changchun City,
Jilin Province are still being detained after serving their sentences. Those who
refuse to denounce Falun Gong have to serve 20 additional days for every month
in their original sentences. Those who have served the additional time are given
show trials and sentenced again.
Many family members of the practitioners are not allowed to visit them in the
labor camp. For those that do get a visit, the family members are not allowed to
bring them food. Practitioners are forced to perform heavy, menial labor, such
as carrying bricks. In addition, they have to endure the torture from the guards
and the inmates.
We hereby solemnly warn the officials of Chaoyanggou Labor Camp: if you
follow Jiang Zemin, "the Human Rights Scoundrel" as named by Amnesty
International, you will be judged and will pay for every bad deed that you have
committed.
3. Police Extort Money from Practitioners.
Li Yanfu and Li Bin, supervising officers in the Security Squad of the Police
Department in Xinye, Henan Province, are notorious for persecuting Falun Dafa
practitioners. They routinely use their position to extort money from
practitioners' families, forcing them to pay outrageous amounts of money to
secure the release of their loved ones.
4. Police Forcefully Arrest Practitioners
The policemen responsible for the Yuxin Apartment Complex in Xisanqi,
Beijing, have been arresting resident Falun Dafa practitioners without cause. On
the evening of June 12, 2000, they tricked nine practitioners into going to the
police station for a "chat." The practitioners were then detained.
Recently, they have become more rampant, often breaking into practitioners'
homes and taking them away to brainwashing classes or the detention center.
5. Nuclear Power Station Officials Persecute Practitioners
At the beginning of 2001, the party committee of Dayawan Nuclear Power
Station in Guangdong Province decided to forbid Falun Gong practitioner
employees from living in the housing provided by the station. The following day,
they encountered the first facilities breakdown of the year.
After the self-immolation event, the Party committee at the power station
followed Jiang Zemin's directions and initiated an active campaign denouncing
Falun Gong. They also intensified the persecution against practitioners. Soon,
two sets of assembly units broke down due to severe mechanical problems. These
units had just been repaired two months ago.
The breakdown of the units put great pressure on the Guangdong power network.
Still, the party committee of the nuclear power station didn't realize it. They
decided to send all the practitioners at the station to a brainwashing class on
June 8. On June 16, the facilities broke down again.

6. Police in Cangzhou City Illegally Detain Dafa Practitioners
Zhao Lanjun, female, was turned in by informants and arrested by the Yuhe
Police Substation for distributing Falun Dafa truth-clarifying materials. She is
currently being detained in the Second Detention Center of Cangzhou City, Hebei
province. Her elderly parents and disabled husband are left unattended.
Gao Guangjiang, male, was arrested by Donghuan Police Substation at 2:00 a.m.
on July 5 for posting truth-clarifying materials.
Li Ying, female, was arrested by the security department of Dahua TDI for
distributing Dafa truth-clarifying material. She is being detained in the Second
Detention Center.
Lin Jie, female, is an employee of Dahua TDI. The security department of the
company arrested her and put her in the Second Detention Center for distributing
Dafa truth-clarifying materials.
When the police went to her home and asked her whether she practices Falun
Gong, Zhang Xin replied that she does. The police then arrested her and sent her
to the Second Detention Center.

7. Dafa Practitioners Illegally Detained and Tortured in Chongqing
City, Sichuan Province
He Youli, male, has been detained since August 2000 for distributing
truth-clarifying material. He has been brutally beaten during the detention.
He Xiurong, female, was arrested around October 2000 and has been detained
ever since. She, too, has been severely beaten.
Wang Yan and her classmate were arrested from home by the police in December
2000. They have been held in the detention center since then.
Peng Xiuling, female, was arrested from home by the police in December 2000.
Her whereabouts are unknown.
Chen Li, female, was arrested at the end of December 2000 for distributing
truth-clarifying literature and sentenced to one year in jail.
Zheng Xiaoqin, female, was arrested at the end of December 2000 for
distributing truth-clarifying literature and sentenced to one year in jail.
Pu Zhangzhi, male, has been detained since the end of October 2000.

8. Police Arrest Dafa Practitioners in Jiamusi City
Dafa practitioner Fan Shujuan was arrested for printing Dafa truth-clarifying
materials on the evening of July 7, 2001.
Dafa practitioner Qin Zhengyong, male, 39, has not returned since he went to
Beijing to appeal on May 23, 2001. His whereabouts are unknown.
