A Washington Falun Dafa practitioner

[Minghui Net] My home is located in a small town in Hunan Province. It is a poor and isolated town. The customs and morality of the residents have deteriorated and the local officials are extremely cruel and merciless. My mother has lived a very simple life, bearing her hardships as best she could. In 1997, I introduced Falun Gong to her. From then on, this woman with little education began to volunteer to teach Falun Gong in the street. Many people benefited from this.

We did not expect Jiang and his regime to persecute Falun Gong. Since 1999, many people have been so scared to let others know that they are Falun Gong practitioners. With my help, my mother stood up for Dafa and did not compromise with the evil forces. Thus, she was considered an important person by the local officials.

On October 1, last year, my mother and another two practitioners made their way to Beijing to protect Falun Dafa. They were interrogated and examined by the policemen right after they got to the Beijing Railway Station. My mother was illegally arrested and sent back home because she was not willing to curse Master Li. The president of the county gave the order to detain her. Two weeks later, my sick father bailed my mother out of prison at the cost of 8, 000 RMB that he borrowed from many sources. Before the Chinese Spring Festival, they arrested my mother again and confisticated all her family savings. They allowed her to go home for the Chinese Spring Festival after fining her again, this time for 12,000 RMB. Furthermore, my mother was forced to "report for duty" at the local Public Security Bureau everyday during the Chinese Spring Festival. All the ordinary people felt that it was unfair. On the other hand, some people thought my mother was crazy and did not understand her and why she had to struggle with the local officials.

Those people are indeed thieves and extortionists. A week ago, mother told me on the phone that the president of that county, the one who had ordered her persecution and that of other practitioners, had been arrested for embezzling several million RMB. It is not surprising that he is the leader of the local gang. That is why the customs and morality of the local citizens has gradually been corrupted. The violent and belligerent young people do whatever they want and the tyrannical local officials support them.

Finally the people in the small town woke up a little bit. My mother will not give the corrupt officials a chance to gasp for breath. She leads the local practitioners, who insist on practicing Falun Dafa in sending forth righteous thoughts every day. She also actively calls the local police station to request them to return the extorted 20,000 RMB, and questions them as to why they illegally detained her and other local Falun Dafa practitioners. Once the head of this gang was brought to justice, his subordinates were badly damaged, too.

When I talked to my mother yesterday, she told me that the current top official had asked for her forgiveness and for her not to blame him. My mother replied, seriously, "It's not me who will blame you. Whoever does bad deeds will receive retribution. You should return the fine as soon as possible. What kind of crime did I commit?" My mother says that she can predict many things now and believes that the current head official, the one who arrested her, will be arrested soon, too. I had thought that my mother did not have a very good understanding of Falun Dafa. However, during the two-year crackdown, the one thing she never doubted was that Falun Dafa is good.

Some ordinary people who don't understand the truth may think that we take pleasure in others' misfortune, such as when the bad people receive their retribution. We don't have these kind of attachments at all. We just want people to understand the general principle that whoever does good things will be rewarded and that whoever does bad things will receive just retribution.
