The 17th The Chinese athletic meeting of the San Francisco Bay area was held on August 11, 2001. About 60 practitioners attended the opening ceremony and the tug-of-war game. Practitioners also demonstrated the five Falun Gong exercises on the stage.

When 30 practitioners carrying Dafa banners marched in front of the stage, the audience gave a big round of applause. Practitioners also won third place in the tug-of-war game. Practitioners also handed out Dafa materials at the main entrances and Falun Dafa booth.
It was a very good experience reaching out to the local Chinese community. The Dafa disciples' image has touched many everyday people as a result. á
