(Clearwisdom.net) Yang Shunhua, a woman of nearly sixty years old, is a retired employee of the Shenzhen Gardening Scientific Research Institute. Before learning Falun Dafa, she suffered from several kinds of chronic diseases. Due to a gynecological tumor, she underwent a hysterectomy. She also had nephritis, kidney stones, arteriosclerosis, an inner ear disease that made her dizzy, and other ailments. She suffered from bad health and a bad temper. Often getting angry at her husband, she was not tolerant with him, and thought about divorcing. Since 1996, when she began practicing Falun Dafa, she recovered from her various illnesses. She was happy, energetic, not tired after walking up stairs or long distances. She did all kinds of household duties, including cooking and cleaning. She remained unattached towards worldly success, and would look inside herself when meeting conflicts. Ever since she became a practitioner, her family became harmonious. She often told her fellow practitioners, "Teacher Li has saved not only my life, but also my family."

Since July 20, 1999, Falun Dafa has been viciously slandered by Jiang Zemin and the ruffians who follow him. Yang Shunhua decided to go to the central government's Appeal Office in Beijing to make a legal appeal for Falun Dafa. She was on her way there to tell her personal experience of how she had benefited from the practice when she was arrested on the street in Bejing. Refusing to tell her name, she was illegally detained for over twenty days in the Mentougou Police Station and was not released until after yet another illegal detention in Shenzhen for fifteen more days. After this, her personal freedom continued to be constrained as she was held under close residential surveillance twenty-four hours a day.

In October 2000, the policemen from Shenzhen Luohu Police Station and the police substations in this area went to her home to force her to write the so-called "guarantee letter," stating that she would give up practicing Falun Dafa. When Yang Shunhua refused, the policemen forcefully took her to the police substation and illegally locked her up. She insistently continued saying that Falun Dafa was good and refused to write the "guarantee letter." The policemen threatened her, saying that if she did not give in, she would be sent to the Guangdong Sanshui Labor Camp where, even if she did not want to, she would be forced to give up Falun Dafa.

After several days of being illegal locked up in the police substation, the policemen again illegally detained her for one month. Because she refused to give up her practice of "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance," she was sentenced to three years of forced labor in Guangdong Sanshui Labor Camp, where she is currently being held.

Guangdong Sanshui Labor Camp is a den of monsters that persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. Clearwisdom Net has exposed its evilness several times. It is a hideous place which completely blocks away the outside world, keeping prisoners in severe seclusion. The prison police do not allow the families of practitioners who refuse to be brainwashed, to visit. The police spread rumors and slander, threatening practitioners spiritually and persecuting them physically. Falun Dafa practitioners live an inhuman life in Sanshui Labor Camp.

In May 2001, news came out from Sanshui Labor Camp that Yang Shunhua was forced to give up her belief in "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance," but was still not released. Her family members were given permission to visit her once a week. The people who know her all understood that Yang Shunhua had benefited tremendously from practicing Falun Dafa. If it were not for the spiritual brainwashing and violent physical abuse, she would never do anything to harm Falun Dafa. Yang Shunhua had been very healthy for several years after starting the practice, never having to spent a penny on medical expenses. Family members, who went to visit Yang Shunhua after she was forced to give up her belief, said that she had become obviously skinny. She now constantly suffers from all kinds of illness and often feels very cold. Many friends and family members are worried about her. Will she still be alive after she is finally released?

What is the problem with an innocent elderly lady who believes in "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance" and wants to cultivate Falun Dafa? Why did they force her to give up her belief in "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance"? Here, we send a strong appeal for the immediate release of Yang Shunhua and the immediate release of all the Falun Dafa practitioners who were illegally locked up!
