Officials in Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province Persecute Dafa Practitioners

(Clearwisdom.net) On June 6, 2001, the local police in Liupanshui City ordered the illegal arrest of Ma Tianjun (male, 37-year-old) and Chen Zhongquan (male, 33-year-old), who are workers at the Shuigangguan Mine, and Li Yi (female, 26-year-old) of Jinhe Corporation for practicing Falun Dafa. As a result, they have been forced to leave their homes to this day. After they drove these three practitioners from their homes, many policemen in Liupanshui escalated their brutal, illegal restrictions and various forms of persecution against Dafa practitioners. At the same time, they harassed all the relatives of Chen Zhongquan as well as the relatives of other practitioners. They conducted an illegal house search in Chen Zhongquan's hometown and of the homes of his relatives living in the areas of Huangtupo, Shuiguang, Cement Plant and Xiaohe, etc. one after another. On many occasions, they broke into private homes and seriously disturbed the neighbors. Chen Zhongquan's colleagues, superiors and subordinates were also implicated; many of them received administrative punishments and were forced to search in all directions for Cheng's whereabouts. Moreover, it was said that Shuigangguan Mine of Liupanshui City has posted an 80,000 Yuan [about US$9,000] reward for their capture.

Around June 7, 2001, in Shuichen District of Liupanshui City, Dafa practitioners, including Wang Shouming (male, 50-year-old), Wang Yingwu (male, 50-year-old), Lai (female, 55-year-old), and Xiong (male, 40-year-old), were illegally arrested by the police. Their current condition is unclear.

Around July 14, six practitioners, including Xiong Zonghong (male, about 25-year-old) of Shuigangguan Mine, Liu Jiexian (male, 34-year-old) of Shuiguan Cement Plant, Qiu Qiong (female, 27-year-old), Li Yongbin (male, 30-years-old), Yang Zhengguo (male, 45-year-old) who lived on Shenba Street and Zhu Kaiqun (female, 36-year-old) were taken away by the police. According to a report, after they were sent to an obscure place that nobody knew of (seemed to be a mortuary), they were maliciously tortured to such an extent that at times they drifted between life and death. Their bodies were black and blue and swollen all over. It was extremely difficult for them to sit, lie down or walk. At present, only Zhu Kaiqun has been released after enduring a severe beating and torture. Over half a month has passed, and whether the other 5 are dead or alive is still unknown. Nothing was released from any of the several local detention centers and prisons. Their relatives and friends were not even allowed to inquire about them either, so they must be in critical condition.

On July 20 around 5am, Dafa practitioner Lu Yanlun (male, 50-year-old) of Shuigangguan Mine was taken away by the police from his post at the heavy-duty water pump engine room, which supplies water for the whole mine area. It was reported that the engine room was left unlocked and no one else was on duty when the police took him away. His current whereabouts are unknown.

Around July 15, practitioners Fu Youxian, Fu Kefen, Liu Hongyun and Yu, etc. of Laoyingshan Mine under the Shuicheng Mining Bureau were illegally taken away by the police. Now Liu and Yu have returned home after illegal detention; however, the other two are still missing.

Right now, the Liupanshui police are using all kinds of illegal methods including implication of practitioners' relatives, friends and their work units, and sending anyone involved to jail. They send many at a time, in their continuing persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners and their families. I hope fellow practitioners in the Liupanshui area and all other fellow practitioners who have witnessed this situation will send out their righteous thoughts to eliminate the evils and immediately stop their persecution of Dafa practitioners and other innocent people.
