1. Falun Gong Practitioner Deng Weinan from Bayan County, Heilongjiang Province was Tortured to Death by Police

On July 30, 2001, Harbin City Police arrested Dafa practitioner Deng Weinan, a resident of Bayan County, Heilongjiang Province. On August 3, the police informed Deng's family of his death. Details of this case are unknown and under investigation.

2. Falun Gong Practitioner Zhu Hua from Xinjiang Autonomous Region was Tortured to Death

Falun Gong practitioner Zhu Hua, male, died while in police custody. The exact time and location of his death are not clear. Officials from Urumqi Political and Legal Committee and the Civil Affairs Bureau went to Mr. Zhu's house and informed his mother of his death. The officials lied, saying Zhu had committed suicide. Zhu's mother said, "My son would never commit suicide."

Police illegally arrested Zhu Hua and another practitioner, Fan Wei, during a train ride to Hami City (time and date unknown). Fan Wei is an employee at the Second Construction Company in Urumqi City. He is now detained at Manasi Prison.
