This Saturday, August 18th, at noon a press conference will mark the beginning of a twelve day, around-the-clock Sit-In in front of the Chinese Consulate in San Francisco. From then on different practitioners will sit in meditation for one hour each, together forming a 265 hour meditation streak.

This sit in will pay tribute to those who have been killed in the persecution. We will take a step in exposing the death cases to the media. Each hour represents one practitioner. This practitioner's picture will be displayed and the practitioner's story will be read several times. Throughout the twelve days, Bay Area practitioners will continue the SOS call, with an emphasis on rescuing Dr. Teng Chunyan.

Activities will begin Saturday at 11am with a car parade and exercise demonstration.

To share a few ways of understanding the purpose of this event:

• To show the evil that we know what it has been doing and we are here to let everyone know in detail.
• To show everyone that Dafa is strong in spite of the persecution - for every practitioner that was tortured to death there is another one sitting here.
• To have a special opportunity to reflect on what it means to go beyond life and death. We can ponder on how these practitioners were able to let go of their attachments and face the evil with bravery and steadfastness. Practitioners get to familiarize themselves with at least one case.
• Allows non-practitioners an ongoing chance to show support. Everyday people can match a face with the persecution.
