At 12pm on August 19, 2001 PST, practitioners from the San Francisco Bay Area started a 263 hour relay silent sitting in front of the Chinese Consulate to commemorate those practitioners who lost their lives in the past two-year persecution of Falun Gong. They call on kind-hearted people to join them to be against the most brutal persecution in the history.

US representative Nancy Pelosi sent her speech to the press conference. Amnesty International also sent a representative to attend the press conference. Local major press covered the event.

Every hour, a practitioner will read the story of a deceased fellow practitioner and display his or her photo.
