Who Exactly is the One Disrupting Social Order?
By a practitioner in Liaoning Province, China
(Clearwisdom.net) Let's hope that our sacrifices will awaken the dormant
conscience of people around the world.
Li Shuying lives in Sandaohezi Village of Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province.
She is 45-years-old. In October 2000, while she was working in the fields, she
was summoned to a police station and was asked if she would continue practicing
Falun Gong. Since she replied "Yes, I will!" She was then taken to a
detention center, charged with the "crime" of "disrupting social
order," and illegally detained for 2 months. After about a month after her
release, the police began to frequently visit her house, where they would harass
her and ransack her belongings. Because they found some Dafa materials in her
house, on January 13, 2001, the police unlawfully locked her in a detention
center, which is where she is currently confined. Li Shuying's family is poor.
Before she was detained, Li lived with her husband, an 85-year-old
father-in-law, and a 17-year-old son who is still in school. Li's long-term
detention makes her family's condition dire because her husband is the only
other breadwinner in the family. Now, there is no one to take care of her
father-in-law and prepare the meals.
Su Huijun is a 46-year-old woman who lives in Lingbei Village of Lingyuan
City. She is a widow with 3 children; two of whom are still in school. Su
exercised her constitutional right as a citizen by traveling to Beijing to
appeal to the authorities about Falun Dafa in November 2000, but was illegally
arrested, escorted back, and has been detained since then. Her three children
are still neglected due to her detention.
As 53-year-old Li Liming and 38-year-old Hu Yenrong of Beilu Village failed
in their attempts to appeal to the authorities, they posted truth-clarifying
literature about Falun Dafa instead. As a result, they were illegally arrested
and have been detained for as long as 5 months. They are still being held in
police custody.
Han Cuirong lives in Daoerdeng Village. Without permits, the local police
randomly broke into her home, ransacked it, and took away her Dafa books.
Because 68-year-old Han Cuirong treasures her Dafa books, she went to the police
station in January 2000 to ask for them, and she ended up being charged with
"disrupting social order" and, subsequently, she was unlawfully
detained.
The reason why practitioners are so steadfast in their beliefs and continue
to exercise their right to appeal is that Falun Gong not only helps each
practitioner achieve physical health, it also elevates one's morals and
encourages one to be good. It is ironic that these practitioners, who are such
good people, have received neither support nor protection; on the contrary, they
have been arrested, beaten, and illegally detained. Actually, it is this
inhumane treatment that has resulted in the breakdown of families and the
turbulence throughout society. People are living in constant danger and fear.
Content, affluent and healthy citizens are the foundation of a wealthy and
stable nation. Why not allow the people to have a healthy body and a secure
family? By persecuting its own people, who exactly is the one that's disrupting
the social order?
