A Belated Account from a Detained Practitioner
by a Falun Dafa practitioner (Clearwisdom.net)
Greetings, fellow practitioners. Let me give a brief account of what has been
happening to the Falun Dafa practitioners illegally detained in Baimalong Labor
Camp in Zhuzhou City, Hunan Province.
On February 5, 2001, practitioners Xiong Ruilian (female) and Peng Daohui
(female) were illegally sentenced and sent to Baimalong Labor Camp. When they
began to meditate in the lotus position, the police guards dragged them down off
their beds, cuffed their hands and hung them, feet dangling, from the iron-bar
window. Sick and vomiting, dripping with tears and sweat, they hung for about
one hour before the guard removed the handcuffs. Every day, for ten days or
more, the practitioners were hung like that, either to the iron-bar window, or
to the iron rod of the bed. Some were cuffed with both hands to the bed frame of
the lower berth so they had to kneel down on both knees.
On or about February 10, as punishment for studying Fa and practicing the
exercises, all 70 practitioners, with a few exceptions, were handcuffed and hung
up by the wrists. Some police guards even forcefully pulled, pressed, and
gripped the handcuffs, increasing the pain and causing the practitioners' wrists
to bleed. Many of the handcuffed practitioners lost their bowel and bladder
control, excreting and urinating in their pants. Peng Daohui was one such
person. After the guard ignored her request to use the bathroom, she lost
consciousness, became incontinent and excreted in her pants. Acquiescing to the
strong demand of the other practitioners, the guard released Peng Daohui and
another practitioner who wanted to use the bathroom. The rest of the
practitioners remained handcuffed and hanging.
After supper, all had to go to the TV room. Practitioners who recited Falun
Dafa articles were ordered by the guards to stand up while reciting. In the
freezing cold of February, they were forced to stand up for a whole night. They
were denied any sleep. Those who couldn't endure it any longer fell asleep on
the floor of the cold TV room. Many practitioners sat in a circle on the floor
in meditation. The guards kicked them, dragged them apart and beat them up. The
next night, the guards adopted more severe methods, forcing practitioners to
stand up for the whole night, not allowing them to sleep on the floor any more.
This went on every day for a long time. Practitioners endured great agony; they
were tortured to the point of exhaustion.
One day, a female practitioner was reciting the Falun Dafa articles. After
yelling at her to stop, the guard put a sock into her mouth, forcing it down her
throat. The practitioner's eyes bulged from choking. The guard asked her
viciously, "Are you going to recite any more? " Eyes popping out, she
couldn't produce a sound. Later, other practitioners dug the sock out from her
throat.
At the beginning of March (probably on March 3rd or 4th), a practitioner was
handcuffed and hung up as before, from morning until lunchtime, for doing Falun
Gong exercises.) In the afternoon, she didn't say "Yes" at roll call,
so they continued to handcuff and hang her up until suppertime. After supper,
because she didn't follow the orders of the guard in the TV room, she was cuffed
and hung again until 4:00 a.m. the following morning. The rest of the
practitioners were forced to stand there with her and they recited articles of
Dafa. The guard wouldn't allow the practitioners to sleep even at 4:00 a.m. They
finally removed the handcuffs from the practitioner, who was shaking all over
and losing consciousness. Many practitioners were still not allowed to sleep,
only to sit at the edge of the bed.
One practitioner who didn't follow orders was dragged out by the policemen
and shocked with an electrical baton. She has been shocked countless times.
The events described took place in the "strict team" (where
practitioners are treated more severely), but the same kinds of torture also
occurred in the regular teams. As long as the practitioners study the Falun Gong
articles or do the exercises, the policemen beat them.
For instance, on March 23, the practitioners in Team Two didn't answer roll
call. The policemen kicked them, dragged them into the office, and shouted that
they would torture them to death. Each practitioner received electric shocks and
was forced to "Guapai" (note: to wear a sign with one's name around
one's neck.). Two practitioners, Hu Yuehui and Wu Aijun, were taken to a
small room on the hill and were beaten up for a whole day. Afterwards, it was
hard to find any unbroken skin on Hu's body. There were swollen black bruises
from the electrical baton on the thighs and around the mouth and eyes. It was
horrible to look at. There were also bruises from punches and kicks. Other
practitioners were also hurt to varying degrees.
On March 5, the practitioners detained in the "strict team" went on
a hunger strike, protesting their persecution and demanding an unconditional
release. On the evening of March 9, the policemen responded: they violently
thrust a 3-inch long round bamboo pipe, with one end cut into a bevel opening,
into the practitioners' throats and force-fed them. Many practitioners almost
died in the process. The agony of choking was beyond words. The guards
handcuffed many practitioners, tied them up, and force-fed them, or gave them an
intravenous solution. On the afternoon of March 12, Zuo Shuchun, a female
practitioner, was whisked away by the policemen after being force-fed. Her whole
body, including her face, was covered with a blanket; only one arm hung out. All
demanded to see her, but were refused. The chief officer of a team said at that
time that something went wrong with the force-feeding and Zuo Shuchun was taken
to receive IV drip (a medical treatment to treat the problem that occurred
during the force-feeding.) No one has heard anything about her since.
(Practitioners inferred, from what they had seen and heard, that she might have
died. According to some authorities in her hometown, she has died, and her
family was ordered not to break the news to the public.) Only after this
incident did the policemen stop the inhumane force-feeding. Instead, they held
the practitioners down or tied them up, forcing them to receive intravenous
feeding. Many practitioners vomited blood afterwards. Later, every practitioner
on hunger strike was taken to the office and shocked with the electrical baton.
After a round of shocking, the policemen would ask, "Will you eat or
not?" Those who said "No" or didn't answer would be shocked again
on the mouth and other parts of the body.
During the past two years, Falun Dafa and its practitioners have suffered
vicious persecution, none more severely than those illegally detained in
Baimalong Labor Camp . Baimalong is virtually isolated from the world and no
information can get out. There have been no articles about the persecution in
Baimalong on Clearwisdom.net, although practitioners have been beaten up or
tortured everyday. Drug addict inmates, who are enlisted by the guards to watch
the practitioners, also berate the practitioners and give them lectures every
day. The most frequently used instrument of torture is the electrical baton.
According to the severity of torture, the teams are divided into
"specially strict team," "strict team," and "regular
team." Practitioners detained in "specially strict team" are
being tortured everyday. They endure more and lose more for Dafa.
We practitioners detained in "strict team" are not allowed to have
visits from our families. Nor can we have paper or pen. We are body searched
from time to time. The letters we write or receive are censored by the police
guard. All news is prevented from leaking out. The police guards became fiercer
in 2001 than they were in 2000. (This report concerns only what they have done
recently, in this year.) Please let people know the darkness of this place. We
must expose this evil to the world and eliminate it.
We remember some of the registered numbers of those policemen who especially
torture Dafa practitioners: 4329158, 4329032, and 4329138.
