Falun Gong Practitioners Receive Recognition for their Urgent Rescue Campaign New Jersey practitioners
(Clearwisdom.net) On the afternoon of August 16, over 60 Falun Gong
practitioners from New Jersey came to Trenton to attend a ceremony held in front
of the state government building. The Falun Gong practitioners who returned from
walking on the urgent rescue campaign were calling on all levels of government
and all good people of the world to take action and help stop the Chinese
government's suppression of Falun Gong.
Before the ceremony began, practitioners held a parade in the downtown area
of Trenton, which lasted nearly one hour. They held up banners and signs, and
also distributed flyers and brochures that introduced the urgent rescue
campaign's purpose to the people along the street. They also took the
opportunity to clarify the truth about the persecution to passers-by.
The ceremony started at 12 o'clock. State Councilor Reed Gusciora delivered
the first speech, followed by Mr. Carroll, the representative of US Congressman
Chris Smith, and continued with Mr. Brian Donahue, the representative of
Congressman Michael Ferguson. They highly praised the five New Jersey Falun Gong
practitioners who participated in the urgent rescue walk, and they also strongly
denounced the Chinese government's brutal suppression of Falun Gong. They each
requested that the Chinese government immediately stop the vicious suppression
of Falun Gong.
Speeches were given by 19-year old New Jersey practitioner Erin Elliot, by
the mother of Chen Gang, who has been sent to labor camp, and by Falun Gong
practitioner Amy Lee, who was detained and tortured by the Chinese government.
Erin Elliot said in her speech that she participated in the walk because a
Chinese Falun Gong practitioner of the same age had been tortured to death. She
thus pledged to help rescue Falun Gong practitioners. The speech of Mrs.Chen,
the mother of Chen Gang, represented the call from thousands of mothers whose
Falun Gong practitioner children have been arbitrarily detained and tortured.
They requested that the Chinese government immediately release their children.
Amy disclosed some facts about the inhumane persecution of Falun Gong
practitioners by the Chinese government with her personal experiences.
The last speakers were Falun Gong practitioner Teng Chunyan's student, Prof.
Lorraine Kabacinski and the chairman of the "Friends of Falun Gong,"
Mr. Alan Adler. They called on all levels of New Jersey's government and all
citizens of the world to take action and help stop the Chinese government's
suppression of Falun Gong, and to let New Jersey resident Teng Chunyan and Mrs.
Chen's son regain their freedom as soon as possible.
During this event , New Jersey Falun Gong practitioners received more than
ten proclamations from the different levels of New Jersey's government. In the
ceremony, the representative of Falun Gong practitioners announced some of the
proclamations.
Eight media agencies covered this event, including New Jersey's largest
newspaper, Star-Ledger, New Jersey Net TV Station (NJN) and
pan-America's largest Chinese newspaper, The World Daily.
The ceremony ended successfully at one o'clock in the afternoon.
