Consul General of the People's Republic of China,

We, Falun Gong practitioners in Scotland, the United Kingdom, hereby submit our appeal letter to the Consulate of the People's Republic of China in Edinburgh. We earnestly request that you, in line with justice and conscience, forward the following appeal from the very bottom of our hearts to the Chinese government:

1. Immediately stop the cruel and bloody persecution of Falun Gong practitioners;
2. Stop spreading the venomous lies, publicize the true story of Falun Gong, and rehabilitate the reputation that Falun Gong and Mr. Li Hongzhi deserve;
3. Arrest and prosecute the criminal gang headed by Jiang Zemin and Luo Gan, and let everyone of them get due punishments according to their crimes.

Since Falun Dafa was made public by Mr. Li Hongzhi in 1992, tens of millions of people around the world have improved their physical health and moral standards significantly through the practice. Falun Gong's health benefits have helped China save huge amounts of medical expenses, and its strong emphasis on the cultivation of one's heart and moral qualities has also contributed to the well-being and stability of the society as a whole. However, in 1999, Jiang Zemin, President of the People's Republic of China, launched a bloody campaign to demonize and eradicate Falun Gong, only because of his paranoid obsession with retaining power and the resulting fear of the number of people following this beneficial spiritual practice. The scale and brutality of this now two-year-old persecution have been compared to that of the Cultural Revolution.

During the past two years, 255 practitioners have been tortured to death, hundreds more sentenced to serve jail terms, more than 50 thousand thrown into labour camps or even psychiatric hospitals. However, the persecution has not achieved the results Jiang Zemin dreamed of. On one hand, practitioners in China are still persisting in their unshakable faith. On the other hand, in these two years, Falun Dafa has been spreading even more rapidly in Europe, America, and other parts of the world, and won recognitions and respect world-wide.

Unwilling to accept his doomed failure, Jiang Zemin and his gang have grown more and more crazy, and have given up their last semblance of human conscience. They have been staging ugly performances and making slanderous attacks in order to justify the escalation of the persecution. And the intensified crackdown has caused one tragedy after another, at an alarmingly increasing pace.

On June 20, just over two weeks ago, the violence reached yet another peak. On this single day, 15 women were slaughtered by policemen at Wanjia Labour Camp, Harbin. In the same month, as many as 35 Falun Gong practitioners were known to have been cold-bloodedly tortured to death. And that number cannot be exhaustive, as information like this is strictly controlled by the authorities.

Such atrocity cannot be allowed to continue any further!

We hope that you, employed by a so-called "people's government" as "public servants", could genuinely consider the interest of the people, the society and the nation, as well as the justice, morality and conscience of the humanity, and resist this irrational persecution.

Good or evil, everyone will get due retribution in due time, and no one can escape from this principle. It's hard to imagine what retribution might be rendered to those who participate in the evil persecution of Falun Dafa. We hope that all people with conscience, including those working in the Chinese government, could work together to stop the torture and killing in China. Hand in hand, we'll be working together for a brighter future for the people, the nation, and the human race.
