From Practitioners in China

(Clearwisdom.net) During the period around July 20, 1999, there were five Dafa practitioners in Jiangsu province under surveillance at home. They were Ma Chenyu (practice site assistant), Wang Jianbin, Pang Hao, Bao Sunyuan and brother of Wang Jianbin (from Nantong city). At the time, many practitioners had gone to provincial office to appeal for the release of practitioners. Some practitioners directly went to Beijing to appeal. At the time around October 1999, many of Jiangsu's practitioners had stepped forward. They had either gone to Beijing and practiced the exercises in public or distributed Dafa material. Some practitioners were immediately detained. At the end of 1999, some of the practitioners who were illegally sent to labor camps were Cao Ziyun, Lin Yi (Xinyi village of Xuzhou city), Zhang Aihong (sentenced), Cheng Xiuying (bailed out for medical treatment), Kang Wei (Changzhou City), You Xingen (Wu County of Suzhou City), Ni Qinghua (Quanshan of Suzhou City), Chen Guanhui (Lianyun Harbor), and Huang Changxiang. There were also certain people being detained.

In the spring of 2000, there were practitioners from Jiangsu Province who went to Beijing to raise Falun Dafa banners. Most of the practitioners who raised banners were illegally sent to labor camps. Normally those who went to the appeal office would be detained for 15 days (certain areas have illegally detained practitioners for 30 days), some were sent to mental hospitals. In the month of October of 2000, a great number of practitioners from the Jianshu area went to Beijing. The majority of them were sent to brainwashing classes after their return. Those who maintained a strong and firm belief in Dafa were sent to labor camps.

Most of the male Dafa practitioners were detained at the Feng Qiang Labor Camp at Da Feng in the city of Yancheng, Jiangsu Province. Female practitioners were locked up at Judong Labor Camp in Jiangjian city. In the labor camp, many brainwashing methods were used on Dafa practitioners. They forced practitioners to take on overloaded and unbearable physical work. They tortured practitioners by forcing them to stand still for long periods of time, not letting them sleep and using electric batons to brutally beat Dafa practitioners. They illegally prolonged Dafa practitioners' detainment period. Recently, it was heard that no release would be granted to those practitioners who retained their belief while in the labor camp. Since June, those who had finished the detainment still were not released.

Policemen from the local police station always interfered with those practitioners who stayed home. They deceived and kidnapped practitioners into brainwashing classes. In October 2000, the 610 Office (An office specially formed to persecuted Falun Gong practitioners) in Judong Village started a brainwashing class. The practitioners in the brainwashing class were mostly from Nanjing area and had gone to Beijing to appeal. There the practitioners joined together and started a hunger strike to protest the 610 office illegal persecution. Practitioners have effectively suppressed the evil. In December of 2000, a brainwashing class was started in Fangqiang Labor Camp at Dafeng, Nantong area. According to the policemen from prison, in the month of October, practitioners from Nanjing and Nantong City were the largest number amongst those who had gone to Beijing.

It was said that there were more than 100 male Dafa practitioners detained in Fangqiang Labor Camp and more than 100 female Dafa practitioners in Judong Labor Camp. Besides those Dafa practitioners listed above, many practitioners from Jiangsu Province were also being persecuted. Details follow:

Li Xuqin (Nanjing City) was locked up in Qinglong Mental Hospital in Nanjing because he went to Beijing to appeal. He would not be released if he did not write a guarantee letter.

Zan Xinmau (Jiangdou City) was illegally sentenced to one year in a labor camp for his appeal to the government in Beijing. He was locked up in the mental hospital of Jiangdou County after he finished his term in the labor camp.

Tang Xueyong (Sheyang City) was illegally sentenced to one year in a labor camp for his appeal in Beijing. He continued support Falun Dafa and was caught while distributing flyers. He is currently in a detention center.

The following is a list of practitioners who are presently detained in labor camps:

Nanjing City: Bao Sunyuan, Jiang Zhong, Wan Yuanshang, Wan Yuanzhen (sister of Wan Yannshang), Dai Xiaomin, Duan Xiangdi, Zheng Zhixing, Ge Hongmei, Zheng Zhixing, Liu Wutang, Pang Hao, Pang Qian (daughter of Pang Hao), Zhang Aidong, Wang Ting, Pan Rujing

Nantong City: Chen Hanchang, Gao Yixin, Hua Jiangguo, Di Jinhua

Chenjiang City: Lu Bagen, Guan Zhenming

Yancheng City: Gao Jiayun, Yan Jihua, Li Qing

Suzhou City: Zhen Feng, Cao Jianzhong

Changzhou City: Tang Jianxin, Gao Zhifang (Has been illegally sent to labor camp twice)

Yangzhou City: Chen Guoliang, Wang Changhua

Taizhou City: Huang Weilin

Huaiyin: Zhang Zuying (practice site assistant, sentenced 3 years), Zheng Changming

(Sentence is 2 years)

Lianyun Harbor: Yuan Ghunli (sentenced 2 years), Du Xiuju (sentenced 1 year), Jiao

Jiaqian (sentenced 2 years), Zheng Jun (practice site assistant), Shen

Songtao (sentenced, detained at detention center, final verdict was not

announced)

Following practitioners were sent to mental hospitals:

Sheyang of Yan City: Tang Xuebin

Countless of practitioners were illegally detained and sent to brainwashing classes.

Zhang Zhengang (from Huai An)
