By a practitioner in China

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a city government office clerk in Southern China, and have been practicing Falun Dafa for several years. On January 1, 2001, together with seven other practitioners of various ages, we held up two 15-meter long (50 foot) banners at Jinshui Bridge, in Tiananmen Square. Hundreds of Chinese people and dozens of foreign tourists witnessed the scene. We went on a hunger strike together during the illegal detention that followed. Eleven days later, I resumed the Fa-rectification activities, after being released.

Now I would like to share the experience of how I initially began to introduce my coworkers to Falun Dafa. If I made any mistakes, please point them out.

The section that I was transferred to in September 2000 was a big one with about twenty clerks, one Section Chief and two Section Vice Chiefs. Since first starting work there, I had always been willing to help others, and all my colleagues said that I was amiable. Whenever people thanked me or praised me for what I had done, I would reply that I was a Falun Dafa practitioner and that all of our practitioners were good people.

Once, the three chiefs had become engaged in a loud quarrel. Their contentions were serious, and could have impacted the interests and work of everyone in the section. With the pure heart of a practitioner, I decided to mediate the squabble. So I spoke to each of the chiefs separately, using the wisdom of Falun Dafa. I conferred with them for a whole day and, in the end, they all realized their mistakes. They wanted to correct these misunderstandings, so they called a sectional meeting in which they all examined their own mistakes and asked the rest of us to share our opinions. Somehow, they all referred to me as the one who had solved the problem, and they greatly appreciated my efforts.

I was deeply moved by the results because I knew that Falun Dafa had awakened their consciousness. Thinking I should take advantage of this opportunity to publicly spread Falun Dafa to them, when it was my turn, I solemnly said, "You all thanked me and thought it was I who solved the problem. However, the truth is, it is the power of Falun Dafa that solved the contradictions. I am a Falun Gong practitioner. I talked to our chiefs about the principles of Falun Dafa, and they realized their mistakes. I always follow these principles in my daily life. People who practice Falun Dafa are all good people who always care for others and consider others before themselves. Regardless of what the government says about us, they are unable to change the essence of Falun Dafa. The thing that happened here today just proved the greatness of Falun Dafa to all of us."

Everyone in the section warmly applauded my speech and, again, I felt that everyone had righteous thoughts in their hearts. So anyone can understand what Falun Dafa really is, if they are approached in an appropriate manner. Whatever slanderous materials the government media may disseminate, we can always clarify the truth with our good deeds in our own individual environments. Actually, it is a very effective way to validate Falun Dafa.

Soon after this event, I asked for personal leave time to go to Beijing, where I made an appeal to higher authorities. When I was released from the detention center, I returned to my original workplace, but found that I had been transferred to another section. The chiefs often held meetings in which they distributed documents on, and prohibition orders of Falun Dafa. Although some of the chiefs may have had many shortcomings, they still had some compassion at the bottom of their hearts because they never reported me to higher authorities or to the police department.

In my new section, I still followed my previous way of doing things. When there was a janitorial position open, I recommended another practitioner from another province to take the position. We came to work early, and returned home late. Before office hours in the morning, we practiced the exercises and introduced our colleagues to the Fa, based on their specific situations. Soon afterwards, the number of people in the section who practiced the exercises in the morning increased to three, four and then five. One of my colleagues, who had just obtained the Fa, thought it was so great that he requested a personal leave to go back to his hometown, in order to introduce Falun Dafa to his parents and the rest of his family. The result was a pleasant surprise. Instead of objecting to it, his family started to learn Falun Dafa and the exercises, accepting the books, Zhuan Falun, and Great Perfection Way of Falun Buddha Law, and all the other truth-clarifying materials he had brought.

Of course, it is impossible for all people to practice Falun Dafa. However, with compassion in our hearts, we still distribute truth-clarifying materials to everyone. In a special situation, we even publicly showed the videotape of "The Truth of the 'Self-Immolation Incident' in Tiananmen Square" to my section, and they were all shocked by the truth. To clarify the truth to people is to save them. Now we are doing it almost publicly whenever we read Falun Dafa books, study the Fa, clarify the truth or distribute literature. Though not all of the people in my section are practitioners, they all know the greatness of the Fa and are aware of the crimes committed by Jiang Zemin's political gang.

During this period of spreading the Fa, I have come to understand the extreme importance of taking advantage of every opportunity to introduce Falun Dafa to our friends and colleagues, and to create a righteous micro-environment for cultivation. I believe that the macro-environment of society will change, if each of us makes certain not to overlook any opportunity to spread the Fa to our friends, colleagues and acquaintances.
