Give up Attachments, Oppose Everything Arranged by the Evil

(Clearwisdom.net) Last night I had a dream. In the dream, as I was walking, a strange voice asked me, "Are you a Dafa practitioner? There is a very dirty place. Do you dare to go there? You practitioners follow the principle of Tolerance. Can you tolerate such filth?" I answered, "I'm not afraid of dirt. Where is it?" "It's just ahead." I kept going forward. Gradually the land under my feet became desolate, then full of filth. I was bogged down in the filth, deeper and deeper, from my feet to my knees, then to my waist. I saw some people who couldn't walk out of this place and died, with only their skeletons left. The evil voice kept saying to me, "Dare you go further?" I kept going. At last I arrived at an extreme filthy place. The filthy stuff, which made me sick, was endless and everywhere around me. I almost vomited several times, although I was not afraid of it. My main consciousness reminded me that I am a god and I am not afraid of anything. I felt better. It seemed the filthy stuff could not stick to my clothes. Finally I saw it was too filthy and I decided to leave. I was back on the clean land I originally stood on. The evil voice sounded again, "You said you were not afraid. Why did you get out?" I answered, "I am not afraid. But it is too filthy there. How can my clean, godly body be soaked in that dirty stuff?" The evil voices kept saying something, but I paid no attention to it at all. It disappeared eventually. Then I woke up.

After I woke up, I kept wondering why I unconsciously followed that evil voices to that filthy and dangerous place. I found there was a selfish notion hidden deeply in my mind. I always thought that I could not be called a genuine practitioner with certainty unless I had experienced the brainwashing class or a sentence in a labor camp. Sometimes when I saw that some practitioners had enlightened along an evil path under the persecution in the vicious environment, I had the thought that I would like to experience it myself in order to prove that I am a genuine practitioner and better than them. Because of this attachment deep in my mind - the mixed mentalities of pursuit, showing-off and competition, I accepted the evil's arrangement unconsciously in the dream. When I thought about it afterwards, I felt it was really dangerous. The root of this attachment is selfishness. As practitioners, to oppose everything arranged by the evil forces, we should first of all have righteous minds ourselves and fundamentally eliminate all attachments so that the evils cannot take advantage of them.

Compared to Dafa, the mentality of pursuit, especially the pursuit of personal consummation, is nothing. Dafa creates everything in the cosmos. How can we think of everything based on our personal consummation? The beings at one level will not exist if there is no Fa at that level. One day I was reading "The Issue of Treating Illness" (Lecture 7 of Zhuan Falun), "We do not treat illnesses. Why did we do it? Because this was to support a major, state-run Qigong event, and to contribute to this cause we participated in it." I suddenly understood the relationship between the Fa and beings in the Fa. To ordinary people illness is feeling sick; to higher beings, isn't deviation from the Fa also illness? The Fa is the foundation of all beings and the reason of existence of all beings and their realms. The Fa is not used to treat illnesses for ordinary people or for those higher beings who have deviated from the Fa. It can treat illnesses but the living beings should not come to make use of the Fa in order to treat illness, or in order to reach consummation. The beings assimilated to the Fa standard of their realms would not think of their own consummation, only those who deviated from the Fa would, so this is also illness. How can we treat the Fa with such a purpose? Compared to the Fa, we are so very, very small. We can only keep assimilating into the Fa. How can we purposely think to gain something from the Fa?

The deep, hidden mentality of showing off is an even worse habit of selfishness that should not be kept. Those who have written the "guarantee" statements, "brainwashing" statements or "exposing and criticizing" statements are facing terrible futures. The persecution of these lives is also the persecution of Dafa. How can we have show-off thoughts when seeing the evil killing these lives?

The attachment of complacency is often utilized by demons. Teacher has said that the desire to show off plus the attachment of complacency are most easily exploited by demons. An enlightened being should not have any human notions. During the Fa-rectification, I also found that the attachment of complacency often mixed with the mentality of intending to do things. While we are reading the book, we often think of many other things and cannot calm down. This is interference from demons and can cause damage to Fa-rectification. Whenever I encounter such a situation I calm myself down, study the Fa seriously, and think over what the problem is. Teacher said, "No matter how busy you are, you cannot neglect Fa study. This is what fundamentally assures your moving towards Consummation and doing Dafa work well" (Teacher's article "To All Students at the Nordic Fa Conference", 6/17/2001). When I read the book sincerely I find that every word in the book emits energy and clears all kinds of human notions in my mind.

Teacher has said, "As a Dafa disciple, in the current situation, you should clarify the truth and expose the evils to safeguard Dafa." ("Suggestion", 4/10/2001, unofficial translation) Teacher also told us, "A Dafa disciple completely opposes everything arranged by the evil old forces. Clarify the truth thoroughly, eliminate the evil with righteous thoughts, save all beings, and safeguard the Fa with determination..."("Dafa is Indestructible", 6/23/2001) During the course of our cultivation, we should always have righteous thoughts and righteous belief in Dafa and use the abilities with which the Fa has endowed us to "Validate the Fa with reason, clarify the truth with wisdom, spread the Fa and offer people salvation with benevolence--this is establishing the mighty virtue of an enlightened being." ("Rationality", 8/9/2000)

We all come from tens of thousands of remote cosmic bodies. In the period of Fa-rectification we are ascending towards the summit of our original realm. We should be responsible to all sentient beings under our highest original realm and responsible to the future of the universe. During the Fa-rectification, every practitioner who cultivates in different environments and situations to reach a certain level of Fa standard, will become the guardian of the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" in the cosmic bodies at different levels. "In different historic times of the future, if damage occurs to Dafa in the cosmos or when beings perform differently, how Dafa will rectify the Fa and make everything perfect and indestructible is extremely important."("What Are Supernormal Abilities", 6/14/2001) We must give up our egos and safeguard the Fa with our lives. It is the duty that the Fa endows to us; it is our great opportunity; it is also the fulfillment of our own vows. Teacher encourages us, "Disciples, be diligent! Everything that's the most magnificent and the most wonderful is developed in the process of your validating Dafa. Your vows will become a testaments of your future." (Teacher's article, "Fa-Rectification Period Dafa Disciples," 8/15/2001) Let us advance diligently, and together greet the magnificent moment when the Fa-rectification comes to the human world.
