Notes from 15 Day SOS RescueWalk around Britain

Greeting Master, Greeting fellow practitioners,

My name is Libei Guo. I'm from Oxford. My daughter and I started the 15-day "SOS RescueWalk" around Britain, on 6th August. During the journey, we had another little practitioner, Ben Chen, join in, as did Qiang Zhang, Jidong Duan, Xiaolan Zhang, Phillip Bateman and Jinfei Zhang. We have stopped in 61 cities and towns and traveled for 1,985 miles to date. We have talked to dozens of Mayors, Mayors' secretaries, and local councillors; in addition, dozens of radio stations, and local newspapers have interviewed us. When we talked to the reporters face to face, I felt that they understood the three words "truthfulness, compassion and forbearance," even if they would not report us this time. It may lay a foundation for our future activities of Fa rectification. The following are a few thoughts of mine.

1. Keep righteous thoughts, eliminate evil all the time

Recently, the evil forces are becoming crazy. They use every opportunity possible to interfere with us. If we do not keep righteous thoughts all the time, we might be used immediately. But when our righteous thoughts are very strong, without any space left for the evil, we can do what we want successfully.

On the first day when we set off, I did not eliminate the evil immediately because of the human notion of comfort. Thus, the pre-arranged interview with a newspaper reporter in Reading was cancelled because of my impure mind. That night, staying in the car, I could not fall asleep. I kept checking myself and sending righteous thoughts.

During the rest of the journey, I heard a voice twice saying, "send forth righteous thoughts." It sounded like Master's voice. I kept reminding others and myself about this. Every time we stopped in a city, we sent righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil elements there. On the way to local governments, media and libraries, I felt the magnificent and great mighty virtue of Dafa many times while holding a banner in front of my chest. One night, about 11 pm, we were heading to our last destination on a narrow and winding road. There was an extremely heavy fog. A lot of times, it seemed that we could not go any further. We all kept sending forth righteous thoughts, especially the two little practitioners, who sat in the back seats with their legs double crossed all the time until we went onto the motorway safely.

2. Everything has been arranged by Master's Fashen

Master's Fashen can arrange everything whenever our hearts are pure and in the Fa. It seemed that we have acquired a lot of experiences through the journey. Actually, Master's Fashen had arranged for all of our experiences. Only when we treated ourselves as real enlightened beings in Fa rectification, could these arrangements clearly manifest. Master gave us hints in every possible way; nothing happened accidentally. We found that we could get to the main reception of the town hall straight away in some cities, while in others, we had to walk around and around the building. When we stopped in a small city one night at 10 o'clock, there was a big activity opposite the town hall. Many young people had gathered there, dressed in party clothes. One little practitioner and myself went to deliver the letter to the Mayor while the other two held the banners sending forth righteous thoughts to them. We could not find the mailbox of the town hall until we had walked around the big building twice. We felt it was arranged for us to stay longer to eliminate the demons there. At first, several people made faces and whistled at us. Later, some of them came over showing their interest in Falun Gong and concern about the persecution.

Another time, we stopped in a small town in Wales. We knew nothing about it when we planned the route. When we got there late at night, we found that a Jazz Festival was going on during that weekend. We did not have enough time to apply for a booth, so we chose the busiest place to hand out leaflets, collect signatures and demonstrate the exercises. When the police came, we explained our situation to them and gave them the leaflets. Not only did the police agree, but also came forward to sign the petition. Many people came to ask questions and stood in line to sign the petition. When we ran out of all our leaflets, we had a small parade on the way back to the car park.

The hints we received for the tourist attractions, "Quakers" and "Dungeon" were the same as with the other cities we visited. When we were on the way to Northampton town hall, we asked for directions while giving out leaflets. A lady pointed to a door on one side while holding a leaflet with another hand, telling us, "People there might help you." We went to talk to them. They knew about Falun Gong and were willing to help on the issue of "peace and justice."

In Leicester, after the interview, the journalist told us in a very natural manner that her sister had just been to York's Dungeon. She also suggested that we talk to Amnesty International to see if they could display our leaflets by the entrance. Actually, we had met two people working for the dungeon on the street in York. But I did not want to talk to them because I thought their clothes and make-up were horrifying. I threw their advertising sheet into a rubbish bin immediately without thinking. I realized finally that we could try to display our pictures showing a real "dungeon" of a more realistic nature to people.

A similar thing happened in Worthing. When we parked the car we saw a local news reporter across the road. We went in and talked to the reporter right away, and also managed to talk with another reporter on our way to the town hall. During the rest of the journey, whenever we saw a news reporter or could find the addresses, we did the same. Once, after failing to find a parking place several times, we found a proper place just opposite that of a news broadcaster. I could feel Master's careful arrangements and protection all the time on our journey. As we were going through tribulations and eliminating the evil, things were getting smoother. I even did not want to stop, thinking that I could do even better if I could go for another round.

During the journey, we also helped people who had a predestined relationship with Dafa position themselves properly. In Brecon, once he heard "meditation," a man could not wait to learn. It was truly as Master said, "this is what I have been looking for." Last Saturday, we decided to go to two more cities because of the wrong direction we had taken. In Wellingborough, a couple kindly invited us to sleep inside their house late at night. We found that their kind hearts had not been totally lost in the current downward slide of society. They were very interested in learning Falun Gong. We did not have to stop in two extra cities for nothing.

3. Coordination and cooperation between practitioners is very important

During our travel, it seemed that we were doing a lot ourselves; actually what we did was only a very small part. Because we stopped in almost all the places where there were other practitioners, almost all of whom had joined in this activity, contacting media and mayors, preparing materials, making suggestions, writing letters, statements and press releases, etc--in short, all the back ground work--went very smoothly. To a certain extent, this was an activity involving all the practitioners in the UK, and I think this might be the main reason that it was successful. To my understanding, it is very important and necessary to use our own initiative, not to wait, not to rely on others; to do what every one can do using our skills and talents, as well as to cooperate each other. Only in this way can we hongfa better. We should not go to any extremes in any situation. We used our initiative, took all opportunities to establish our mighty virtue, and while overcoming the thoughts of waiting, relying and following the crowd. It does not mean that we should separate ourselves from others, and try to do everything without any cooperation. On the contrary, we need to connect together even more tightly so that we can move up together as one body. Then, the evil will have no place to hide. Also, Dafa disciples should help each other. If any practitioner drops down because of slacking off, it would be a great loss to Dafa and the sentient beings that he might have saved.

4. Breaking through everything deviated

Before and during the journey, we had a lot of discussions as to how to

accomplish our tasks better, which also revealed some of our deviated human notions. One of them was worrying about the government and the media being fed up if we contacted them too often or too many times. To my understanding, we have not done too much, but too little. For example, if the media ignores one fax, they probably will not ignore ten, or a hundred faxes. If one thing cannot get their attention, then two, ten or more may do. So I understand that we should not be blocked if we are told, "Somebody has already done it or is doing it." If the idea comes to my mind and I can do it, I should just do it. "Fed up" is a human notion, not one of gods. Saving sentient beings is urgent, as it saves lives too. Sentient beings are deceived by lies and facing destruction; is there anything more urgent in the world than this? It might appear that we are taking up their time, and non-stop news from Falun Gong might not make them happy. In fact, we are providing them opportunities. Because they have been lost in the human society for so long, one opportunity may not be enough. If so, then two, three, or even more opportunities need to be provided continually. What great compassion this is, which only Dafa disciples can offer. Using human notions could never work it out. This is also an arrangement by the old evil force: everybody in the world is too busy to care about each other, which is a deviated human mentality. We should break through all these ideas and set right anything that is not correct.

5. Revealing the truth thoroughly

Regarding "revealing the truth thoroughly," my personal understanding is from two aspects: one is revealing the evil persecution, and clarifying the truth; second is to show the magnificence and greatness of Dafa. We cannot do one without the other. When we mentioned Falun Gong, many people would think about torture and human rights without knowing anything about Falun Gong itself. During the journey, I noticed that many places and many people had no understanding about Falun Gong. In some places, evil had arrived before Dafa. To a certain extent, revealing the evil and clearing out the lies can be a negative activity. This is also an arrangement by the old evil force. Therefore we must clarify the truth first. But if we stop at the level of exposing the evil, we would be always running after the evil, following their tracks. The evil lies are believed only because the truth has not yet been revealed. We cannot accept this arrangement and must fill in the blank areas as soon as possible. This should make us go from negative to positive results. Therefore we should catch up by telling people about the glory and magnificence of Dafa, and provide them with an opportunity to know Dafa from all perspectives. We should not slack off in doing all the positive promotions of Dafa such as nine-day lecture classes, exercise classes, donating books and posters etc; in fact, we should do them better. The same holds true with respect to our Chinese newspapers. Ordinary people cannot just build up their righteous thoughts overnight; nor can this be achieved only by exposing the evil. It is rather like the parents' efforts to educate children who have displayed some bad behavior. Not only do they tell them not to do bad things, but also, they educate them about what are the right things to do. Only in this way can bad behavior be corrected. Once the worldly people know the greatness of Dafa and its disciples, the lies will fail by themselves. Therefore while revealing the evil, the boundless meanings of Dafa should also be shown at the level higher than human rights.
