(Clearwisdom.net) The scoundrels of Longkou City have committed numerous sins and crimes against Falun Dafa practitioners. Countless cases have been reported where innocent Falun Dafa practitioners have been seized, beaten, humiliated in demeaning public parades, and assessed unlawful fines. So far, more than 100 practitioners have suffered persecution at this location.

In March 2001, the Longkou City "610 Office" abducted and tried to brainwash nineteen Falun Dafa practitioners, then sent them to the Wancun Labor Camp, Zibo City, Shandong Province. Later, they organized a "610 Base" at Xiadingjia Township of Longkou City, from which to launch their criminal activities of abduction, detention and extortion. A "610 Base" is a location created for the purpose of persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. These offices apply the lowest manipulative methods to trick and abduct practitioners. For example, some practitioners were deceived by notice of a work assignment from their work units, but in reality it was just a ploy to abduct them.

Other examples of the horrible violations against Falun Dafa practitioners include dragging a high school teacher from his podium while teaching and delivering him to a brainwashing class. A female practitioner who was taking care of her seriously ill mother in the hospital was forcibly abducted without regard to the old woman, who was trembling with fear. The elderly mother was forced to end her medical treatment and leave the hospital early after her daughter was taken away, because they did not want to be bothered with taking care of her while her daughter remained in detention. Another female practitioner with her nine-month-old baby was abducted and forcibly taken to a brainwashing class.

Many practitioners have been forced to leave their homes in order to escape brainwashing. All the practitioners who were sent to the brainwashing class were fined 1000 Yuan RMB [1000 Yuan is equal to approximately two-months pay of an average urban worker]. Many of the practitioners subjected to this extortion were farmers who had no money and had paid this unreasonable fine many times before.

While many practitioners have fled to evade the brainwashing attempts, others are seized and forced to attend the brainwashing classes. In the class, malicious instructors spouted slanderous words against Falun Dafa and then forced practitioners to repeatedly watch videos in an attempt to deceive and brainwash them. When their malicious brainwashing tactics failed to dissuade the righteous practitioners from their firm convictions, they resorted to torture, including depriving practitioners of any sleep. They would each take two-hour shifts to monitor practitioners and prohibit them from falling asleep. If sleep deprivation failed to break the will of kindhearted practitioners, they would perpetuate the torture by locking them in isolated rooms, and providing them only one meal a day.

Some cases of torture are even more unthinkable. Last autumn a female practitioner went to Beijing, along with her two-month-old baby, to appeal the persecution of Falun Dafa. When the practitioner and her child were returned to their home city, they were detained in a small room with no bed. She was forced to sleep on the cold cement floor, holding her baby on her body to shelter him from the cold and dirty floor. These severe conditions suppressed the natural production of breast milk, leaving her no alternative but to feed the baby powdered milk. However, the prison guards refused to give her hot water, so she had to use tap water to prepare the powdered milk for her baby. Because the tap water was not purified, the baby quickly developed severe watery diarrhea. There were no diapers or toilet paper so the mother was forced to use a wooden stick to scrape the stool from the baby's behind. One month later, the baby was taken away from the mother, but she remained in detention, separated from her baby, until May of this year.

Last Spring, another group of practitioners went to Beijing to appeal the persecution of Falun Dafa, and endured inconceivable forms of torture. From Beijing, they were returned to Zhangjiago Detention Center where they were illegally detained. Here the prison guards had stored human urine in beer bottles so they could brutally force feed the practitioners this vile substance. These practitioners were forced to consume this disgusting substance until they began to vomit.

In addition to the torture and persecution already described, other forms of intimidation and persecution also occur. Yu Zhilan and her mother-in-law Hu Hairong, from Jimudao Village, Longkou Mountain, both benefitted both physically and mentally from Falun Dafa. Prior to their practice of Falun Gong, they did not get along with each other and they both suffered from many diseases. After practicing Falun Gong, the whole family is healthy and every year they experienced fruitful harvests from the grapevines in their yard. Even though these two practitioners have experienced significant benefit from Falun Dafa, the Longkou Daily, in 1997, published a totally fabricated and slanderous article about these righteous practitioners without their consent. The published article falsified the truth, reporting that they had been happy prior to Falun Gong, but after practicing, the husband could not get along with his wife and they had become lazy with no desire to work.

Yu Zhilan visited the relevant Departments many times in order to clarify the truth. However, the issue remained unresolved. In May of this year, Hu Hairong fled her home in order to evade the brainwashing class. On the evening of June 28, Longkou Police suddenly broke into Yu Zhilan's house, ransacking it during their illegal search. They confiscated several handwritten copies of Teacher's articles. They brusquely shoved Yu into a police car and took her to the Detention Center, where she was held for one month. Later, the police sent her to the "610" brainwashing class at Longkou City, where she still remains because she refuses to succumb to the brainwashing and torture. Hu Hairong was also caught and placed in detention. The police did not define the term of detention when she was captured, thus leaving her indefinitely detained.

Many innocent practitioners are needlessly persecuted every day. Their strength and righteousness serves as an inspiration to many. An appeal to authorities by kind hearted and interested individuals can help bring this illegal persecution to an end.
