Persecution of Falun Dafa by the 610 Office in Hebei Province Brings Disasters to Xinji City

(Clearwisdom.net) Since July 20, 1999, the criminal organization of the 610 office [an office created specifically to organize the persecution of Falun Gong] in Xinji City has utilized all kinds of methods to force Falun Dafa practitioners to give up their beliefs. Through investigation, it has been confirmed that over 10 practitioners have been illegally sentenced to jail, 27 have been sent to labor camps, and 22 have been illegally arrested. Many other practitioners have been illegally detained for long periods of time and many more practitioners have been detained in different places or have lost their homes.

Zhang Yunxi, female, 36, from Jiuzhai village, Tianzhuang Town, was illegally sentenced to two years in a labor camp because she did not give up practicing Dafa. She was detained in Shijiazhuang labor camp and suffered severe emotional trauma due to persecution. To shirk taking responsibility, the labor camp authorities sent her back to her family.

Fang Zhihua, female, 46, is a resident of No. 10 street in Xinji Town. She was detained because she legally appealed in Beijing during the Spring Festival. She was detained for a long time and was never released on bail until she developed a serious mental disability due to persecution.

For those practitioners who firmly believe in Falun Dafa, the XX Committee in Xinji City adopted various means such as detention, brainwashing classes, and torture during illegal long-term detention. Li Zhishui, a villager from Shuangliu Village of Xinji City, died as a result of the escalation of long-term persecution. (Minghui Net published an earlier report on the situation.)

The thugs in Xinji City began their first brainwashing class on August 9, 2001. They planned to hold 6 or 7 classes at the rate of once every two months. Those who would not renounce their belief in Falun Dafa would be transferred to the next class. On the other hand, in mid-August, the Vice Secretary in Xinji City's XX Committee, Liu Cunzhu, made a secret speech in which he put pressure on the leaders of work units and townships. If any work unit cannot stop two practitioners from appealing in Beijing, the leaders in that work unit will lose their rank or even their party membership as well as their jobs, depending on the severity. The leaders of all work units are suffering under such high pressure.

The 610 office accumulates wealth by unfair means, and some Falun Dafa practitioners' families have been fined and brought to total financial ruin because they could not afford the fine at all. Some practitioners firmly resisted such unreasonable fines. Therefore, the 610 Office would ask the work unit to pay the money; the work unit has to pay 1500 RMB for every practitioner the office delivered. This way, the 610 Office will definitely get money. Later on, the work unit will insist the practitioners reimburse the money.

The base of the brainwashing classes organized by Xinji City's 610 office is located in a paper carton factory. They isolate the practitioners into different rooms. Besides forcing them to watch fabricated news, newspapers, and videotapes, the practitioners were also forced to take a run early every morning. Then, the practitioners have to work continuously without a break. The purpose is to occupy their brains all the time so that practitioners can't think about Falun Dafa. The practitioners were forced to listen to the vicious programs; otherwise, they would be beaten brutally by the thugs in charge of the police station.

It also has been reported that a so-called court session to illegally sentence practitioners to jail will take place around October 2000.

Since last June, many more practitioners have been illegally detained in the detention center. Although ruffians in the detention center tried to block the news and tried all kinds of methods to keep practitioners' families from visiting, it was learned that practitioners were being severely beaten. Chen Xijian was beaten nearly to death several times. Many practitioners have lost their homes.

All these brutal persecutions by the 610 office have brought disasters to Xinji City. From 11:50 AM to 12:30 PM on August 7, 2001, Xinji City had a heavy storm. The rain measured 72.8 millimeters within 40 minutes. The heavy rain, combined with strong winds, flattened crops on a wide scale. Fruit fell to the ground all over the orchard. The electricity and communication poles were destroyed by wind. Part of the equipment in the power station was damaged. Over 70% of the entire city lost power for over 6 hours. Among the 15 towns, 11 of them were stricken. The direct economic loss was 186 million RMBs. Six towns were attacked by the severe storm, with Xincheng being the most severely effected. In Xincheng City alone, 41380 mu of autumn produce, 9950 mu of cotton, and 5350 mu of fruit trees were affected. The initial estimation of the damage was as high as 48.91 million RMBs.

We want to warn the thugs in Xinji City: This disaster is only a warning from heaven for the crimes you committed against Falun Dafa. If you still won't show regret, more severe disasters will unfold.

We also want to remind all fellow practitioners: Do not endure passively. We should face evil with our righteous thoughts. We suggest that all fellow practitioners in Xinji City try your best to send righteous thoughts every hour sharp, and eliminate the evil factors controlling the 610 office. Use righteous thoughts to help the practitioners in jail smoothly rectify the Fa and walk out.
