On September 9, 2001 four walkers participating in the SOS! Global RescueWalk from London to Brussels arrived in Lille, France. About 50 French practitioners took a bus to Lille to welcome the walkers.

The biggest newspaper in Northern France, La Voixdu Nord, interviewed practitioners at Grand Place. Next day at City Hall the four walkers were interviewed before they left for Brussels.
