1. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Authorities Force Students to Participate in the Persecution of Dafa

The persecution of Falun Dafa in China has escalated to a new level since the beginning of September.

In addition to sending forth righteous thoughts together with global practitioners, the practitioners in Jilin City also send forth righteous thoughts while distributing truth-clarifying materials, ensuring that the materials stay up longer before being removed by the authorities. They put on the posters warnings like, "Good people will agree after reading that this is good. Anyone tearing it down will receive retribution." Many people refused to tear down the posters after reading them, and policemen refused to do so for fear of retribution. Under these circumstances, the authorities came up with an appalling idea. They ordered students in local high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools to tear off Dafa posters on the afternoon of September 21, 2001.

Local practitioners have sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil force behind the decision that intends to drag innocent students down with it.

2. [Bozhou City, Anhui Province] Practitioner Liang You Still Under Detention

The Zhaoqiao Police Station in Qiaocheng District of Bozhou City sent practitioner Liang You to a brainwashing class early this year. Because Liang has been steadfast in his belief of "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance," he was held in the Qiliqiao Detention Center in Bozhou City for three months. Soon after he was released, the police again sent him to a brainwashing class. He still refuses to give in and is currently being detained.

3. [Bozhou City, Anhui Province] The 610 Office Arrests Practitioners Before Medical Conference

A National Conference of Chinese Medicine was held from September 8 to September 10 in Bozhou City. In the evening before the event, the local 610 Office arrested ten practitioners and sent them to the Qiliqiao Detention Center.

The ten practitioners are Li Ping from Bozhou City Post Office, Fu Mingyi from Qiaoling Cinema, Zhou Yuzhuo from Tangling Country Bank, Zhao Jihong from a nationwide bank, Zhi Yan, Xu Lijuan, Zhao Daxia, and Zhao Haikuan. The names of other practitioners are unknown.

4. [Haiyang City, Shandong Province] Crimes Committed by the Local 610 Office

The 610 Office in Haiyang City have used many cruel methods to torture practitioners. The officials have detained over 160 practitioners since this year's Lantern Festival in early February. Twenty practitioners were sent to the Wangcun Labor Camp, and the rest are being forced to attend the brainwashing class in "Base 115." Some of the practitioners were put in custom-made iron cages. The police have tried to force them to write repentance letters by denying them sleep and food, beating them and hanging them up by their handcuffs. Some practitioners still refused to write the letter. The guards said, "We have used every conceivable method and still couldn't make them give up." Some practitioners have been detained for 10-12 months. At present, they are in a severe situation, and we call upon the attention of the world.

Names of the perpetrators:

Party Secretary of Haiyang City Committee Wang Guoqun

Party Secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee Shao Wenbin

Deputy Director of 610 Office whose last name is Lv.

5. [China] "The Policemen Are Different These Days. They Don't Arrest Bad Guys, They Only Arrest the Good People."

One day I saw a woman with a boy of about five years old in the street. The boy held his mother's hand, dragging her in the direction of an apartment building on the roadside where his grandma lives. His mother said, "Grandma was arrested by the police. She can't look after you anymore." The boy stared for a while in silence, and then asked, "Grandma is a good person. Why did the police arrest her?" His mother replied, "Because she practices Falun Gong." The boy asked loudly in tears, "Aren't the police supposed to only arrest the bad guys?" His mother said to the people around her sadly, "The policemen are different these days. They don't arrest the bad guys. They only arrest the good people." One person nearby said, "They fear reprisals from the bad people, but the good people will not retaliate. What's more, the government even rewards them for arresting good people."

6. [Kangping County, Liaoning Province] An Urgent Call for Help

Practitioner Jiang Xiufang, an employee of the Kangping Cinema Company, was forced to leave her home in April 2001, under the pressure of the persecution, and she has not been heard from since then. It is likely that she was arrested and sent to jail. Her husband Fu Lixin was detained in January 2001 for appealing for Falun Gong in Beijing, and he was sentenced to two years in a labor camp. Her father-in-law Fu Guangcheng, who used to be the director of the local Falun Gong assistance center, was arrested at home at 9 pm on April 25, 2001 and sentenced to one year in a labor camp. Now only her 60-year-old mother-in-law and 12-year-old son are left at home, and they both have no source of income.

Yang Ping and his wife, employees of the Santaizi Coal Mine in Kangping County, were arrested at home at 8 pm on June 20, 2001. Yang's wife was sentenced to a labor camp, but Yang is still under detention. Their 14-year-old daughter is at home and being taken care of by family friends.
