Chengdu City Police Embezzle the Salaries of Falun Gong Practitioners (Clearwisdom.net) Zhao Lintao, the Deputy Chief of the
Niushikou Police Station in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province bribed the neighbors
of Falun Gong practitioners. He paid each of them 300 Yuan (approximately one month's salary for an average worker in China) every
month, asking them to follow and monitor practitioners. They hoped that by doing
this, they could find out the sources of the Falun Gong truth-clarifying
literature in their city, and practitioners' conference sites so that they could
do more damage.
From November 2000, Niushikou Police Station and the Southeastern Police
Station persuaded the Niushikou Community Office and the Retiree Office of
Chengdu Seamless Tube Factory to withhold practitioners' pension and force them
to write guarantee statements (written statements in which practitioners
pledge to give up Falun Gong). If the practitioners refused to write the
statements, they would not get their pension. If they wrote one statement, they
would be paid 1/3 of their salaries, two statements, 2/3 of their salaries. If
they wrote all of the statements, they would be paid the whole salary.
The practitioners went to reason things out with them. The law entitles
people the freedom of belief. Practitioners pointed out that by doing this, they
(people at the Retiree Office and the police station) were ignoring the law, and
behaving illegally. Only then did the Retiree Office agree to issue partial
payments to cover living expenses.
In order not to be caught before July 20th and put in the
brainwashing class, some practitioners had to leave their homes. The local
police station colluded with the community office and stopped paying these
practitioners' pensions.
It is reported that the Southeastern Police Station which is close to the
Niushikou Police Station colluded with Chendu Seamless Tube Plant and has
stopped paying the salaries of those practitioners who refused to cooperate with
the brainwashing class held on July 20th.
In addition, without going through any legal procedure, Zhang Lin and Liao
Jing from the Niushikou Police Station often unexpectedly barged into
practitioners' homes. They forcibly made arrests, confiscated the families'
property, and pronounced the practitioners "guilty." This kind of
illegal activity had caused extremely bad influences among people.
Before this, Niushikou Police Station used widespread methods to intimidate
and deceive the families of those practitioners who were made destitute and
homeless. They fooled the family members into telling them the whereabouts of
the practitioners, and also compelled them to sign for the practitioners on the
pre-written, so-called "guarantee statement." The police officers
deeds were disgusting to the families of practitioners. As a result, the
families better understood the nature of the villains.
Here, we advise the villains who have persecuted practitioners, their
families and other people - what you are doing does not differentiate good from
evil, right from wrong and harms both yourselves and others.
