1. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Practitioners' Noble Deeds Shock Authorities

Since June 2001, more than 40 practitioners have been sent to labor camps and many more to brainwashing classes by the authorities in Yantai City. The persecutors in the area are led by Yan Rongzhu, Secretary of Yantai's Party Committee, Zhang Jianhua, Secretary of Political and Judiciary Committee and Yu Shujian from Section One of Yantai Police Department in Zhigang District. They have extorted several hundred thousand Yuan (note: the average monthly income of an urban worker is 500 Yuan) from Falun Gong practitioners, many of whom are forced to stay away from their homes to avoid arrest, having no choice but to adopt a life of homelessness, away from their loved ones. Despite their incredible suffering, courageous practitioners keep exposing the evil conduct of the perpetrators, clarifying the truth, and offering people salvation. They successfully hang up banners at street corners, in parks, and on walls -- banners that read, "Falun Dafa Is the Righteous Way" "Falun Dafa Is Good." The authorities were shocked by the powerful statements.

2. [China] Maintain Strong Righteous Thoughts

One afternoon, a practitioner came to my home. I said, "Somebody might have watched you on your way here." Indeed several thugs came to my place next morning, wanting to take me and the other practitioner to a brainwashing class, by force if necessary. We sent out righteous thoughts, "Nobody is allowed to take us away." Finally, the thugs finally left at 11:00 o'clock. The other practitioner said afterwards, "The evil might have taken advantage of what you said yesterday."

She then told me a story. One practitioner told another practitioner to hide her Falun Dafa books so that they wouldn't fall into the hands of the police. The very next day several policemen came to search the place and took away two books. I now understand what Teacher has said in the "Lecture on the Fa at the Washington, D.C. International Conference": "Evil beings look specifically for your thoughts that contain attachments in order to strengthen them and achieve their aim of taking control." We should maintain a clear mind of whether our thoughts conform to the requirements of Fa-rectification.

3. [China] Example of Retribution For Slandering Falun Dafa

A practitioner ran into an acquaintance on the street. The acquaintance said many bad things about Falun Dafa. Two days later, the practitioner once again ran into this acquaintance, only to find that he had come down with serious problems with his eyes.

4. [Beijing] Practitioner in Fangshan Illegally Arrested

Practitioner Xu Na in Fangshang, Beijing, was arrested from his home on July 4 by representatives from the Fangshan Police Department and the Beiyuan Police Station in Tongzhou District. The police have searched her place many times before, confiscating her computer, printer, fax machine, copy machine, cash and bankbook. She is currently detained in Fangshan Detention Center. The police have sent her to a 7-day brainwashing class, but Xu won't give in. On August 31, she was transferred to a detention center in Section 7 of Beijing Police Department, which handles important cases.

5. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] A Practitioner Escapes Using Wisdom

On the night of August 22, 2001, the Political and Security Section in Nong'an County, Jilin Province, once again went out to illegally arrest practitioners. Led by the head of the section, Liu Shangkuan, 6 or 7 policemen pried open the door at the home of female practitioner Deng Xue (alias) and broke into her house. They woke Deng and her 11-year-old child, intending to arrest her. Deng was very calm. She found an opportunity to step outside and then quickly fled to a safe place.

That same night, practitioner Wang Diange from Huajiaqiao Village in Huajia County was illegally arrested from his home while watching TV. He is now detained in the Dongdaqiao Detention Center in Nong'an County.

6. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Several Arrested While Distributing Falun Dafa Materials

Practitioner Xu Shaozong from Nong'an County, Jilin Province, was arrested while handing out truth-clarifying materials. Song Dan from Jiutai City was also arrested and detained for 15 days recently for the same reason, as were Su Li from Dehui Citu, Jilin Province, and Bai Ping from Changchun.

7. [Beijing] Officials in Changping Plot to Round Up Practitioners for Brainwashing Class

Wang Zhenhua, Vice Party Secretary of Changping District plans to set up a brainwashing class at the Gao Kou Militia Training Base. According to reliable sources, unprincipled officials at various levels are pressuring steadfast practitioners to attend the brainwashing class. They are also plotting to illegally send practitioners to labor camps.

8. [Hangzhou, Jiangsu Province] Practitioner Arrested for Solemn Statement

Practitioner Chen Tingwei in Hangzhou was illegally sent to labor camp in January 2000 for refusing to give up Falun Dafa. Under vicious persecution, he wrote a "promise" of not practicing any more. In March 2001, he submitted a statement to the police department, invalidating all he had written that didn't conform to Dafa. As a result, he was arrested in Huangshan in July 2001. His current whereabouts remain unknown.

9. [China] Righteous Thoughts Eliminate Corrupt Substance in the Form of Scabies

Recently, several of us noticed some small red bumps on our bodies which began to ache and itch. The itch was sometimes so intense that it interfered our Fa study and exercises. At the beginning, none of us paid any attention. Later, we had a discussion and learned that it was a common phenomenon in labor camps and other places where practitioners were detained. We realized that it was the old evil beings using corrupt substances at low levels to persecute practitioners. We should immediately eliminate it. Upon realizing that, we sent out righteous thoughts to eliminate it. The itch stopped that night.

10. [Hefei, Anhui Province] Families of Practitioners Resist the Persecution With Righteous Minds

Practitioner Bi Xiaojun has been arrested and detained in Hefei City No.1 Detention Center. Another, Bai Yun, escaped from that evil den and is now unable to return home or he will be arrested again. Another two practitioners have been released because of strong protests made by their families. In resisting the evil, the families of practitioners can also become a force that can't be overlooked.

11. [Helongjiang Province] Head of Changlinzi Labor Camp Gives Secret Orders to Beat Practitioners

Today we learned that practitioners Zhang Lin and Zhang Siyuan in Changlinzi Labor Camp pleaded their innocence and demanded their release. But Shi, the head of the labor camp gave secret orders to the guards to beat them up. Several of Zhang Lin's front teeth were broken from the beating and his body was covered with bruises. Zhang Siyuan had a 2-inch-long cut on his forehead. The police in the labor camp fear the information getting out, so they won't allow their families to visit them. Practitioners in Team One held a hunger strike to protest the violence, so the villains resorted to tortures like the "iron chair" and force-feeding.

Mr. Yu, the head of a transportation team, is quite vicious. He has threatened practitioners many times.

12. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Police Set up Brainwashing Classes -- Send Out Righteous Thoughts to Eliminate the Evil

From July 17 to 19, the Public Security System in Zhangjiakou City had a three-day conference planning to illegally arrest practitioners and send them to brainwashing classes. The first session has begun in three locations around town. The police had planned to have 10 to 15 practitioners per session, but practitioners wouldn't follow their orders, so they put only 7 to 8 practitioners in each class. One of them went on a hunger strike and was released. Another practitioner sent out righteous thoughts to have the policemen go away and the practitioner then simply walked out of the class.

13. [SuiZhou, Hubei Province] Practitioners Face Lengthy Illegal Detention and Cruel Torture

Practitioner Kang Gang from Hubei Province, male, single, has been detained in No.1 Detention Center since last winter. Due to the torture he has received, one of his legs is half paralyzed. He was once tied to a "death penalty board". We call upon human rights organizations to give attention to his situation. We also hope that they can urge the police in Suizhou to release innocent practitioners enduring lengthy illegal detentions.

Wei Xiaoping, female, has been detained since May 15, 2001, leaving a two-year-old baby at home. She went on a hunger strike. After one month, she couldn't walk. She is still under detention now, said to be as thin as a skeleton. Please give your attention and help.

Dear Friends,

This letter is a gift to you. After reading it, you will be lucky, for you will be able to walk away unscathed by the misleading slander and pervasive lies in Chinese newspapers and TV. Perhaps you don't know how many practitioners are illegally held in prisons, detention centers and labor camps for their actions to let more people learn the truth. So far over 260 practitioners have died as a result of torture. The great law of "Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance" is widely spreading, offering people salvation. Every one is making his decision of whether to give in under pressure or to listen to one's conscience. Please come to learn the true story of Falun Gong and tell your families, friends, classmates and colleagues. Knowing that Falun Dafa is righteous will bring you a bright future.
