Always Safeguard Dafa, Always Position Dafa Properly, Always Clarify that Dafa is Relevant and Righteous

During the past year, a great deal of work has been done to expose the evil actions of Jiang Zemin and his accomplices in China. Practitioners have done this work, and non-practitioners have made efforts as well. For example, media and human rights groups have consistently reported that the Chinese government persecutes Falun Gong, as well as Christians, Catholics, Buddhists, scholars and democracy supporters. Western governments have also been increasingly critical of China's systematic human rights violations against these groups, raising the issue at such forums as the United Nations Commission on Human Rights.

As we have done this work, we have effectively gained support from more people and touched more people. From this point forward, it will become increasingly clear to the world's people that China's government has persecuted Falun Gong practitioners viciously and unjustly, and that Jiang Zemin and his accomplices harbor selfish and malicious intentions. Dafa disciples and kindhearted people are effectively exposing and eliminating evil. We must continue to do this work diligently.

At the same time, however, I understand it is also critically important that we succeed in validating the Fa and safeguarding the reputation of Dafa. We must firmly establish that Dafa is good, that Dafa is correct, and we must successfully place Dafa in its correct position before ordinary people, as Dafa is infinitely sacred and what can fundamentally save a human being. This is also part of eliminating the evil and creating the foundation for the future humankind. Teacher has said, "As a practitioner, you should make use of all favorable conditions to spread the Great Law and prove that the Great Law is correct, is the real science, not a sermon or idealism, which is the obligation of every practitioner." ("Verification," Essentials For Further Advances)

As one example, when people ask us, "What is Falun Gong?" or "Why are you appealing here today?" I believe we can include in our answer something like the following (in our own words):

Falun Dafa is profound and extraordinary. It teaches a deep and clear understanding of life and recognizes that all things innately have the characteristic of Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance. Falun Dafa enables people to fundamentally change themselves to become better persons and even cultivate to Enlightenment. I think Falun Dafa is sacred and extremely valuable to people. Therefore, I believe it should be treated with respect and fairness.

An answer such as this would not overwhelm an ordinary person's understanding. We must always place Dafa in the highest position, both in our message and in our righteous thoughts. In the near future, humankind will understand more clearly that Buddhas, Taos, Gods and Enlightened Beings do exist; that salvation for a human being is possible; and that those who are virtuous are rewarded, while those who are wicked receive retribution. At a certain point in time, I believe it may also be appropriate to share with people this Fa at the level of humankind. I think this has already begun in China.

I believe that in order to truly perform our mission for Fa Rectification and offer salvation to human beings, we must do more than report the facts and cases of the persecution in China. While we are exposing and eliminating evil, we must take every opportunity to thoroughly dissolve any hostility a person may mistakenly have towards Dafa, and we must strengthen people's righteous thoughts; we must always show that Dafa is good and correct. I am personally worried that there are ordinary people who do know at some level that the persecution of Falun Gong is evil, but because they have ordinary human attachments and because they have been deceived by the evil, they do not have a clear understanding that Falun Gong is good. The evil forces' staging the self-immolation event and then staging these show trials has been damaging to the reputation of Dafa, regardless of what people think about the Chinese government. We need to think carefully how to respond to this.

In addition, if we fail to validate Dafa thoroughly, some ordinary people may continue to see Falun Gong as a distant or foreign issue and therefore view us with indifference. That is to say, some people have heard of Falun Gong and the persecution, but do not really understand it and do not really care. We have to find a way to break through people's preoccupation and indifference. This was also an arrangement of the old degenerate forces.

"Grand talk counts for naught when it comes to life and death. Actions reveal what is true." (The Knowing Heart) People respect our actions more than our words. And our every effort to clarify the truth does in fact demonstrate our compassion and conviction in the Fa Itself. However, for those who have not had the opportunity to speak with us in person, or those who have poor enlightenment quality, we must be sure that our message to them is clear, that our actions validate Dafa directly, and that we are successful in eliminating all of the evil thoroughly. We have to improve ourselves to assume this responsibility.

We should also be working on this every day and night, with righteous thoughts in our minds at every moment.
