City" December 22, 2001 (the Winter Solstice) is "Falun Dafa Day in Changchun
City." This sacred day opened a new page of Fa-rectification. It is a Day
for Falun Dafa practitioners, heralding the day that pure sunshine will replace
the dark night. On the morning of December 23, several hundred Falun Dafa practitioners in a
city in Jilin Province went out from their homes to validate Falun Dafa. They
intended to eradicate the evil and save people during this holiday. There were
silk banners, balloons, colorful posters and Fa-rectification banners everywhere
in the towns and villages throughout the city. There was a holiday atmosphere
everywhere. Falun Dafa practitioners of all ages, young and old, all stepped out
to celebrate the holiday. After the celebration, everybody came back happily and
safely. The common people talked about it. They all said, "Falun Gong is
really amazing. The banners appeared everywhere overnight." 2. [China] Falun Dafa Practitioners in a Southern City Rectify Dafa on New
Year's Eve On New Year's Eve, December 31, 2001, Falun Dafa practitioners in a Southern
City hung up more than forty Dafa banners on the busy streets, at a famous
scenic resort and other places, effectively frightening the evil. While the
practitioners were hanging up banners at the scenic resort, they ran into
security guards, but they all returned safely. While one practitioner was running away from a security guard and crossing
the street, a taxi almost hit him and the driver was very angry. The
practitioner told him, "I am a Falun Gong practitioner and I ran into
security guards while hanging up banners." The driver said, "I'm not
clear about Falun Gong, but I can help you escape this dangerous
situation." 3. [China] Validating Falun Dafa by Being Honest On December 5, 2001, a Falun Dafa practitioner went to the grain depot to
sell his grain. The grain depot overpaid him 1,120 Yuan RMB (more than two
months average monthly salary for an urban worker in China) by mistake. The
practitioner decided to give the money back. His family members did not agree,
and thought that they should keep it. Therefore, the Dafa practitioner told them
the relationship between loss and gain. The practitioner also said, "You
are happy gaining extra, but isn't the other person suffering a painful
loss?" The next day, when he sent the money back to the grain depot, they
asked, "What do you study?" The Dafa practitioner said, "I study
Falun Dafa." The director of the grain depot said, "It is the first
time that someone has returned an overpayment of money." When he left,
everybody thanked him and said he was a good person. The practitioner said,
"You should thank my Teacher. It is my Teacher who taught me to do
this." In this way, the practitioner promoted Falun Dafa and helped people
to realize that Falun Dafa practitioners are persecuted simply because they want
to be good people. 4. [Heilongjiang Province] Eight Falun Dafa Practitioners are abducted Recently, eight Falun Dafa practitioners from Jianghegang City, Heilongjiang
Province, including Zhang Peixin (26 years old), Deng Aimin (female, 25 years
old), Ji Yuhua (female), Li Guoyun (female), Fan Fengzhen (female), Li Yuzhang
(male), Yu Lihua (female), and Zhao Feng (female) were abducted by the police.
Their whereabouts are unknown. In fact, no one knows if they are still alive. 5. [Gansu Province] The Criminal Acts of the Corrupt Policemen from the
Yuzhong County Public Security Bureau On the afternoon of December 26, 2001, the policemen of Yuzhong County Public
Security Bureau in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, went to the home of a Falun
Dafa practitioner named Wang Yinghe, from Jinya village, Jinya town. After they
beat Wang Yinghe to the ground, they abducted him. Wang Yinghe's mother, who is
over 70 years old, his wife, and their little child were crying. In Ben village, Falun Dafa practitioner Jin Jilin's front door was kept
locked. The policemen threatened and intimidated Jin's child who had just
returned from school. They broke into Jin's home by climbing over the wall. Then
they illegally ransacked every room. Ji Jilin now must stay away from his home
and has become homeless in order to avoid further persecution. The lawless policemen who were responsible for this: Han Shangbin (head of
the public security bureau) Zhang Shizong, Shan Yongping (person in charge of
the political and security section), Yu Chun (director of the Jinya Police
Station) and Yu Gui (policeman). 6. [Hebei Province] Falun Dafa practitioners Li Jinhu, and Zhang Yueming were
Transferred to the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp and Tortured Even though Falun Dafa practitioners Li Jinhu and Zhang Yueming from Baoding
City of Hebei Province were frequently tortured in the Baoding Forced Labor
Camp, they still cultivated Falun Dafa resolutely. Recently, they were
transferred to the Shijiazhuang Forced Labor Camp where the torture continued.
Another Falun Dafa practitioner, Gao Jianhong (male, in the first brigade) from
Baoding City, was also brutally tortured in the Baoding Forced Labor Camp. When
Falun Dafa practitioner Liu Yongwang from Beijing was also illegally detained
there, he had already been on a hunger strike for more than one hundred days. Torture Falun Dafa Practitioners The persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners inside the
Shizishan Labor Camp is extremely harsh. The labor camp placed faithful and
unyielding practitioners under the surveillance of drug-addicts. Those
drug-addicts first of all asked the practitioners to "keep close to the
wall". This means standing close to the wall, and putting paper on top of
your elbows, head and body. These practitioners were forced to maintain this
awkward position for a whole day and night, and if the paper fell down, they
would be beaten. Next, they were forced to copy the so-called "regulations
of the labor camp" and were forbidden to sleep. Even if they took a short
nap, they would be scolded and severely beaten. One practitioner suffered from a
mental collapse after being tortured like this for a long period of time. The
police refused to admit to their crimes. Instead they defamed this man by saying
he went insane because of his practice of Falun Gong. The labor camp made a deal with the drug-addicts. No matter
what measures they took, if they could coerce one practitioner to give in, 1000
Yuan RMB would be deducted from their expenditures for drug detoxification.
Driven by this economic incentive, the drug-addicts dared to be so arrogant. 8. [China] A Woman Attains the Fa and Rectifies the Fa in an
Evil Situation There is a female inmate in a labor camp who was arrested and
brought to a detention center after being charged with breaking a law. When she
heard a practitioner promoting the Fa in the detention center, she talked to
this person and decided immediately to learn Dafa. This situation did not offer
her a chance to read Zhuan Falun. She could only recite Hong Yin and the
Scriptures one sentence after another with the practitioners. When she was
transferred to a more evil environment in the labor camp, fear could not make
her give up her cultivation. She called herself a Dafa practitioner everywhere
she went, practiced the exercises with other practitioners, resisted the evil,
and helped to rectify the Fa. Eventually she was put into a small cell. The evil policeman convinced
drug-addicts to beat her viciously and prolonged her sentence for three more
months. This was how they tried to force her to give in, but this practitioner
set strict requirements for herself everywhere she went, and did not give in to
the evil. After she was released from the labor camp, she immediately joined the
current of Fa rectification. 9. [Heilongjiang Province] Persecution of a
Practitioner in Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province (continued) 40-year-old male practitioner, Wang Dekui, went to Beijing to rectify
the Fa on April 2, 2000. He was illegally detained in Beijing for 3 days, then
in Shuangchen City for 15 days, and in Dadui for 56 days. He was beaten, and as
a result suffered from an injury to his lower back. This crime was committed by
the party secretary Li Hongguo and Sun Baoquan. He had 5000 Yuan RMB extorted
from him by Ma Guangru, Li Hongguo and Sun Baoquan of Jinbu village, Nongfeng
Town. The money was put under an account with the village's name. On December
10, 2000, he went to Beijing to rectify the Fa, and was detained illegally in
Beijing for 7 days and in Shuangchen for another 10 days. He was transferred to
the Pingfang district and detained for 26 days. In the Pingfang district he was
verbally abused and beaten by the prisoners everyday. Later he was illegally
sentenced to a forced labor camp. The prisoners in the Changlinzi Labor Camp
beat him. Every day, he was forbidden to move and had to sit on a bench. His
legs were swollen, and he had difficulty walking. To make it worse, he got
scabies because of the damp environment. The other practitioners detained in the
Changlingzi Labor Camp, Fu Wenqing, Cai Guiliang, Cui Ping and a few others were
also persecuted very severely. Dong Fuhua was walking on Baoan Village Street on November
27, 2001 when she was arrested by two local ruffians and forcefully taken to the
party secretary's home. Then she was taken in a vehicle and sent to the Nongfeng
Police Substation. Liu Yunfeng and Fu Zhengbo, who were the commune officials,
sent her to the Shuangchen Labor Camp. She was illegally detained for 15 days.
The director of the police substation extorted 1000 Yuan RMB from her family
before releasing her. Jin Baoqing went to Beijing to appeal peacefully on December
17, 2000. She was arrested on Tiananmen Square by the police, and was sent to
the Zhanqian Police Substation. She was taken back to the office station in
Beijing by Wang Shengli. Four days later, Wang Yanlong of the local village
government took her home. The village official Ma Xuanjun illegally detained her
in the police substation for 15 days. Ma Xuanjun extorted 2000 Yuan RMB from her
family for 'expenditures to go to Beijing'. The labor camp extorted 150 Yuan RMB
for her meals. On January 13, 2001 on the Chinese lunar calendar, she went to
visit her mother and was deceived by Ma Guanru of the village government and Fu
Chaoyang of the police substation. They made her attend a brainwashing class.
She was sent on January 16, 2001 on the Chinese lunar calendar to the Shuangchen
Labor Camp and was detained for 52 days. She received inhuman treatment while in
the camp. Her family had 200 Yuan RMB extorted from them by Fu Chaoyang, 2000
Yaun RMB by Zhao Shibo of the police substation, and were forced to pay for
'meal fees' in the amount of 450 Yuan RMB by the police substation. After she
returned back to the village, she was kept under surveillance by the villagers,
thereby losing her personal freedom. Fan Yefeng was beaten by the police on Tiananmen Square in
Beijing on July 1, 2000. After he was taken to the Tiananmen Police Substation,
Wang Shenli beat him. Then he was taken back to the station in Beijing. On July
4, he was released after 25 days of illegal detention in Shuangchen No. 2 Police
Substation, where they extorted 200 Yuan RMB from him for meals. After he went
home, the village secretary, Qiao Shuqing, the head of the village, Chong Pilin,
security staff Lu Changjiu and village staff Lu Changjun extorted 1500 Yuan RMB
from him. In August 2001, he went to visit friends in Xingchen and was arrested
and taken to the Town Police Substation. On the 27th, he was sent to
the No.2 Labor Camp and was illegally detained for 16 days. The director Zhao
Shibo extorted 1000 Yuan RMB from his family, and another 120-Yuan RMB for meal
expenditures. The village government again asked him to pay 500 Yuan RMB. The
person responsible for this is the party secretary of Xincheng Village: Wang
Xintong. 10. [Heilongjiang Province] Unlawful Officials Begin a New Cycle of
Persecution Zhu Qingwen, Zhang Guofu, and other unlawful officials in Shuangcheng City,
closely follow Jiang Zemin's political group to persecute Falun Dafa
practitioners. Despite the situation that ordinary people are under very hard
times economically, they spent a large amount of money to hire a gang of
vagrants to arrest Falun Dafa practitioners. Falun Dafa practitioner Jiang Xiuzhen was recently arrested when she was
distributing truth-clarifying materials. She has twice been to Beijing to
validate Dafa. After being detained for two months, she was sent to the Wanjia
Forced Labor Camp and was sentenced to a one-year term. She suffered greatly both spiritually and physically. Her body is full of
scabies. Now she has been arrested again and her husband Jia Shuangyou, also a
Falun Dafa practitioner, was also sent to a forced labor camp. He is detained in
the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp. Their daughter is left at home alone and she
is crying every day for her parents. Recently two practitioners, Guo Fenglan (female) and Yang Fen (female), were
arrested. Zhang Guofu from the "610 office" (an agency specifically
created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of
administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems)
and the Zhaibei Police Station suspected that Guo Fenglan distributed
truth-clarifying materials. They therefore started to follow her. On the
afternoon of December 30th, Zhang Guofu and Li Yutang broke into
Guo's house and forcefully arrested her. [Sichuan Province] Practitioner Zhong Fangqiong Is Arrested Falun Dafa practitioner Zhong Fangqiong was arrested on December 28th in
Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. On that day several people from the Womens'
Association went to her house to test her attitude [regarding practicing
Falun Gong]. When they found that she was still determined about practicing
Falun Dafa, they arrested her. Now Zhong is detained in Pengzhou. At the same
time, Jiang, another female practitioner, was also arrested. 12. [Jilin Province] Tian Yuchun Is Abducted Falun Dafa practitioner Tian Yuchun was arrested on December 26, 2001 at the
Binhe residential area in Changchun City. Her whereabouts are unknown. 13. [Qinghai Province] The Bloody Violence at the Huangzhong Police Station Falun Dafa practitioner He Wanji distributed truth-clarifying materials on
June 18, 2001, and was arrested by the Huangzhong County Police Station. During
detention, he suffered vicious beatings and damage directly from police and from
prisoners who were instigated by the police. Their means were extremely cruel. One warden is especially cruel to Falun Dafa practitioners. After personally
beating up He Wanji, he called on three or four prisoners to beat Mr. He
violently in turn. They punched his head and face, grabbed his hair to hit his
head against the wall, kicked at his legs and lower back, struck his crotch and
abdomen using their elbows and knees and causing him to faint from the pain many
times. This kind of beating happened several times. As a result, he suffered
pain in his lower back and legs as well as became unconscious, and later his
whole body was numb. 14. [Jiangxi Province] A Practitioner Is Abducted A few days prior to New Year's Day, Falun Dafa practitioner Du Yuanfu was
arrested in his home in Nanchang City, by people from the State Security
Department . At that time, Du had severe high blood pressure and problems in one
leg caused some difficulty in walking. 15. [Guizhou Province] Anshun City Establishes a Department to Inspect
Express Mail According to a reliable source, Anshun City has recently established an official department
specifically to inspect express mail coming from other areas.
