Gothenburg, Sweden: Practitioners Hold Candlelight Vigil to Protest the Latest Tragic Deaths in China

Practitioners in Gothenburg, Sweden

(Clearwisdom.net) The increasing number of Falun Gong practitioners being persecuted to death is appalling and is a disgrace to the Chinese people and humanity. In protest, practitioners in Gothenburg held a candlelight vigil at their largest practice site. A long line of lit candles twinkled like lively stars in the wet misty night as if they were telling everyone that no evil forces can shut out the benevolent hearts of millions of Dafa practitioners. We performed the exercises and sent forth righteous thoughts. Some large posters and a bright yellow banner reading, "343 Have Been Killed: This Crime Must be Stopped Immediately" exposed the atrocities.

Some practitioners handed out information about the latest tragic death cases. The Swedish people who passed by stayed to talk to us and show their sympathy for Falun Gong practitioners in China. Almost all of them took our fliers and many signed our petition without being asked. Many of them encouraged us and gave us their support. We could hear:

"It's a very good thing you do. I hope this will bring a change."
"It's very cold. Aren't they freezing? They look very harmonious though."
"Mummy, I want to try this sometime!"
"What is this?" "They are having a candlelight vigil. Some more Falun Gong practitioners have been killed."

After a woman heard about the deaths and the tortures that were used on Falun Gong practitioners in China, she said: "This is really evil."

A young man from Ireland was very surprised after being informed about Zhao Ming (a student at Trinity College in Dublin), who has been imprisoned for his belief in Falun Gong. He wondered why a person could be put into jail just for meditating: "This is so harmless!"

Due to the urgency of the event, practitioners did not have enough time to apply for a permit from the police station. However, because of practitioners' righteous minds and pure hearts, after much discussion the police granted the practitioners verbal permission to hold a candlelight vigil in front of the Chinese Consulate.

At 21:55, practitioners gathered in front of the Chinese consulate in Gothenburg to send forth righteous thoughts simultaneously with practitioners all over the world.
