The Story of Fa-Rectification by Several Falun Gong Practitioners at a Labor Camp in Changchun

On April 8, 2001, officials of the Chaoyanggou Labor Camp in Changchun staged a song and dance program by the art troupe to slander Falun Gong. Then they attempted to incorporate the act into a TV news program to further deceive the public. In order to carry out their evil plot, the labor camp officials coached inmates to coerce Falun Gong practitioners. They arranged for criminal inmates to be sitting on both sides of the practitioners. As soon as the defaming program started, practitioners Liu Haibo, Lian Hong and several others refused to watch it. The camp deputy then escorted them back to the camp brigade and beat them with electric batons. Some practitioner's faces were severely injured. They even illegally added one more year of hard labor to the sentence of Liu Haibo, and 4 more months to Lian Hong's. Later, when the TV news program showed the art troupe program at Chaoyanggou, there weren't any meaningful shots of the event and the evil's plot to undermine Dafa did not succeed. These practitioners guarded Dafa with their lives, and their magnificent act soundly defeated the evil conspiracy.

Practitioner Yang Zhanwen was illegally detained at the First Brigade at the Chaoyanggou Labor Camp. Drunken inmates savagely beat him after he refused to sign affidavits to renounce Falun Gong. Inmates hit the back of his thigh with hardwood planks over 30 times, and punched his waist so hard as to cause lower back displacement. He had great difficulty even getting on and off beds. Soon after he was still forced to do heavy labor. A young man (not a practitioner) who was wrongfully sent to the labor camp wept after seeing Yang's condition and his mistreatment.

Falun Gong practitioner Wei Xiushan was illegally sentenced to one year of hard labor due to his appealing to stop the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999. The brigade leader tortured him with an electric baton after he refused to wear a labor camp uniform. Yet his resolute act truly earned the respect of the other inmates. He recited "Lun Yu" (Statement in Zhuan Falun) to inmates while they worked. Several inmates told him that they would like to practice Falun Gong after they were released from the labor camp. At the end of his term the labor camp did not release Wei Xiushan, furthermore, they added another 11 months of illegal detention. Finally, when he was requested to fill out a personal self-evaluation form in order to get released from the labor camp, he wrote, "I will continue to be a Falun Gong practitioner after my release. I will further prove that Dafa is the most extraordinary science and is the Buddha Law that will save people." Because of his statement, he was directly sent to the Xinglongshan brainwashing class. After the class was disbanded in just one month, they sent him to Daguang Detention Center to continue another term of illegal imprisonment.
