An Elderly Veteran Stands up to the Evil: "I Am Innocent! I Will Sue You!"

(Clearwisdom.net) I am a 67-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner from the countryside of Sichuan Province. I obtained the Fa on April 6, 1999. A few months later, Jiang's political gang started defaming and persecuting Falun Gong. On July 20, 1999, the director of the village's public security committee came to ransack my home. On June 29, 2000, quite a few guests came to visit me, and the police station interpreted this because they claimed it was a gathering of Falun Gong practitioners. They then arrested all the guests, sent them to the police station and forced them to remain outside in the sun. They also took away all my Dafa books and other items. I went to the police station to argue with them, and knowing that they were in the wrong, they immediately released all of my guests. From then on, they considered me as a key person and sent people to watch my wife, who is also a practitioner, and me everyday. On the night of December 24 on the lunar calendar, the police once again broke into my house and confiscated my bicycle, tape recorder and some other items. On July 11, 2001, my wife and I went out to distribute Dafa materials. After handing out the Dafa materials, I returned safely, but my wife was arrested. At around 5:00 p.m., a group of police went to my home and tried to force me to pay them 10,000 yuan [the average annual income for an average rural labor is only about 2000 yuan] to get my wife back. When I asked them if my wife had been beaten, the police ruthlessly said, "If she is beaten, she is beaten!" I refused their unreasonable demands. They then started ransacking my home. They wanted to confiscate my TV and VCD player. I immediately locked the front door with them inside and repeatedly demanded that they produce identification and legal documents for the search.

The police then took out a piece of paper and scribbled a few words in an attempt to satisfy me. They even said that they are specifically in charge of persecuting Falun Gong. I still did not open the door. For a while, neither side was willing to budge. Then the seven policemen in the yard forcefully pushed me down, ferreted out the key to the front door, carried me into a police van and took me to the police station. As soon as we got to the police station, they covered my head with a piece of cloth and started cuffing and kicking me. I was then beaten unconscious. After about three hours when I regained my consciousness, I heard their superior scolding them, "It is not worth it to beat an old guy to death. A few years ago, two people were beaten to death. It was reported by the newspaper, and we had to pay a life with life." Fearing that they would take legal responsibility if I died at the police station, they then sent me to the detention center.

At the detention center, whenever I practiced Falun Gong, the head of the cellmates would beat and torture me. For seven days and nights, they forced me to sit and sleep in water. As long as I practiced Falun Gong, they would pour a barrel of water on my body. They only allowed me to have some rice gruel for each meal. They even said, "You have your Teacher to protect you, so you don't need to eat anything." On the eighth day at the detention center, the police forced me to wash the toilet and the floor. Because I had not eaten a regular meal since I was sent to the detention center, I was very weak and fell down to the ground and lost consciousness. Once I fell down, at this time, I felt that I went to a different universe at a very high level. I saw that the place I went to was very beautiful, as wonderful as the rotating of Falun given by Teacher. A month later, they issued the arrest warrant for me. At the court, the judge said that I had committed the crime of "obstructing the police during an investigation." He said that I should have been sentenced to 12 years in jail, but because I had done a deed of merit during the Korean War, they would reduce the sentence by 4 years. I resolutely rejected the sentence. How could I obstruct the police while I was at home?! As a result, the sentence was not carried out. The second time, they wanted to sentence me to 5 years in prison. I said, "I will not agree even if you sentenced me to 5 days in prison, because I am innocent! I will sue you!" In order to force me to plead guilty, they fetched the Party secretary of our village and the director of the village's public security committee to give false testimony. I didn't accept any accusations imposed on me, and in the end, they sentenced me to 6 months in jail. They came to the conclusion that they could not declare me as innocent, since during this time, strict orders were being issued to deal with Falun Gong practitioners harshly. Six months later, I was released. Now I am going near and far to spread Dafa and clarify the truth. I am now more determined than ever in Dafa.
