Spreading the Fa at a New Year's Gathering of Overseas Chinese

During the New Year's holidays, many overseas Chinese groups hosted parties and activities. As practitioners, we knew that this was a good opportunity to clarify the truth to fellow Chinese people.

One day, when handing out materials in front of the Chinese Consulate, a practitioner ran into a leader of the local Chinese community that he knew before but hadn't spoken to for a long time. After a few words of greetings, the leader of the Chinese community invited the practitioner to join their New Year's party and left him with a few tickets.

People's Hearts Are Changing

Towards the end of the party as people started to leave, more than 90% of the people gladly accepted our materials. Some were sympathetic to practitioners' experiences, while others reminded practitioners to be careful and protect themselves. Some said they were moved by the spirit of the practitioners. One man said, "You are truly great! I support you and hope you can stay steadfast until the end. Staying to the end will mean victory." Some people have pre-destined relationships with Dafa. Upon hearing the word "Falun Gong" a woman said, "You have to tell my father about it. He's really been wanting to learn it." Some people don't understand why the practitioners have to clarify the truth. A practitioner asked him, "Do you want to see more 'Truthfulness, Benevolence, Forbearance,' or more of falsehood, evil, and violence?" This person thought about it and said, "This is simple. This persecution is completely absurd." He changed in such a short time. A few people wanted to stop others from taking the materials, and they became very noisy. As a result, some people who had actually walked past us returned to see what was happening. They also asked for our materials. In the end, even people from the Chinese Consulate took some of our materials to read. The cosmic climate is changing very fast, and people are being awakened from the lies at a very rapid speed.

A Few Understandings

1. It is very important to send forth righteous thoughts. Practitioners first sent forth righteous thoughts at the party to clear away the bad elements there. At the same time, we used our minds to send the thought "Falun Dafa is good" into people's hearts. This is the main reason why we received such good results in spreading the Fa on that day.
2. It is very important to have compassion. When we have compassion in our hearts and use the language of ordinary people to rationally clarify the truth to people, their hearts and souls are truly moved. Even when the evil wanted to interfere, they could not. By contrast, their laughable actions actually helped demonstrate the greatness of Dafa practitioners.
3. We should have harmonious cooperation. Not many practitioners participated in this effort, but we all cooperated very well. The pleasant energy fields of practitioners harmonized the surrounding environment. One practitioner wanted to hand out materials when we first arrived. Another practitioner felt that we could be more harmonious in order to minimize the possible damage caused by the evil. We eventually decided to hand out materials while people were leaving. We also cooperated closely with the host of the party. Some practitioners volunteered to greet guests at the door, while others checked guest invitations. This not only demonstrated the kind nature of Dafa practitioners, but also helped establish relationships with more people. After the party, some practitioners said goodbye to people who were leaving. Some practitioners helped people load things into their car and then gave them our materials. Also, some practitioners waited outside to wish people a happy new year while giving them truth-clarifying materials.
4. We should prepare good materials. For this event, we prepared a variety of materials in a short time, including the comprehensive booklet "Journey of Falun Dafa," fliers that answer specific questions, letters to appeal to people's kind hearts, our personal experiences written in ordinary people's language, and truth-clarifying CD-ROMs. We even wrapped some materials in gift-wrapping paper. When handing out materials, we tried to fit their situation. For those who were interested but didn't know much about Falun Gong, we gave them the booklet. For those who already had the booklet, we gave them other materials. We also gave CD-ROMs to those who could watch it.

This Fa-spreading event made us realize that people's hearts are changing. We are now better able to demonstrate the realm of a cultivator through little things we do, always treat ourselves as Fa particles, harmonize everything we encounter, and steadfastly take every step as a cultivator.
