Guan Xiu, female, 56, decided to travel to Beijing to verify Dafa before May 1, 2000. Because she was being spied on, she was intercepted and sent back. Before the Spring Festival of 2001 (On the Chinese Traditional Calendar it would be December 26 of year 2000), she was illegally detained when she went to a police station to clarify the truth of Falun Dafa. The person in charge said the practitioners who went to Beijing should pay 2000 Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly salary for a Chinese worker], and whoever didn't go to Beijing should pay 1000 Yuan. Otherwise, they were not allowed to go home.

Zhao Zhiqiu, female, 54, traveled to Beijing to appeal for Dafa in April 2000. Wang Shengli of the "610 Office" took 100 Yuan from her at the Shuangcheng Liaison Office in Beijing. Wang Shengli also extorted another 500 Yuan from her. The industrial committee president Guo Xinmin extorted practitioner Zhao 900 Yuan. In December 2000, Zhao was beaten brutally in the Shuangcheng City Detention Center and she fasted for 6 days. In the detention center, she was given only 2 pieces of cornbread each day. In 2001, she was detained in Wanjia Labor Camp. Because she was made to sit on small benches everyday all day, her flesh and skin were separated from the bone on her backside. Her whole body was covered with pustules and she often had a fever. She went on a hunger strike on several occasions, once for nearly 20 days. Finally, the labor camp released her on bail for medical treatment.

Liu Jie, female, 34, traveled to Beijing to appeal in March 2000 and tried to tell the truth that, "Falun Dafa is good," with other practitioners. She was intercepted on her way to appeal and was sent to the Shuangcheng Liaison Office in Beijing. She was fed with alcohol and handcuffed. Later she was taken back to Shuangcheng City Detention Center and detained for half a month. After police guard Zhang Guofu extorted 3000 Yuan from her family, she was released. In July 2000 she practiced the Falun Dafa exercises in the Shuangcheng City Trade Square and was arrested and taken to the Second Detention Center. She was illegally detained for half a month. After police guard Zhang Guofu extorted over 100 Yuan from her family, she was released.

Xia Wenwei, is a resident of Shuangcheng County, Gongzheng Township, Aixiang Village. They extorted 1000 Yuan from him, because he traveled to Beijing to rectify the Fa. He was detained by Shuangcheng Detention Center and they extorted 125 Yuan from him for food expenses. The prisoners in the detention center took 110 Yuan and Bai Mingjiu extorted 300 Yuan from him. When his family came to visit him they extorted over 200 Yuan from them. The village fined him 1000 Yuan. After he went back to his village, he was illegally detained twice for over 30 days. He was forced into hard labor and to give up his practice of Falun Dafa.

Su Zhenhe, male, 40, traveled to Beijing to peacefully appeal in June 2000. Xia and Wang of Shuangcheng Liaison Office in Beijing extorted over 100 Yuan from him. Afterwards, he was sent to the Shuangcheng City Second Detention Center to be detained for 5 days. They extorted 1000 Yuan for "bail" and 124 Yuan for "miscellaneous expenses." Shuangcheng City Grain Depot President Zhang Rongting extorted 1000 Yuan from him. On January 19, 2001, his work place's Party Committee Secretary Liu Dechun, leading 5 to 6 people, arrested him at his home and made him attend a brainwashing class at the work place for over 2 months. They also extorted 1000 Yuan from him in the form of an IOU. He was not allowed to work until now and hasn't received any salary for one and one half years. The total loss amounts to over 8000 Yuan.

Guan Shufang, female, 58, traveled to Beijing to verify Dafa on February 5, 2000. Wang Shengli of Shuangcheng City Police Department forcibly took over 100 Yuan from her. Later, she was unlawfully detained in Shuangcheng City Second Detention Center for 55 days. They extorted over 400 yuan from her for food expenses. Later, she was detained in Shuangcheng Xinmin Street Office for 17 days. After Ye Fulai and Liu Yuhua extorted 900 Yuan from her family when they visited her, she was released. Before the Spring Festival of 2001, she was tricked into going to the detention center and detained for over 70 days. She was again released after Ye Fulai and Liu Yuhua extorted 1000 yuan from her. During the holidays she was not allowed to return home.

Li Ruiqing, female, 56, went to Beijing to verify Dafa on November 6, 2000 and was arrested on Tiananmen Square. She was brutally beaten by the police after she was put into the police van. She was detained in Tiananmen Police Station for one day, sent to Chongwen District Police Station that night and detained there for 24 hours. She was not allowed to use the restroom or eat. Afterwards, she was detained in Chongwen District Detention Center for 16 days. After she went on a hunger strike for 4 days she was force-fed with corn gruel and salt water. Many Falun Dafa practitioners were fed so inhumanely that they could hardly walk. She was released on November 20.

Yang Mo, female, 23, traveled to Beijing to appeal for justice on November 6, 2000. After she was arrested, the vicious policemen cruelly tortured her. The police forced her to tell them her address and used an electric baton to shock her. Later, they handcuffed her to the outside door. In the cold November weather, she was left handcuffed outside for several hours wearing an unlined garment . After she was taken back she was beaten again. Later she was sent to Shuangcheng City Second Detention Center and detained there for 16 days. After she went home, at the end of November, she was detained in the Shuiquan Township Nursing Home brainwashing class. They would not release her if she would not write the pledge. [The officials and police often attempted to coerce practitioners to sign a paper saying they will give up the practice of Falun Gong.] Therefore, she was illegally detained for over 2 months. Finally, she escaped the clutches of evil by climbing through a window.

Wang [first name unknown], female, 30, traveled to Beijing to verify Dafa on November 8, 2000, and was arrested. She was released after she was illegally detained in the Shuangcheng Second Detention Center for 17 days. On January 3 (Lunar year) 2001, she was arrested and taken to the Shuiquan Township Nursing Home brainwashing class. She was detained for over 40 days and they extorted 1200 Yuan from her. The police confiscated two certificates of house ownership that belonged to her. The people's commune had her sign an IOU. If she goes to Beijing again they will take 5000 Yuan from her. Shuiquan Township Party Committee Second Secretary Guan Wenliang and Zhang Bo are criminals responsible for persecuting Wang.

Li Hongqin, female, 58, traveled to Beijing on February 9, 2000 to verify Dafa and was arrested on Tiananmen Square. The police in Shuangcheng Liaison Office in Beijing took over 30 Yuan from her. Later, she was sent to Shuangcheng City Second Detention Center and detained for 45 days. The Shuiquan Township Government forced her family to pay 1235 Yuan as "expenses" to take her back home from Beijing (airplane, food, drink, hotel and other expenses of the police). They also extorted over 300 Yuan for "food costs" and 5000-Yuan bail in order to release her. On November 6, 2000, she traveled to Beijing to appeal for justice again and was beaten and cursed by police. They used mean and dirty words. They arrested her and put her into a police van. In the police station, 40 to 50 practitioners were locked into a big iron cage. In the cold of November, the police used a big fan and didn't give them anything to eat nor did they allow the practitioners to use the restroom. The police forced them, all women, to be physically examined and beat them if they didn't cooperate. Her child paid 600 Yuan to Shuangcheng City Liaison Office in Beijing to get her back.

Na Shuhua, female, 54, traveled to Beijing in June 2000 to verify Dafa and appeal. She was detained in Shenyang City. Later she was unlawfully detained in a detention center for 15 days and they extorted 124 Yuan from her.

Lu Guizhen, female, 55, traveled to Beijing to peacefully appeal in April 2000. Wang Shengli extorted 73 Yuan from her in Shuangcheng City Liaison Office in Beijing. He also extorted 2000 Yuan as bail and 300 Yuan as food expenses. Chaoyang Commune Shengxing Village leader Wang Guoliang extorted 2000 Yuan and had her sign an IOU of 2000 Yuan. On June 11, 2000 she was arrested while clarifying the truth and 800 Yuan was extorted from her.

Sun Guangming, male, 41, traveled to Beijing in June 2000 to peacefully appeal. They extorted 38 Yuan from him in the Shuangcheng City Liaison Office in Beijing. He was then detained in Shuangcheng City Second Detention Center for 15 days. They extorted 124 Yuan from him for "food expenses." His employer, Shuangcheng Grain Depot, didn't pay him for a year and a half. The total amount of loss was about 8000 yuan. The practitioner requested to be paid many times, but they would not allow him to be paid. The culprits in charge: Zhang Rongting (President of Grain Depot), Liu Dechun (Party Committee Secretary of Grain Depot), Xiao (Party Committee Secretary of Grain Bureau), and Liu Wenzhi (President of Grain Bureau). On January 20, 2001, Liu Dechun arrested him again and took him to a brainwashing class and detained him for over 50 days. Later, he was released because his mother died of illness. Now, he is homeless and has no income.

Gao Guofeng, female, 45, traveled to Beijing on February 5, 2000 to verify Dafa. Wang Shengli of Shuangcheng Liaison Office in Beijing confiscated over 100 Yuan from her. Later, she was unlawfully detained in Shuangcheng City Second Detention Center for 55 days and they extorted over 400 Yuan for food expenses from her. Afterwards, she was detained in Xinmin Street Office for 17 days. She was released after they extorted 900 Yuan from her. On the lunar calendar, December 23, 2000, the town government planned to arrest her, but they didn't have any evidence. The next day Wang Jiang and Nie Yuanzhen of the town government took from her the Certificate of ownership of her house, which is worth 60,000 Yuan. Zhu Qingwen didn't allow her to see her family during the Spring Festival.

Wang Shuzhi, female, went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa in 1999. She had 1,300 Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly salary for a Chinese worker] extorted from her by the party secretary, Liu Chengjiang, of Changfeng village. Since she had no money at home, three Mou [a Chinese unit of land measurement, equivalent to 0.165 acres] of her field were confiscated. On December 23, 2001, she was deceived into going to the Duimiancheng Township. On the next day, she was sent to the Shuangcheng No.2 Detention Center for 75 days of illegal detention, and she had 2,000 Yuan extorted from her by the Shuangcheng Police Department. Once, just because she was talking with some fellow practitioners, she was sent to the No.2 Detention Center for 45 days of illegal detention. She had 500 Yuan extorted from her by Sun Jihua of the Handian town, and 300 Yuan by the detention center.

Zhang Fengrong, male, 45, went to Beijing to validate Dafa on January 10, 2001. On the same day, he was unjustly arrested. He was later sent to the Shuangcheng Police Department and severely beaten by the director before he was locked up in jail for 37 days. After he was brought home by the township government, he was illegally detained for thirty days. During this period, he was repeatedly cursed at and beaten by Zhang Jinguo, as well as others.

Zhang Shusen, male, 43, went to Beijing to validate Dafa on June 23, 2000 and was unjustly arrested by the Beijing Police Department. He was illegally detained for fifteen days in the Haidian Detention Center. On January 19, 2001, he was then taken by Li Qingbin from the Second Industrial Bureau, and two other policemen following Li. He was brainwashed for over one month in the building of technical secondary school of Economic Committee. During this period of time, his father fell down and broke his legs. Since no one was available to take care of him, Zhang Shusen asked if he could go home to visit his father, but the policemen refused his request. To protest against the brainwashing, he had to abandon his home and travel from place to place for over three months. He is the main supporter of his family. During this period of time, his family lost 4,000 Yuan.

Ma Zhongli, female, 48, went to Beijing to rectify the Fa [the principles, the law of the universe] on December 18, 2000, and was brought back by the police to the Shuangcheng No.2 Detention Center for fifteen days of illegal detention. She had 200 Yuan extorted from her for meals, and 2,000 Yuan was extorted by the village. Since she insisted on saying the truth, she was deceived into leaving her home and she was locked up in the Senior House of the township government for 25 days before she was released.

Liu Jianwei, male, 29, went to Beijing to validate Dafa in June 2000. He was severely beaten by the police in the Appeal Office. He was afterwards sent to a police station with several other practitioners. He was severely beaten up twice by the police since he refused to answer their questions. He was later illegally detained for about ten days in the Xuanwu District Detention Center. He was detained for half a month after he was brought back to Shuangcheng. The police extorted 100 Yuan from his family before releasing him. In December 2000, he again went with some fellow practitioners to Beijing to appeal. After he was brought back on a train, he was detained in the Shuangcheng Detention Center for ten days. Afterwards the police detained fifteen practitioners in the Pingfang Detention Center for 25 days. During this period of time, the prisoners often cursed at and beat the detained Dafa practitioners. They were later sent to the Wanjia Labor Camp. Liu Jianwei was unjustly sentenced to one year of forced labor, and was transferred to the 4^th Brigade of the Changlinzi Labor Camp. He was pressured to give up cultivation by the disciplinary guard. Liu Jianwei had been suffering both physically and mentally for over four months. The leaders also made those who did not feel well climb onto the upper bunks to persecute them and force them to give up cultivation. The guards refused to allow Dafa practitioners to meet with their families. Dafa practitioners went on hunger strike to protest, and refused to cooperate with the evil. Liu Jianwei was released after protesting with twelve days of hunger strike.

Li Shutao, male, 31, went to the provincial government to peacefully appeal on July 22, 1999. In the afternoon, he was forcefully sent to the provincial public security division for three hours of inhuman persecution. The evil policemen used a rubber club to heavily beat his back and shoulders; they used their heels to kick his lower back. He was seized by the hair and slapped heavily on his ears. He was beaten so badly, he lost consciousness. He was then forced to kneel down while being interrogated. In the spring of 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal and was unjustly arrested. He had 5,000 Yuan extorted from him by the former Wanlong township government of Shuangcheng city, and 1,000 Yuan by the Shuancheng Police Department "610" Liaison Office [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political or judicial systems] stationed in Beijing. In the detention center, he was cruelly tortured. The police incited the prisoners to physically torture Dafa practitioners. The prisoners made Li Shutao suffer with a torture method called "Riding Airplane" [a painful torture in which one's hands are bent to the back while one's body is lying flat on the floor]. The prisoners still used their heels to heavily kick his back. They used their fists to beat Dafa practitioners' cheeks, and they called it "cheek blisters." Because of the beatings, Dafa practitioners lost consciousness and fell to the ground. Some prisoners flicked practitioners' eyeballs with their fingers. The eyes of those practitioners were blistered and constantly shed tears. One prisoner bit his eyelid broken, and used a needle to pierce his toes while he was sleeping. All kinds of inhuman torture like this went on everyday. Li Shutao had 1,000 Yuan extorted from him by the Shuangcheng "610 Office" and he had 130 Yaun extorted for meals. In the autumn of 2000, the police forcefully took him away. When they came, he was determined to not follow them passively. Thus, he was forced into the police van. He was again illegally detained and inhumanly tortured. He had 1,000 Yuan extorted from him by the Shuangcheng "610 Office," and about 160 Yuan for meals.

Zhao Fengxia, female, 48, went to Beijing to validate Dafa on February 9, 2000. She was arrested by the police and sent back to the Shuangcheng No. 2 Detention Center for 45 days of detention. She had 480 Yuan extorted from her for meals. She was also detained in the Shuiquan township Senior House for three months and had 400 Yuan extorted from her for meals. On November 6, 2000 she unfurled a banner on Tiananmen Square in Beijing. She was arrested and was sent by policemen Zhang Lianyu and Wang Weidong to the Shuangcheng "610 Office" for fifteen days of detention. However, she was illegally detained for 45 days and sent to the Wanjia Labor Camp for one year of forced labor. Everyday she was forced to sit on a bench, and had to do weeding just like the other prisoners. Dafa practitioners in the Wanjia Labor Camp did not cooperate with the evil persecution. The disciplinary guard delayed Dafa practitioners' release dates by extending their terms. Because of this, Dafa practitioners started to rectify the Fa. Many of them started hunger strikes to protest. A guard started dragging a fellow practitioner away for beatings, so Zhao Fengxia went forward to take her back, but was viciously beaten. She lost consciousness and lost control of her bladder. After she was sent back she did not cooperate with the regulations. Because of this the guards Zhang Bo and Yang Yan beat her up severely, and tied her to the bed leg, which made her unable to stand up or squat down for five days and nights. One day when it was hot and stuffy and thunder was rolling, she had a feeling Dafa practitioner might again suffer. It turned out that the evil guard Wang Min tied over forty Dafa practitioners in the torture position called "Flying the Airplane." They were hung up very high and could not touch the ground. Covering her body, Zhao Fengxia had all kinds of scabies (dry and purulent). She could not take care of herself. She suffered bitterly for over four months before she was unconditionally released on November 13.

Zhang Jingyan, female, 38, went to Beijing to validate Dafa on July 25, 1999. After she was unjustly detained by the Beijing police, she was detained in the Shuangcheng No.2 Detention Center for over twenty days and she had 130 Yuan extorted from her before she was released. In January 2000, she again went to Beijing to validate Dafa and was arrested by the Beijing Police. In the local liaison office stationed in Beijing, she had 200 Yuan extorted from her by a corrupt official. She was detained illegally in the Shuangcheng No. 2 Detention Center for 45 days, in the Harbin No. 2 Detention Center for 45 days, and in the Shuangcheng Detention Center for another 5 days, and she had 650 Yuan extorted from her for meals. She was detained in the Xinmin Street Office for over twenty days by Shuangcheng town. There she had 1,000 Yuan extorted by Liu Yuhua, and she had 4,564 Yuan extorted from her by Zhu Wanfu of Yongzhi village before she was released. On July 1, 2000, she went to Beijing to validate Dafa. On the train from Mudanjiang to Beijing, the train police forced every passenger to curse Dafa and Teacher [Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa]. If they refused, they would be locked up in the No.2 Crime Police Brigade of Shanhaiguan. There she was severely beaten by three policemen. The money on her body was forcefully taken away, and she had 500 Yuan extorted by the Shuangcheng Zhanqian Police Station. She was illegally detained in the No.2 Detention Center for 75 days. She had 800 Yuan extorted from her by Zhang Guofu, and 800 Yuan by the detention center. Twelve hundred Yuan was also extorted from her by Yongzhi village. Under the town government, township government and the police station's pressure, she was forced to abandon her home and travel from place to place, leaving a over 60-year old mother-in-law and a teenager child at home. The police are still trying to find her and arrest her. They threatened: "If she is alive, we will find her. If she dies, we will take a look at her corpse. We will not let her family live a peaceful life." This has brought great harm to her family, making both the old and young suffer tremendous grief.
