[Changchun City, Jilin Province] Changchun Detains 1000 Practitioners in 2001
According to an internal news source in the judicial system, Changchun
detained a total of 1000 Falun Gong practitioners in 2001.
[Northeast China] Over Forty Practitioners From Northeast China Went To
Tiananmen Square at the New Year Festival and Most Returned Home Safely
Over forty Falun Dafa practitioners went to Tiananmen Square to confront the
evil at the New Year Festival. They held a small Fa Conference before they left.
On January 5, 2002, they divided into three groups and separately opened banners
on Tiananmen Square. At that moment, the banners and voices of Fa rectification
arose one after another in front of Tiananmen Gate, beside the Jinshui Bridge
and below Tiananmen Gate. It effectively overwhelmed the evil. Five Falun Dafa
practitioners were taken away, and their situation is unknown, but the other
practitioners all returned home safely, then resumed their task of clarifying
the truth.
[Changchun City, Jilin Province] Righteous Faith and Righteous Action: Falun
Dafa Practitioner Recites Teacher's New Articles at a Labor Camp Meeting
One day in August 2000, the Changchun Fenjin Forced Labor Camp held a meeting
of over one hundred people, in which they found all the evil natured people they
could to break down the righteous faith of Falun Dafa practitioners. In order to
achieve their sinister objective, they allowed the practitioners' families to
take part because their method was to first break down the practitioners' family
members. A practitioner's wife, also a practitioner herself, was one of the
family members invited to the meeting. One of the "collaborators" [former
practitioners whose minds have gone astray due to the Jiang regime's
brainwashing or torture], appointed as group moderator, began the discussion
by saying a few words. Then the practitioner's wife, holding their infant child,
began to recite from memory Teacher's new articles. This thoroughly confounded
the evil collaborators and officials. Her feat inspired all of the practitioners
at the meeting, causing some even to shed tears. Within such a wicked
environment, this practitioner disregarded all her personal interests in order
to safeguard Falun Dafa, thus establishing a great and eternal mighty virtue for
Falun Dafa and its disciples. At the same time, her action caused the devious
plan to backfire upon the perpetrators. The unshakeable strength of Falun Dafa
disciples' righteous faith so shocked the malicious officials, that the labor
camp released the practitioner's wife after the discussion.
[Changchun City, Jilin Province] The "Riot-control Squad" Is
Actually A Gang of Criminals
A total of seventy-four Falun Dafa practitioners were transferred from other
areas to the Changchun Chaoyanggou Labor Camp on December 24, 2001. Among them
were twenty practitioners from Tonghua City, thirty practitioners from Liaoyuan
City and twenty-four practitioners from Baishan City. Changchun Chaoyanggou
Labor Camp established a special "riot-control squad" composed of
ruthless young wardens, for the specific purpose of persecuting Falun Dafa
practitioners. Some wardens even loudly claimed, "Chaoyanggou Labor Camp
originated the means of dealing with Falun Gong. That's why you were all
transferred here."
These practitioners were intimidated and beaten immediately upon entering the
labor camp, and their heart-rending cries never stopped. Many criminals also
willfully beat practitioners, acting on no more than a simple hint from the
conniving wardens. The practitioners were forbidden from talking to one another.
Each practitioner was sandwiched between criminals on either side. They were
followed around every minute and frequently abused or beaten.
Practitioner Chen Mingxian, from Liaoyuan City, was assigned to Team Four and
has been on a hunger strike for many days. The Labor Camp detained Chen in a
tiny cell and force-fed Chen.
[Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province] After Finishing Their One-Year Prison Terms,
Two Brothers Had a Second Year Added to their Sentences
Falun Dafa practitioner Yin Hongqing (40 years old) and his brother Yin
Hongjiang (34 years old) live on Zhanqian Street, in the Nongshan District of
Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province. After being detained for one year terms in a
labor camp, they were then detained for an extra month and sent to Liaoyuan
"610 Office" brainwashing class. [The "610 Office" is an
agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over
each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary
systems.] Because they insisted on practicing Falun Dafa, the "610
Office" fabricated a reason and sentenced them to a second one-year term.
They are currently detained in Changchun Chaoyanggou Labor Camp.
[Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Tortured practitioner Li Jingyi's
Determination
Li Jingyi, a practitioner from Dalian City, about 50 years old, was arrested
in Beijing on April 5, 2001 and detained in the Beijing Changping Detention
Center. She insisted on practicing Falun Gong and refused to be fingerprinted. A
warden, Liu Xiaobing, instigated five or six criminals to beat her. They kicked
and stomped on her, beating her until she had severe lumbar displacement and her
lower back was injured. The chief of the detention center, Gao Deren, was on the
scene. Liu Xiaobing asked criminals to hold her while she was outfitted with
implements of torture. Her hands were cuffed and ankles shackled with a distance
of less than 0.3 meter (1 foot) between her handcuffs and shackles. The
handcuffs and shackles were chained together so closely that she could neither
stand up nor lie down, but could only crouch down. Even death penalty criminals
seldom have this kind of torture applied. Wardens then asked some criminal
prisoners to drag Li Jingyi into her cell.
As evening approached, the sunny sky quickly turned cloudy and a strong wind
seemed to blow from all directions. Instantly, loud claps of thunder resounded
in succession, followed by a deafening downpour. The female criminals were so
frightened that they huddled together and said they had never heard such loud
thunder. Falun Dafa practitioners understood that this was a warning from heaven
to worldly people. On her seventeenth day of detainment, Li Jingyi began a
hunger strike. Her weight dropped from 65 kg (143 lbs.) to less than 50 kg (110
lbs.) On the second day of her hunger strike, the torture implements were
removed because she could not take care of herself due to her serious lumbar
displacement. In order to resist the persecution, however, she continued the
hunger strike. On the seventh day of her hunger strike, August 28, she was
transferred to a Beijing detention center. Her present situation is unknown.
[Heilongjiang Province] Head of the State "610 Office" Orders the
Sentencing of Falun Gong Practitioners to Forced Labor Camps at Will
As New Year's Day, 2002 drew near, Liu Jin, Vice Director of the State
"610 Office" went to Heilongjiang Province to inspect the persecution
of Falun Gong practitioners in the province. He stated, "All Falun Gong
practitioners who have been to Beijing, distributed Falun Gong flyers, painted
Falun Gong posters, or refused to obey in detention centers must be sent to
forced labor camps if they cannot be sentenced to jail justifiably according to
the law." They are abusing the law, and in their persecution, they are
actually destroying themselves.
[Changchun City, Jilin Province] Nanguan District Court to Hold an Illegal
Hearing for Detained and Persecuted Dafa Disciples
The Nanguan District court in Changchun City is going to hold an
illegal hearing for several Dafa disciples who have been unlawfully detained and
persecuted. The hearing will take place between January 14 and 19 this year.
These Dafa disciples are presently being detained in Tiebei Detention Center and
Shuangyang Detention Center in Changchun City. Some of them have been illegally
detained for over a year. Please attend to their situation. We also suggest that
Dafa disciples all over the world send forth powerful righteous thoughts
together---completely eradicating the evils persecuting Dafa and Dafa disciples

[Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Everyone Must Take a Stand
Recently, people in Shenzhou City of Hebei Province have been forced to fill
out a form, declaring where they stand on the issue of Falun Gong. It is said
that the order is from high authority.
The lawless officials originally planned to detain all whose attitude towards
Falun Gong didn't meet the requirements of the authorities. They would then be
sent to brainwashing classes. However, since the numbers were too high, they
were unable to track down all parties concerned. However, some Falun Gong
practitioners were sent to brainwashing classes.
The enclosing walls of the brainwashing classes are even higher than those in
detention centers. In the detention centers, prisoners are let out of their
cells to walk around or to relieve themselves; however, even this right is
denied during the brainwashing classes.
Since Falun Gong practitioners are very firm in cultivation, the lawless
officials decided to make the brainwashing classes a place to detain the
practitioners for a long time. Currently, several Dafa practitioners have been
sentenced to jail in Shenzhou City. The longest term to be served is ten years.
Some Dafa practitioners have been illegally detained since December of 1999,
following their appeal.
One of the vicious officials is Yin Yuzhen, the secretary of the Political
and Judiciary Committee in Shenzhou City.
[Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Present Situation of Persecuted Dafa
Disciples
Chengdu Dafa disciples Han Qirong, Li Shiying, and Duan Cuilan went to
Beijing to appeal for Dafa near the end of November or early December of 2001.
They were arrested by plainclothes police and were sent to the local detention
center for illegal detention.
Chengdu Dafa disciple Zuo Siqi was sent to forced labor camp in 2000 for
clarifying the truth of Dafa. She was released in August of 2001. On November
26, when she realized that her behavior in the forced labor camp was an insult
to Dafa, she went to Beijing to validate Dafa. As she stepped onto Tiananmen
gate tower, police failed to force her to swear at Dafa and Teacher. The police
then searched her violently. Since she had banners with her, she was beaten
black and blue and was then sent to the local detention center and illegally
detained.
Li Yun went to Beijing to appeal for Dafa in late November of 2001. She was
arrested in Beijing and was sent to the local detention center.
Chen Lan, female, 32 years old, went to Beijing on December 19, 2001. She was
arrested on the 20th and is presently being detained in the No. 1
Detention Center in Pi County of Chengdu City.
[X County, Hebei Province] Two Dafa Disciples Parade with Banner
On September 16, 2001, two Dafa disciples in X County of Hebei Province made
an appeal to the "610 Office" to stop the brainwashing classes. They
started walking from the center of the county town Mabao Yuhuandao to the
drum-tower inside the town. As they walked, they held a banner announcing,
"Falun Dafa is good!" and they played the music "Pudu" and
"Jishi." They passed the police department and busy streets. They were
able to go for about five kilometers before the police captured them. They are
currently being detained.
[Changchun City, Jilin Province] Vicious Thugs in Chaoyanggou Labor Camp
In Chaoyanggou Labor Camp, scores of Dafa disciples, including Fu Yan, Yun
Qingbin, and Xie Rongchun developed scabies all over their bodies. While
suffering the torture of being forced to sit on a board, their pants were wet
with pus and blood. On January 18, 2001, the police guards beat these Dafa
disciples by hitting them with the soles of hard plastic shoes. Yun Qingbin
suffered from shock. Three prisoners beat Fu Yan in turn over 100 times until
their own arms ached with the pain. Fu Yan's body was badly mangled, especially
inside of his thighs. Even so, the thugs didn't stop the torture. They began to
scrape Fu Yan's body with iron spoons, which is an extremely painful form of
torture. A cloth was stuffed in his mouth, and Fu Yan's face and forehead were
covered with beads of sweat. The next day, they began to scrape Xie Rongchun's
hands and thighs with the iron spoons. His skin, especially in the center of his
palms, was torn and bleeding. They repeated this torture more than once. Such
inhumane persecution still cannot shake Dafa disciples' firm belief in Dafa.
Dafa disciples' enormous virtue is great and eternal.
[Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Police Illegally Detain and Abuse Dafa
Disciples
Daqing public security system keeps holding Dafa disciples even when they
have served the terms of their sentences. Tian Yingchun and Sun X were
illegally detained for one month in the city detention center and were then
transferred to Rang Area for half a month, and then Sa Area until after the term
was over. Lu Zhenrong was transferred to Rang Area for half a month after he had
been illegally detained for 32 days in Daqing City Detention Center. Four days
after he was released, he was taken away from his home for no reason. Wang
Guiyan was transferred to Rang Area Detention Center for half a month and then
Sa Area Detention Center for two months after she had been detained in Daqing
City Detention Center for 37 days (past the end of her term). However, the
police didn't even inform her as to how long her term had been extended.
In the Sa Area Detention Center, Vice Director Guo Chunguang is very vicious.
He doesn't provide blankets for Dafa disciples who haven't paid their board
expenses. He even takes away blankets given by other guards. The Dafa disciples
have to suffer from the cold. Some of them still don't feel well. There is one
official there who is not a doctor, and his job is to force-feed Dafa disciples
who are on a hunger strike. A 65-year-old lady didn't come to until several
hours after the force-feeding. They justify this by saying that it is "for
the Dafa disciple's own sake."
Recently, Rang Area Public Security Branch illegally arrested four Dafa
disciples. They are Guan Fenglan, Xiao Ailin, Jiao Lixun, and Sun X.
[Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Yilan County Police Abduct More
Practitioners
On December 29, 2001, around 7:00 p.m., policemen from Yilan County Police
Department broke into the homes of practitioners without any legal procedure.
They broke the windows or locks to gain entry and ransacked the houses. They
also arrested ten practitioners and detained them at Yilan County No.2 Detention
Center.
This is an action by the evil forces to retaliate against the practitioners
of Yilan County for exposing the crimes of the police. Early in December, the
practitioners exposed the crime that police brutally tortured ten practitioners
and murdered another, Zhang Min. After the crime was exposed, the thugs were
terrified and arranged this retaliation.
Now, two of the ten practitioners who were detained have been sentenced to a
forced labor camp. The remaining eight practitioners were still detained in
Yilan County No. 2 Detention Center. The practitioners began a hunger and water
strike to protest the persecution and will use their lives to safeguard Falun
Dafa.
[Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Evil Forces Use Students to Tear Down
Truth Clarifying Flyers
Some leaders and a few teachers of the Agriculture Development System, Jianan
Experimental School, Jiamusi City led the pupils to residential buildings to
tear down the Falun Dafa flyers and truth clarifying literature. They deceived
the innocent students and coerced them into committing crimes against Falun Dafa.

[Northeast China] Practitioners Walked Out to Validate Falun Dafa Despite
Rampant Persecution
The Chinese New Year is coming soon, and Jiang's Regime has started a new
round of persecution. The cadres of our village received secret orders to
persecute Falun Gong. The order directed all work units to have more people
monitoring Falun Dafa practitioners and instructed the police to arrest
practitioners and ransack their homes. I overheard a policeman tell his family,
"We are again in a high alert state. We don't have enough manpower, so many
people from other work units were moved in to closely monitor every action of
Falun Gong. There will be a 1000 Yuan RMB (the monthly salary for an average
Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan) bonus for arresting each
practitioner. Some were assigned to wait in ambush to arrest the practitioners,
while others were assigned to carry out secret investigations." About 5:00 p.m. on December 31 2001, I saw several police cars rush by with
sirens blaring. Soon thereafter, several police cars drove by slowly, without
any sirens. I saw that the policemen were looking around in all directions. The
environment seemed very tense. At that time, a "heart of fear"
emerged, but I eliminated it immediately, and brought my brush to paint Falun
Dafa banners. On the way, I met two other practitioners and they said, "The
policemen were just following orders from above, but we came out to validate
Dafa as usual. Four thousand copies of truth clarifying literature have been
distributed. Four thousand small flyers were posted, and two hundred banners
were hung." Many colorful banners stating, "Falun Dafa is Good!"
were fluttering over our village.

[Daqing, Heilongjiang Province] Police Department at Daqing Petroleum
Chemical Plant Persecutes Falun Dafa Practitioners
Over the past two years, Director Li Yanting of the Daqing Petroleum Chemical
Plant Police Department has illegally sent numerous Dafa practitioners to
detention over ninety times (incomplete statistics), and twenty-one were sent to
forced labor camp. So many practitioners are being persecuted in this small
village in Daqing City, Xinghua, it is obvious that Li Yanting is very evil.
Practitioners are being brutally tortured in the prison and some of them even
tortured to death, but Li Yanting has no sympathy for them. He even ordered that
practitioners be detained past the terms of their sentences, in order to
escalate the persecution. Practitioner Yang Xiuli was illegally sentenced to one
year of forced labor. She was detained beyond the term of her detention for an
additional six months and experienced life or death situations on several
occasions in the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. Li Yanting is still pushing to
persecute more practitioners.

After July 22 1999, Lu was appointed to Secretary (Political Instructor) of
the Security Division. All of the practitioners of Yilan Coal Mine who admitted
they still practiced Falun Gong were forced to leave their jobs without salary.
Lu threatened the practitioners and forced them to read the prepared lies and
slandering words on TV. If a practitioner refused to obey, he would lose his
individual freedom and place his family at risk. In December 2000, twenty
practitioners from Yilan Coal Mine were detained in Yilan County No.2 Detention
Center. Lu personally signed the illegal order to send these innocent
practitioners to a forced labor camp.
Practitioner-employees of Yilan Coal Mine were forced to be separated from
their families. If practitioners did not comply with Lu's requirements he would
persecute them; he even used a gun to coerce them. He would interrogate any
practitioner at will by calling them to his 610 Office. If practitioners refused
to give up, he would handcuff or detain them, refuse to let them return home,
and refuse to let them eat.
